1 W iilkaygiiyow, haddaad deriskaaga dammiin u noqotid, Ama haddaad shisheeye gacanta dhaar ugu dhiibtid,
My son, if you have become surety for your neighbor, Have given a pledge for a stranger,
2 M arkaas waxaa lagugu dabay erayada afkaaga, Oo waxaa lagugu qabtay erayada afkaaga.
If you have been snared with the words of your mouth, Have been caught with the words of your mouth,
3 H addaba, wiilkaygiiyow, bal waxan samee oo isa samatabbixi, Waayo, gacantii deriskaagii waad gashay; U tag, oo is-hoosaysii, oo deriskaaga bari.
Do this then, my son, and deliver yourself; Since you have come into the hand of your neighbor, Go, humble yourself, and importune your neighbor.
4 I ndhahaaga hurdo ha isugu keenin, Oo indhahaaga daboolkoodana lulo ha isugu qaban.
Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids;
5 I su samatabbixi sida cawl gacanta ugaadhsadaha uga baxsato, Iyo sida shimbir gacanta shimbirdabaha uga baxsato.
Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hunter’s hand And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.
6 K aaga caajiska ahow, bal qudhaanjada u tag, Oo bal jidadkeeda u fiirso oo caqli yeelo,
Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise,
7 I yadoo aan lahayn madaxweyne, Sirkaal iyo taliye toona,
Which, having no chief, Officer or ruler,
8 A yay guga cuntadeeda soo diyaarsataa, Oo quudkeedana waxay soo urursataa wakhtiga beeraha la goosto.
Prepares her food in the summer And gathers her provision in the harvest.
9 H addaba kaaga caajiska ahow, ilaa goormaad hurdaysaa? Goormaadse hurdadaada ka toosaysaa?
How long will you lie down, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?
10 W eliba, in yar baad seexataa, in yar baad lulootaa, Oo in yar baad gacmaha hurdo aawadeed u laabataa,
“ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest”—
11 H adda caydhinimadaadu waxay u iman doontaa sida mid dad dhaca, Oo baahidaaduna waxay u iman doontaa sida nin hub wata.
Your poverty will come in like a vagabond And your need like an armed man.
12 Q ofkii waxmatare ah, iyo ninkii sharrow ahuba, Wuxuu ku socdaa af qalloocan;
A worthless person, a wicked man, Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth,
13 I ndhihiisuu ku baaqaa, oo cagihiisuu ku hadlaa, Oo faruhuu wax ku baraa;
Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, Who points with his fingers;
14 Q albigiisa qalloocnaan baa ku jirta, had iyo goorna wuxuu ku fikiraa shar, Oo wuxuu beeraa muran.
Who with perversity in his heart continually devises evil, Who spreads strife.
15 H addaba sidaas daraaddeed masiibadiisu degdeg bay u iman doontaa, Oo dhaqso buu u jabi doonaa, dawona ma leh.
Therefore his calamity will come suddenly; Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing.
16 W axaa jira lix waxyaalood oo uu Rabbigu neceb yahay, Haah, toddoba ayaa naftiisu aad u karahdaa,
There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
17 W aana indho kibir badan, carrab been sheega, Iyo gacmo dhiig aan eed lahayn daadiya,
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,
18 Q albi male shar ah hindisa, Iyo cago xumaan ku degdega,
A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 M arkhaati been ah oo been sheega, Iyo kii muran dad walaalo ah ku dhex beera. Digniin Ku Saabsan Sinada
A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.
20 W iilkaygiiyow, qaynuunka aabbahaa xaji, Oo amarka hooyadaana ha ka tegin.
My son, observe the commandment of your father And do not forsake the teaching of your mother;
21 H ad iyo goorba qalbiga ku sido, Oo qoortana ku xidho.
Bind them continually on your heart; Tie them around your neck.
22 M arkaad socotid wuu ku hoggaamin doonaa, Oo markaad seexatidna wuu ku dhawri doonaa, Markaad toostidna wuu kula hadli doonaa.
When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you.
23 W aayo, qaynuunku waa laambad, amarkuna waa iftiin, Oo canaanashada edbintuna waa jidkii nolosha,
For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life
24 I nay kaa dhawraan naagta sharka ah, Iyo sasabashada carrabka naagta qalaad.
To keep you from the evil woman, From the smooth tongue of the adulteress.
25 Q uruxdeeda qalbigaaga ha ka damcin, Oo yaanay indhaheeda daboolkooda kugu sasaban.
Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her capture you with her eyelids.
26 W aayo, naag dhillo ah aawadeed waxaa nin la gaadhsiiyaa go' kibis ah, Oo dhilladuna waxay ugaadhsataa nafta qaaligaa.
For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread, And an adulteress hunts for the precious life.
27 M iyuu nin laabta dab ku qaadi karaa, Iyadoo aan dharkiisu guban?
Can a man take fire in his bosom And his clothes not be burned?
28 M iyuu mid dhuxul kulul ku kor socon karaa, Iyadoo aan cagihiisu guban?
Or can a man walk on hot coals And his feet not be scorched?
29 H addaba sidaas oo kaluu noqdaa kii naagta deriskiisa u tagaa, Oo ku alla kii iyada taabtaaba ma taqsiir la'aan doono.
So is the one who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; Whoever touches her will not go unpunished.
30 D adku tuug ma quudhsadaan hadduu wax xado Inuu naftiisa dhergiyo markuu gaajoodo,
Men do not despise a thief if he steals To satisfy himself when he is hungry;
31 L aakiinse haddii isaga la qabto waa inuu toddoba jibbaar u magdhabaa, Waa inuu ku bixiyaa waxa gurigiisa yaal oo dhan.
But when he is found, he must repay sevenfold; He must give all the substance of his house.
32 K ii naag ka sinaystaa wuu caqli daranyahay, Oo kii sidaas yeelaa naftiisuu halligaa.
The one who commits adultery with a woman is lacking sense; He who would destroy himself does it.
33 O o wuxuu heli doonaa dhaawacyo iyo sharafdarro; Oo ceebtiisana lama tirtiri doono innaba.
Wounds and disgrace he will find, And his reproach will not be blotted out.
34 W aayo, hinaaso waa nin cadhadiis. Maalinta aarsashadana isagu ma tudhi doono.
For jealousy enrages a man, And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
35 I sagu innaba mag kaa qaadan maayo, oo sinaba kuula heshiin maayo, In kastoo aad hadiyado badan siisid.
He will not accept any ransom, Nor will he be satisfied though you give many gifts.
