1 S alva, oh Jehová, porque se acabaron los compasivos; Porque han desaparecido los leales de entre los hijos de los hombres.

Help, Lord! For principled and godly people are here no more; faithfulness and the faithful vanish from among the sons of men.

2 H abla mentira cada uno con su prójimo; Hablan con labios lisonjeros, y con doblez de corazón.

To his neighbor each one speaks words without use or worth or truth; with flattering lips and double heart they speak.

3 A rranque Jehová todos los labios lisonjeros, Y la lengua que habla jactanciosamente;

May the Lord cut off all flattering lips and the tongues that speak proud boasting,

4 A los que han dicho: Por nuestra lengua prevaleceremos; Nuestros labios por nosotros; ¿quién va a ser amo nuestro?

Those who say, With our tongues we prevail; our lips are our own —who is lord and master over us?

5 P or la opresión de los humildes; por el gemido de los menesterosos, Ahora me levantaré, dice Jehová; Traigo auxilio a quien por él suspira.

Now will I arise, says the Lord, because the poor are oppressed, because of the groans of the needy; I will set him in safety and in the salvation for which he pants.

6 L as palabras de Jehová son palabras sinceras, Como plata refinada en horno de tierra, Purificada siete veces.

The words and promises of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times over.

7 T ú, Jehová, nos guardarás; De esta generación nos preservarás para siempre.

You will keep them and preserve them, O Lord; You will guard and keep us from this generation forever.

8 D e los malvados que nos cercan, Porque la vileza es exaltada entre los hijos de los hombres.

The wicked walk or prowl about on every side, as vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
