1 E stos son los estatutos y decretos que cuidaréis de poner por obra en la tierra que Jehová el Dios de tus padres te ha dado en posesión, todos los días que viváis sobre su suelo.

These are the statutes and ordinances which you shall be watchful to do in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, gives you to possess all the days you live on the earth.

2 D estruiréis enteramente todos los lugares donde las naciones que vosotros heredaréis sirvieron a sus dioses, en los montes altos, y en los collados, y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.

You shall surely destroy all the places where the nations you dispossess served their gods, upon the high mountains and the hills and under every green tree.

3 D erribaréis sus altares, y quebraréis sus estatuas, y sus imágenes de Aserá consumiréis con fuego; y destruiréis las esculturas de sus dioses, y raeréis su nombre de aquel lugar.

You shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their pillars and burn their Asherim with fire; you shall hew down the graven images of their gods and destroy their name out of that place.

4 N o haréis así a Jehová vuestro Dios,

You shall not behave so toward the Lord your God.

5 s ino que el lugar que Jehová vuestro Dios escoja de entre todas vuestras tribus, para poner allí su nombre para su habitación, ése buscaréis, y allá iréis.

But you shall seek the place which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put His Name and make His dwelling place, and there shall you come;

6 Y allí llevaréis vuestros holocaustos, vuestros sacrificios, vuestros diezmos, y la ofrenda elevada de vuestras manos, vuestros votos, vuestras ofrendas voluntarias, y las primicias de vuestras vacas y de vuestras ovejas;

And there you shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the offering of your hands, and your vows and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock.

7 y comeréis allí delante de Jehová vuestro Dios, y os alegraréis, vosotros y vuestras familias, en toda obra de vuestras manos en la cual Jehová tu Dios te haya bendecido.

And there you shall eat before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice in all to which you put your hand, you and your households, in which the Lord your God has blessed you.

8 N o haréis como lo que hacemos nosotros aquí ahora, cada uno lo que bien le parece,

You shall not do according to all we do here this day, every man doing whatever looks right in his own eyes.

9 p orque hasta ahora no habéis entrado al reposo y a la heredad que os da Jehová vuestro Dios.

For you have not yet come to the rest and to the inheritance which the Lord your God gives you.

10 M as pasaréis el Jordán, y habitaréis en la tierra que Jehová vuestro Dios os hace heredar; y él os dará reposo de todos vuestros enemigos alrededor, y habitaréis seguros.

But when you go over the Jordan and dwell in the land which the Lord your God causes you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies round about so that you dwell in safety,

11 Y al lugar que Jehová vuestro Dios escoja para poner en él su nombre, allí llevaréis todas las cosas que yo os mando: vuestros holocaustos, vuestros sacrificios, vuestros diezmos, las ofrendas elevadas de vuestras manos, y todo lo escogido de los votos que hayáis prometido a Jehová.

Then there shall be a place which the Lord your God shall choose to cause His Name to dwell there; to it you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes and what the hand presents, and all your choicest offerings which you vow to the Lord.

12 Y os alegraréis delante de Jehová vuestro Dios, vosotros, vuestros hijos, vuestras hijas, vuestros siervos y vuestras siervas, y el levita que habita en vuestras poblaciones; por cuanto no tiene parte ni heredad con vosotros. Precisiones sobre los sacrificios

And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your sons and your daughters, and your menservants and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your towns, since he has no part or inheritance with you.

13 C uídate de no ofrecer tus holocaustos en cualquier lugar que veas;

Be watchful not to offer your burnt offerings in every place you see.

14 s ino que en el lugar que Jehová escoja, en una de tus tribus, allí ofrecerás tus holocaustos, y allí harás todo lo que yo te mando.

But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all I command you.

15 C on todo, podrás matar y comer carne en todas tus poblaciones conforme a tu deseo, según la bendición que Jehová tu Dios te haya dado; tanto el inmundo como el limpio la podrán comer, como si se tratara de gacela o de ciervo.

However, you may kill and eat flesh in any of your towns whenever you desire, according to the provision for the support of life with which the Lord your God has blessed you; those unclean and the clean may eat of it, as of the gazelle and the hart.

16 S olamente que sangre no comeréis; sobre la tierra la derramaréis como agua.

Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it upon the ground as water.

17 N i comerás en tus poblaciones el diezmo de tu grano, de tu vino o de tu aceite, ni las primicias de tus vacas, ni de tus ovejas, ni los votos que prometas, ni las ofrendas voluntarias, ni las ofrendas elevadas de tus manos;

You may not eat within your towns the tithe of your grain or of your new wine or of your oil, or the firstlings of your herd or flock, or anything you have vowed, or your freewill offerings, or the offerings from your hand.

18 s ino que delante de Jehová tu Dios las comerás, en el lugar que Jehová tu Dios haya escogido, tú, tu hijo, tu hija, tu siervo, tu sierva, y el levita que habita en tus poblaciones; te alegrarás delante de Jehová tu Dios de toda la obra de tus manos.

But you shall eat them before the Lord your God in the place which the Lord your God shall choose, you and your son and your daughter, your manservant and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your towns; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God in all that you undertake.

19 T en cuidado de no desamparar al levita en todos tus días sobre la tierra.

Take heed not to forsake or neglect the Levite as long as you live in your land.

20 C uando Jehová tu Dios ensanche tu territorio, como él te ha dicho, y tú digas: Comeré carne, porque deseaste comerla, conforme a lo que deseaste podrás comer.

When the Lord your God enlarges your territory, as He promised you, and you say, I will eat flesh, because you crave flesh, you may eat flesh whenever you desire.

21 S i está lejos de ti el lugar que Jehová tu Dios escoja para poner allí su nombre, podrás matar de tus vacas y de tus ovejas que Jehová te haya dado, como te he mandado yo, y podrás comerlas en tus ciudades a la medida de tus deseos.

If the place where the Lord your God has chosen to put His Name is too far from you, then you shall kill from your herd or flock which the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you; eat in your towns as much as you desire.

22 L o mismo que se come la gacela y el ciervo, así las podrás comer; el inmundo y el limpio podrán comer también de ellas.

Just as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so you may eat of it; the unclean and the clean alike may eat of it.

23 S olamente que te mantengas firme en no comer sangre; porque la sangre es la vida, y no comerás la vida juntamente con su carne.

Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you may not eat the life with the flesh.

24 N o la comerás; en tierra la derramarás como agua.

You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out on the earth like water.

25 N o comerás de ella, para que te vaya bien a ti y a tus hijos después de ti, cuando hagas lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová.

You shall not eat it, that all may go well with you and with your children after you, when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.

26 P ero las cosas que hayas consagrado, y tus votos, las tomarás, y vendrás con ellas al lugar que Jehová haya escogido;

Only your holy things which you have and what you have vowed you shall take, and go to the place which the Lord shall choose.

27 y ofrecerás tus holocaustos, la carne y la sangre, sobre el altar de Jehová tu Dios; y la sangre de tus sacrificios será derramada sobre el altar de Jehová tu Dios, y podrás comer la carne.

And offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the Lord your God; and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of the Lord your God, and you may eat the flesh.

28 G uarda y escucha todas estas palabras que yo te mando, para que haciendo lo bueno y lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová tu Dios, te vaya bien a ti y a tus hijos después de ti para siempre. Advertencia contra la idolatría

Be watchful and obey all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and with your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.

29 C uando Jehová tu Dios haya destruido delante de ti las naciones adonde tú vas para poseerlas, y las heredes, y habites en su tierra,

When the Lord your God cuts off before you the nations whom you go to dispossess, and you dispossess them and live in their land,

30 g uárdate que no tropieces yendo en pos de ellas, después que sean destruidas delante de ti; no preguntes acerca de sus dioses, diciendo: ¿Cómo servían aquellas naciones a sus dioses? Yo también les serviré así.

Be watchful that you are not ensnared into following them after they have been destroyed before you and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? We will do likewise.

31 N o harás así a Jehová tu Dios; porque todo lo que es abominable a Jehová, lo que él detesta, hicieron ellos para sus dioses; pues aun a sus hijos y a sus hijas quemaban en el fuego a sus dioses.

You shall not do so to the Lord your God, for every abominable thing which the Lord hates they have done for their gods. For even their sons and their daughters they have burned in the fire to their gods.

32 C uidarás de hacer todo lo que yo te mando; no añadirás a ello, ni de ello quitarás.

Whatever I command you, be watchful to do it; you shall not add to it or diminish it.
