1 J ehová, escucha mi oración, Y llegue a ti mi clamor.

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come to You.

2 N o escondas de mí tu rostro en el día de mi angustia; Inclina a mí tu oído; Apresúrate a responderme el día en que te invoque.

Hide not Your face from me in the day when I am in distress! Incline Your ear to me; in the day when I call, answer me speedily.

3 P orque mis días se desvanecen como humo, Y mis huesos están quemados cual tizón.

For my days consume away like smoke, and my bones burn like a firebrand or like a hearth.

4 M i corazón está marchito como la hierba cortada, Y me olvido de comer mi pan.

My heart is smitten like grass and withered, so that I forget to eat my food.

5 P or la voz de mis gemidos Mis huesos se han pegado a mi piel.

By reason of my loud groaning my flesh cleaves to my bones.

6 S oy semejante al pelícano del desierto; Soy como búho entre ruinas;

I am like a melancholy pelican or vulture of the wilderness; I am like a owl of the waste places.

7 M e desvelo y gimo Como el pájaro solitario sobre el tejado.

I am sleepless and lie awake, like a bereaved sparrow alone on the housetop.

8 C ada día me insultan mis enemigos; Los que contra mí se enfurecen, se han conjurado para maldecirme.

My adversaries taunt and reproach me all the day; and they who are angry with me use my name as a curse.

9 P or lo cual yo como ceniza a manera de pan, Y mi bebida mezclo con lágrimas,

For I have eaten the ashes as if they were bread and have mingled my drink with weeping

10 A causa de tu enojo y de tu ira; Pues me alzaste en vilo y me has arrojado.

Because of Your indignation and Your wrath, for You have taken me up and cast me away.

11 M is días son como sombra que se alarga, Y me he secado como la hierba.

My days are like an evening shadow that stretches out and declines; and I am withered like grass.

12 M as tú, Jehová, permanecerás para siempre, Y tu memoria de generación en generación.

But You, O Lord, are enthroned forever; and the fame of Your name endures to all generations.

13 T e levantarás y tendrás misericordia de Sión, Porque es tiempo de tener misericordia de ella, porque el plazo ha llegado.

You will arise and have mercy and loving-kindness for Zion, for it is time to have pity and compassion for her; yes, the set time has come.

14 P orque tus siervos aman sus piedras, Y del polvo de ella tienen compasión.

For Your servants take pleasure in the stones and show pity for her dust.

15 E ntonces las naciones temerán el nombre de Jehová, Y todos los reyes de la tierra tu gloria;

So the nations shall fear and worshipfully revere the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory.

16 P or cuanto Jehová habrá edificado a Sión, Y en su gloria será manifestado;

When the Lord builds up Zion, He will appear in His glory;

17 H abrá considerado la oración de los desvalidos, Y no habrá desechado el ruego de ellos.

He will regard the plea of the destitute and will not despise their prayer.

18 S e escribirá esto para la generación venidera; Y el pueblo que está por nacer alabará a JAH,

Let this be recorded for the generation yet unborn, that a people yet to be created shall praise the Lord.

19 P orque miró desde lo alto de su santuario; Jehová miró desde los cielos a la tierra,

For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary, from heaven did the Lord behold the earth,

20 P ara escuchar el gemido de los cautivos, Para librar a los sentenciados a muerte;

To hear the sighing and groaning of the prisoner, to loose those who are appointed to death,

21 P ara pregonar en Sión el nombre de Jehová, Y su alabanza en Jerusalén,

So that men may declare the name of the Lord in Zion and His praise in Jerusalem

22 C uando los pueblos se congreguen a una, Y los reyes para dar culto a Jehová.

When peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to worship and serve the Lord.

23 É l debilitó mi fuerza en el camino; Acortó mis días.

He has afflicted and weakened my strength, humbling and bringing me low in the way; He has shortened my days.

24 D ije: Dios mío, no me cortes en la mitad de mis días; Por generación de generaciones son tus años.

I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days, You Whose years continue throughout all generations.

25 D esde el principio tú fundaste la tierra, Y los cielos son obra de tus manos.

At the beginning You existed and laid the foundations of the earth; the heavens are the work of Your hands.

26 E llos perecerán, mas tú permanecerás; Y todos ellos como una vestidura se envejecerán; Como un vestido los mudarás, y serán mudados;

They shall perish, but You shall remain and endure; yes, all of them shall wear out and become old like a garment. Like clothing You shall change them, and they shall be changed and pass away.

27 P ero tú eres el mismo, Y tus años no se acabarán.

But You remain the same, and Your years shall have no end.

28 L os hijos de tus siervos habitarán seguros, Y su descendencia será establecida delante de ti.

The children of Your servants shall dwell safely and continue, and their descendants shall be established before You.
