“Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge?

“Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!

4 M arkaan dunida aasaaskeeda dhigay xaggee baad joogtay? Haddaad waxgarad tahay, taas ii sheeg.

“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding,

5 H addaadse taqaanid yaa qiyaasteeda amray? Amase yaa xadhiggii lagu qiyaasay ku kor fidiyey?

Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it?

6 A asaaskeedase bal xaggee baa lagu dejiyey? Amase yaa dhigay dhagaxa geeska ah

“On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone,

7 M arkay xiddigaha aroorya isla wada heeseen, Oo ay carruurta Ilaah oo dhammu farxad la qayliyeen?

When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

“Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb;

When I made a cloud its garment And thick darkness its swaddling band,

And I placed boundaries on it And set a bolt and doors,

11 O o aan ku idhi, Ilaa halkan soo gaadh, laakiinse innaba ha soo dhaafin, Oo hirarkaaga kibirka lahu waa inay halkan ku joogsadaan?

And I said, ‘Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop’? God’s Mighty Power

12 T an iyo waagii aad dhalatay marna subaxda ma amartay? Waaberigase ma meeshiisaad ogeysiisay,

“Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And caused the dawn to know its place,

13 S i uu u qabsado dhulka darfihiisa, Oo sharrowyada looga hurgufo?

That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?

14 W aa loo beddelaa sidii dhoobo shaabad ka hoosaysa, Oo wax kastaaba waxay kor uga muuqdaan sidii dhar oo kale,

“It is changed like clay under the seal; And they stand forth like a garment.

15 O o sharrowyadana iftiinkooda waa loo diiday, Oo gacantii sarraysayna waa la jebiyey.

“ From the wicked their light is withheld, And the uplifted arm is broken.

16 A digu miyaad badda ilaheeda dhex gashay? Miyaadse moolka salkiisa martay?

“Have you entered into the springs of the sea Or walked in the recesses of the deep?

“Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?

18 M iyaad garanaysaa dhulka ballaadhkiisa? Haddaad waxaas wada taqaanid ii sheeg.

“Have you understood the expanse of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this.

19 R ugta iftiinka jidka loo maraa waa xaggee? Gudcurkase meeshiisu waa xaggee,

“Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place,

20 S i aad soohdintiisa u martid, Oo aad u garatid wadiiqooyinka gurigiisa loo maro?

That you may take it to its territory And that you may discern the paths to its home?

21 S hakila'aan waad taqaan, waayo, adigu wakhtigaas waad dhalanayd Oo cimrigaaguna wuu dheer yahay!

“You know, for you were born then, And the number of your days is great!

22 A digu miyaad dhex gashay meesha barafka cad lagu kaydiyo? Miyaadse aragtay meesha roobdhagaxyaalaha la dhigo,

“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,

23 K uwaasoo aan u kaydsaday wakhtiga dhibaatada, Iyo maalinta dirirta iyo dagaalka?

Which I have reserved for the time of distress, For the day of war and battle?

24 I ftiinka jidkee baa lagu kala qaybiyaa? Dabaysha barise sidee baa dhulka loogu kor firdhiyaa?

“Where is the way that the light is divided, Or the east wind scattered on the earth?

25 B al yaa jid u sameeyey biyaha daadka ah, Amase hillaaca onkodka,

“Who has cleft a channel for the flood, Or a way for the thunderbolt,

26 S i roob ugu da'o dhul aan binu-aadmina joogin, Iyo cidlada aan ninna degganayn,

To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a man in it,

27 S i uu u dherjiyo dhulka cidlo iyo baabba' ah, Oo uu doog jilicsan uga soo bixiyo?

To satisfy the waste and desolate land And to make the seeds of grass to sprout?

28 R oobku ma aabbuu leeyahay? Yaase dhalay dhibicyaha sayaxa?

“Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?

29 B arafkuse bal yuu maxalkiisa ka soo baxay? Yaase dhalay sayaxa barafoobay ee cirka ka yimaada?

“From whose womb has come the ice? And the frost of heaven, who has given it birth?

30 B iyihii waxay u adkaadeen sidii dhagax oo kale, Oo moolka korkiisiina wuu barafoobay.

“Water becomes hard like stone, And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.

31 A digu miyaad xidhi kartaa ururka xiddigaha ee Toddobaadyada la yidhaahdo? Miyaadse furi kartaa ururka Oriyon la yidhaahdo?

“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, Or loose the cords of Orion?

32 M iyaad kartaa inaad xiddigaha Masarood la yidhaahdo xilligooda soo saarto? Miyaadse ururka xiddigaha ee Orsada la yidhaahdo carruurtiisa la kaxayn kartaa?

“Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites?

“Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or fix their rule over the earth?

“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, So that an abundance of water will cover you?

35 M iyaad hillaaca diri kartaa, si ay u tagaan, Oo ay kuugu yidhaahdaan, Waa na kan?

“Can you send forth lightnings that they may go And say to you, ‘Here we are’?

36 B al yaa qalbiga xigmadda geliyey? Yaase maanka waxgarashada siiyey?

“Who has put wisdom in the innermost being Or given understanding to the mind?

37 B al yaa daruuraha xigmad ku tirin kara? Yaase qarbeddada samada biyo ka shubi kara,

“Who can count the clouds by wisdom, Or tip the water jars of the heavens,

38 M arkii boodhku taallooyin noqdo, Oo ciidduna ay isku dhegto?

When the dust hardens into a mass And the clods stick together?

39 M iyaad karaysaa inaad gool libaax u ugaadhid? Miyaadse dhal libaax dherjin kartaa,

“Can you hunt the prey for the lion, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,

40 M arkay boholahooda ku dhex dhuuntaan, Oo ay hogga u joogaan inay wax gaadaan?

When they crouch in their dens And lie in wait in their lair?

41 B al yaa tukaha cunto ku quudiya, Markii dhashiisu Ilaah u qayshadaan, Oo ay cuntola'aan daraaddeed u warwareegaan?

“Who prepares for the raven its nourishment When its young cry to God And wander about without food?
