1 E le me disse: “Filho do homem, fique em pé, pois eu vou falar com você”.

And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

2 E nquanto ele falava, o Espírito entrou em mim e me pôs em pé, e ouvi aquele que me falava.

And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

3 E le disse: “Filho do homem, vou enviá-lo aos israelitas, nação rebelde que se revoltou contra mim; até hoje eles e os seus antepassados têm se revoltado contra mim.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

4 O povo a quem vou enviá-lo é obstinado e rebelde. Diga-lhe: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor.

For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God.

5 E , quer aquela nação rebelde ouça, quer deixe de ouvir, saberá que um profeta esteve no meio dela.

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

6 E você, filho do homem, não tenha medo dessa gente nem das suas palavras. Não tenha medo, ainda que o cerquem espinheiros e você viva entre escorpiões. Não tenha medo do que disserem, nem fique apavorado ao vê-los, embora sejam uma nação rebelde.

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

7 V ocê lhes falará as minhas palavras, quer ouçam quer deixem de ouvir, pois são rebeldes.

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

8 M as você, filho do homem, ouça o que lhe digo. Não seja rebelde como aquela nação; abra a boca e coma o que vou lhe dar”.

But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

9 E ntão olhei, e vi a mão de alguém estendida para mim. Nela estava o rolo de um livro,

And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

10 q ue ele desenrolou diante de mim. Em ambos os lados do rolo estavam escritas palavras de lamento, pranto e ais.

and he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
