1 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová en el año noveno, en el mes décimo, a los diez días del mes, diciendo:

Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

2 H ijo de hombre, escribe la fecha de este día, de este día mismo; en este mismo día ha embestido a Jerusalén el rey de Babilonia.

Son of man, record the name of the day, even of this same day; the king of Babylon set himself against and assailed Jerusalem this same day.

3 Y propón una parábola acerca de la casa rebelde, y diles: Así dice el Señor Jehová: Pon una olla, ponla, y echa también en ella agua;

And utter a parable against the rebellious house and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Put on a pot; put it on and also pour water into it.

4 a ñade sus trozos, todos sus trozos buenos, pierna y espalda; llénala de huesos escogidos.

Put into it the pieces, all the good pieces, the thigh and the shoulder; fill it with the choice of the bones.

5 T oma lo mejor del rebaño, y también apila los huesos debajo de ella; haz que hierva bien; que se cuezan también sus huesos dentro de ella.

Take the choicest of the flock and burn also the unused bones under it, and make it boil well and seethe its bones in.

6 P ues así dice el Señor Jehová: ¡Ay de la ciudad de sangres, de la olla herrumbrosa cuya herrumbre no ha sido quitada! Sácala trozo por trozo, sin echar suerte sobre ella.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust and scum are in it and whose rust and scum have not gone out of it! Take out of it piece by piece, without making any choice.

7 P orque su sangre está en medio de ella; sobre una piedra desnuda la ha derramado; no la derramó sobre la tierra para que fuese cubierta con el polvo.

For the blood she has shed remains in the midst of her; she put it upon the bare rock; she did not pour it on the ground to cover it with dust.

8 P ara hacer subir la ira, para hacer venganza, yo he puesto su sangre sobre la dura piedra, para que no sea cubierta.

That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have put her blood upon the bare rock, that it would not be covered.

9 P or tanto, así dice el Señor Jehová: ¡Ay de la ciudad de sangres! Pues también yo haré una gran hoguera,

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Woe to the bloodguilty city! Also I will make the pile great.

10 a pilando la leña, y encendiendo el fuego para consumir la carne, y haciendo la salsa; para que también los huesos sean quemados.

Heap on wood, kindle the fire and make it hot, boil well the meat and mix the spices, pour out the broth when thick, and let the bones be burned up.

11 A sentando después la olla vacía sobre sus brasas, para que se caldee, y se queme su fondo, y se funda en ella su impureza, y se consuma su herrumbre.

Then set back empty upon the coals, that the bronze of it may be hot and may glow and the filthiness of it may be melted in it and the rust and scum of it may be consumed.

12 E n vano me fatigué, pues no salió de ella su mucha herrumbre. Sólo en fuego será su herrumbre consumida.

She has wearied herself and Me with toil; yet her great rust and scum go not forth out of her, for however hotly the fire burns, her thick rust and filth will not go out of her by fire.

13 A causa de tu inmunda lujuria, porque he querido purificarte, pero tú no te limpiaste de tu inmundicia, nunca más te limpiarás, hasta que yo haya saciado mi ira sobre ti.

In your filthiness is abomination; because I would have cleansed you and you were not cleansed, you shall not be cleansed from your filthiness any more until I have satisfied My wrath against and upon you.

14 Y o Jehová he hablado; vendrá, y yo lo haré. No me volveré atrás, ni tendré compasión, ni me arrepentiré; según tus caminos y tus obras te juzgarán, dice el Señor Jehová. Muerte de la esposa de Ezequiel

I the Lord have spoken it; it shall come to pass and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I relent; according to your ways and according to your doings shall they judge and punish you, says the Lord God.

15 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

16 H ijo de hombre, he aquí que yo te quito de golpe el deleite de tus ojos; no endeches, ni llores, ni corran tus lágrimas.

Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes at a single stroke. Yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears flow.

17 S uspira en silencio sin hacer luto de mortuorios; ata tu turbante sobre ti, y pon tus zapatos en tus pies, y no te cubras con rebozo, ni comas pan de enlutados.

Sigh and groan, but not aloud; make no mourning for the dead; bind your turban upon your head and put your shoes on your feet, and do not cover your beard or eat the bread of mourners.

18 H ablé al pueblo por la mañana, y a la tarde murió mi mujer; y a la mañana hice como me fue mandado.

So I spoke to the people in the morning and in the evening my wife died, and I did the next morning as I was commanded.

19 Y me dijo el pueblo: ¿No nos explicarás qué significan para nosotros estas cosas que haces?

And the people said to me, Will you not tell us what these things are supposed to mean to us, that you are acting as you do?

20 Y yo les dije: La palabra de Jehová vino a mí, diciendo:

Then I answered them, The word of the Lord came to me, saying,

21 D i a la casa de Israel: Así dice el Señor Jehová: He aquí yo profanaré mi santuario, la gloria de vuestro poderío, el deseo de vuestros ojos y la pasión de vuestra alma; y vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas que dejasteis caerán a espada.

Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will profane My sanctuary— pride as your strength, the desire of your eyes, and the pity and sympathy of your soul; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.

22 Y haréis de la manera que yo hice; no os cubriréis con rebozo, ni comeréis pan de hombres en luto.

And you shall do as I have done; you shall not cover your beard nor eat the bread of mourning,

23 V uestros turbantes estarán sobre vuestras cabezas, y vuestros zapatos en vuestros pies; no endecharéis ni lloraréis, sino que os consumiréis a causa de vuestras maldades, y gemiréis unos con otros.

And your turbans shall be upon your heads and your shoes upon your feet; you shall not mourn or weep, but you shall pine away for your iniquities (your guilt) and sigh and groan to one another.

24 E zequiel, pues, os será por señal; según todas las cosas que él ha hecho, haréis; cuando esto ocurra, entonces sabréis que yo soy el Señor Jehová.

Thus Ezekiel is to you a sign; according to all that he has done you shall do. And when this comes, you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord God.

25 Y tú, hijo de hombre, ¿no sucederá, el día que yo les arrebate su fortaleza, el gozo de su gloria, el deleite de sus ojos y el anhelo de sus almas, y también sus hijos y sus hijas,

And you, son of man, on the day when I take from them their strength and their stronghold, their joy and their glory, the delight of their eyes and their hearts’ chief desire, and also their sons and their daughters—

26 q ue ese día vendrá a ti uno que haya escapado para hacértelo oír con tus propios oídos?

On that day an escaped fugitive shall come to you to cause you to hear of it with your own ears.

27 E n aquel día se abrirá tu boca para hablar con el fugitivo, y hablarás, y no estarás más mudo; y así les serás por señal, y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.

In that day your mouth shall be open to him who has escaped, and you shall speak and be no more speechless, and you shall be a sign to them and they shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord.
