1 E ntrando Jesus num barco, atravessou o mar e foi para a sua cidade.

And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

2 A lguns homens trouxeram-lhe um paralítico, deitado em sua maca. Vendo a fé que eles tinham, Jesus disse ao paralítico: “Tenha bom ânimo, filho; os seus pecados estão perdoados”.

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

3 D iante disso, alguns mestres da lei disseram a si mesmos: “Este homem está blasfemando!”

And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

4 C onhecendo Jesus seus pensamentos, disse-lhes: “Por que vocês pensam maldosamente em seu coração?

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

5 Q ue é mais fácil dizer: ‘Os seus pecados estão perdoados’, ou: ‘Levante-se e ande’?

For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

6 M as, para que vocês saibam que o Filho do homem tem na terra autoridade para perdoar pecados” — disse ao paralítico: “Levante-se, pegue a sua maca e vá para casa”.

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

7 E le se levantou e foi.

And he arose, and departed to his house.

8 V endo isso, a multidão ficou cheia de temor e glorificou a Deus, que dera tal autoridade aos homens. O Chamado de Mateus

But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

9 S aindo, Jesus viu um homem chamado Mateus, sentado na coletoria, e disse-lhe: “Siga-me”. Mateus levantou-se e o seguiu.

And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

10 E stando Jesus em casa, foram comer com ele e seus discípulos muitos publicanos e “pecadores”.

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

11 V endo isso, os fariseus perguntaram aos discípulos dele: “Por que o mestre de vocês come com publicanos e ‘pecadores’?”

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

12 O uvindo isso, Jesus disse: “Não são os que têm saúde que precisam de médico, mas sim os doentes.

But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

13 V ão aprender o que significa isto: ‘Desejo misericórdia, não sacrifícios’. Pois eu não vim chamar justos, mas pecadores”. Jesus é Interrogado acerca do Jejum

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

14 E ntão os discípulos de João vieram perguntar-lhe: “Por que nós e os fariseus jejuamos, mas os teus discípulos não?”

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?

15 J esus respondeu: “Como podem os convidados do noivo ficar de luto enquanto o noivo está com eles? Virão dias quando o noivo lhes será tirado; então jejuarão.

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.

16 “ Ninguém põe remendo de pano novo em roupa velha, pois o remendo forçará a roupa, tornando pior o rasgo.

No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

17 N em se põe vinho novo em vasilha de couro velha; se o fizer, a vasilha rebentará, o vinho se derramará e a vasilha se estragará. Ao contrário, põe-se vinho novo em vasilha de couro nova; e ambos se conservam”. O Poder de Jesus sobre a Doença e a Morte

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

18 F alava ele ainda quando um dos dirigentes da sinagoga chegou, ajoelhou-se diante dele e disse: “Minha filha acaba de morrer. Vem e impõe a tua mão sobre ela, e ela viverá”.

While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

19 J esus levantou-se e foi com ele, e também os seus discípulos.

And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.

20 N isso uma mulher que havia doze anos vinha sofrendo de hemorragia, chegou por trás dele e tocou na borda do seu manto,

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

21 p ois dizia a si mesma: “Se eu tão-somente tocar em seu manto, ficarei curada”.

for she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

22 V oltando-se, Jesus a viu e disse: “Ânimo, filha, a sua fé a curou! ” E desde aquele instante a mulher ficou curada.

But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

23 Q uando ele chegou à casa do dirigente da sinagoga e viu os flautistas e a multidão agitada,

And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

24 d isse: “Saiam! A menina não está morta, mas dorme”. Todos começaram a rir dele.

he said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

25 D epois que a multidão se afastou, ele entrou e tomou a menina pela mão, e ela se levantou.

But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

26 A notícia deste acontecimento espalhou-se por toda aquela região. A Cura de Dois Cegos e de Um Mudo

And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

27 S aindo Jesus dali, dois cegos o seguiram, clamando: “Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de nós!”

And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

28 E ntrando ele em casa, os cegos se aproximaram, e ele lhes perguntou: “Vocês crêem que eu sou capaz de fazer isso?” Eles responderam: “Sim, Senhor!”

And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

29 E ele, tocando nos olhos deles, disse: “Que lhes seja feito segundo a fé que vocês têm!”

Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

30 E a visão deles foi restaurada. Então Jesus os advertiu severamente: “Cuidem para que ninguém saiba disso”.

And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

31 E les, porém, saíram e espalharam a notícia por toda aquela região.

But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

32 E nquanto eles se retiravam, foi levado a Jesus um homem endemoninhado que não podia falar.

As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

33 Q uando o demônio foi expulso, o mudo começou a falar. A multidão ficou admirada e disse: “Nunca se viu nada parecido em Israel!”

And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

34 M as os fariseus diziam: “É pelo príncipe dos demônios que ele expulsa demônios”. Poucos São os Trabalhadores

But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.

35 J esus ia passando por todas as cidades e povoados, ensinando nas sinagogas, pregando as boas novas do Reino e curando todas as enfermidades e doenças.

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 A o ver as multidões, teve compaixão delas, porque estavam aflitas e desamparadas, como ovelhas sem pastor.

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37 E ntão disse aos seus discípulos: “A colheita é grande, mas os trabalhadores são poucos.

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 P eçam, pois, ao Senhor da colheita que envie trabalhadores para a sua colheita”.

pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
