1 A conteció que cuando Jesús terminó estas palabras, se alejó de Galilea, y se fue a la comarca de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán.

Now when Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the part of Judea that is beyond the Jordan;

2 Y le siguieron grandes multitudes, y los sanó allí.

And great throngs accompanied Him, and He cured them there.

3 E ntonces se le acercaron los fariseos para ponerle a prueba, diciéndole: ¿Es lícito a un hombre repudiar a su mujer por cualquier causa?

And Pharisees came to Him and put Him to the test by asking, Is it lawful and right to dismiss and repudiate and divorce one’s wife for any and every cause?

4 É l, respondiendo, les dijo: ¿No habéis leído que el que los creó, desde el principio los hizo varón y hembra,

He replied, Have you never read that He Who made them from the beginning made them male and female,

5 y dijo: Por eso el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su mujer, y los dos vendrán a ser una sola carne?

And said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be united firmly (joined inseparably) to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?

6 A sí que ya no son dos, sino una sola carne; por tanto, lo que Dios juntó, no lo separe el hombre.

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (separate).

7 L e dijeron: ¿Por qué, pues, mandó Moisés dar carta de divorcio, y repudiarla?

They said to Him, Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce and thus to dismiss and repudiate a wife?

8 É l les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón, Moisés os permitió repudiar a vuestras mujeres; pero no fue así desde el principio.

He said to them, Because of the hardness (stubbornness and perversity) of your hearts Moses permitted you to dismiss and repudiate and divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been so.

9 Y yo os digo que cualquiera que repudia a su mujer, salvo por causa de fornicación, y se casa con otra, comete adulterio; y el que se casa con la repudiada, comete adulterio.

I say to you: whoever dismisses (repudiates, divorces) his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

10 L e dijeron sus discípulos: Si así es la condición del hombre con su mujer, no conviene casarse.

The disciples said to Him, If the case of a man with his wife is like this, it is neither profitable nor advisable to marry.

11 E ntonces él les dijo: No todos son capaces de comprender esta doctrina, sino aquellos a quienes ha sido dado.

But He said to them, Not all men can accept this saying, but it is for those to whom it has been given.

12 P ues hay eunucos que nacieron así del vientre de su madre, y hay eunucos que fueron hechos eunucos por los hombres, y hay eunucos que se hicieron eunucos a sí mismos por causa del reino de los cielos. El que sea capaz de aceptar esto, que lo acepte. Jesucristo bendice a los niños

For there are eunuchs who have been born incapable of marriage; and there are eunuchs who have been made so by men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves incapable of marriage for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let him who is able to accept this accept it.

13 E ntonces le fueron presentados unos niños, para que pusiese las manos sobre ellos, y orase; y los discípulos les reprendieron.

Then little children were brought to Jesus, that He might put His hands on them and pray; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

14 P ero Jesús dijo: Dejad a los niños, y no les impidáis que vengan a mí; porque de los tales es el reino de los cielos.

But He said, Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven composed.

15 Y habiendo puesto sobre ellos las manos, se fue de allí. El joven rico

And He put His hands upon them, and then went on His way.

16 E ntonces se le acercó uno y le dijo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué cosa buena haré para tener la vida eterna?

And behold, there came a man up to Him, saying, Teacher, what excellent and perfectly and essentially good deed must I do to possess eternal life?

17 É l le dijo: ¿Por qué me dices bueno? Ninguno hay bueno sino uno: Dios. Mas si quieres entrar en la vida, guarda los mandamientos.

And He said to him, Why do you ask Me about the perfectly and essentially good? There is only One Who is good —God. If you would enter into the Life, you must continually keep the commandments.

18 L e dijo: ¿Cuáles? Y Jesús le dijo: No matarás. No adulterarás. No hurtarás. No dirás falso testimonio.

He said to Him, What sort of commandments? And Jesus answered, You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,

19 H onra a tu padre y a tu madre; y: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.

Honor your father and your mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

20 E l joven le dijo: Todo esto lo he guardado desde mi juventud. ¿Qué me falta todavía?

The young man said, I have observed all these from my youth; what still do I lack?

21 J esús le dijo: Si quieres ser perfecto, anda, vende tus posesiones, y dalo a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven y sígueme.

Jesus answered him, If you would be perfect '> have that spiritual maturity which accompanies self-sacrificing character], go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; and come, be My disciple.

22 A l oír el joven estas palabras, se fue triste, porque era poseedor de muchos bienes.

But when the young man heard this, he went away sad (grieved and in much distress), for he had great possessions.

23 E ntonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: De cierto os digo, que difícilmente entrará un rico en el reino de los cielos.

And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you, it will be difficult for a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven.

24 O tra vez os digo: Es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja, que el que un rico entre en el reino de Dios.

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of heaven.

25 S us discípulos, al oír esto, se asombraban en gran manera, diciendo: ¿Quién, entonces, podrá ser salvo?

When the disciples heard this, they were utterly puzzled (astonished, bewildered), saying, Who then can be saved '> from eternal death]?

26 J esús, fijando en ellos la mirada, les dijo: Para los hombres, eso es imposible; mas para Dios todo es posible.

But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.

27 E ntonces Pedro tomó la palabra y le dijo: Mira que nosotros lo hemos dejado todo, y te hemos seguido; ¿qué, pues, tendremos?

Then Peter answered Him, saying, Behold, we have left all and have become Your disciples. What then shall we receive?

28 Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo que en la regeneración, cuando el Hijo del Hombre se siente en el trono de su gloria, vosotros que me habéis seguido os sentaréis también sobre doce tronos, para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.

Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, in the new age '> Messianic rebirth of the world], when the Son of Man shall sit down on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 Y todo el que haya dejado casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o mujer, o hijos, o tierras, por mi nombre, recibirá cien veces más, y heredará la vida eterna.

And anyone and everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for My name’s sake will receive many times more and will inherit eternal life.

30 P ero muchos primeros serán últimos; y últimos, primeros.

But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
