1 S eñor, tú nos has sido por refugio De generación en generación.

Lord, You have been our dwelling place and our refuge in all generations.

2 A ntes que naciesen los montes Y formases la tierra y el mundo, Desde el siglo y hasta el siglo, tú eres Dios.

Before the mountains were brought forth or ever You had formed and given birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God.

3 R educes al hombre hasta convertirlo en polvo, Y dices: Volved, hijos de los hombres.

You turn man back to dust and corruption, and say, Return, O sons of the earthborn!

4 P orque mil años delante de tus ojos Son como el día de ayer, que pasó, Y como una de las vigilias de la noche.

For a thousand years in Your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night.

5 L os arrebatas como con torrente de aguas; son como un sueño, Como la hierba que brota en la mañana.

You carry away as with a flood; they are as a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up—

6 E n la mañana florece y crece; A la tarde es cortada, y se seca.

In the morning it flourishes and springs up; in the evening it is mown down and withers.

7 P orque con tu furor somos consumidos, Y con tu ira somos trastornados.

For we are consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath are we troubled, overwhelmed, and frightened away.

8 P usiste nuestras culpas delante de ti, Nuestras faltas ocultas, a la luz de tu mirada.

Our iniquities, our secret heart and its sins, You have set in the light of Your countenance.

9 P orque todos nuestros días marchan a su ocaso a causa de tu ira; Se acaban nuestros años como un suspiro.

For all our days pass away in Your wrath; we spend our years as a tale that is told.

10 L os años de nuestra vida son setenta años; Y, en los más robustos, hasta ochenta años; Con todo, su fortaleza es molestia y trabajos, Porque pronto pasan, y volamos.

The days of our years are threescore years and ten (seventy years)—or even, if by reason of strength, fourscore years (eighty years); yet is their pride only labor and sorrow, for it is soon gone, and we fly away.

11 ¿ Quién conoce el poder de tu ira, Y quién conoce tu enojo como los que te temen?

Who knows the power of Your anger? And Your wrath, who connects it with the reverent and worshipful fear that is due You?

12 E nséñanos de tal modo a contar nuestros días, Que entre la sabiduría en nuestro corazón.

So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom.

13 V uélvete, oh Jehová; ¿hasta cuándo? Ten compasión de tus siervos.

Turn, O Lord! How long—? Revoke Your sentence and be compassionate and at ease toward Your servants.

14 D e mañana sácianos de tu misericordia, Y cantaremos y nos alegraremos todos nuestros días.

O satisfy us with Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 A légranos a la medida de los días en que nos afligiste, Y de los años en que vimos el mal.

Make us glad in proportion to the days in which You have afflicted us and to the years in which we have suffered evil.

16 M anifiéstese a tus siervos tu obra, Y tu gloria, a sus hijos.

Let Your work be revealed to Your servants, and Your majesty to their children.

17 D escienda el favor del Señor, nuestro Dios, sobre nosotros, Y ordena en nosotros la obra de nuestras manos; Confirma tú la obra de nuestras manos.

And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work of our hands—yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish it.
