1 V isión de Isaías hijo de Amoz, la cual vio acerca de Judá y Jerusalén en días de Uzías, Jotam, Acaz y Ezequías, reyes de Judá. Corrupción de Israel

The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

2 O íd, cielos, y escucha tú, tierra; porque habla Jehová: Crié hijos, y los engrandecí, y ellos se rebelaron contra mí.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord has spoken: I have nourished and brought up sons and have made them great and exalted, but they have rebelled against Me and broken away from Me.

3 E l buey conoce a su dueño, y el asno el pesebre de su señor; pero Israel no conoce, mi pueblo no tiene discernimiento.

The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib, but Israel does not know or recognize Me, My people do not consider or understand.

4 ¡ Oh gente pecadora, pueblo cargado de maldad, raza de perversos, hijos depravados! Dejaron a Jehová, despreciaron al Santo de Israel, le volvieron la espalda.

Ah, sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, sons who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised and shown contempt and provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger, they have become utterly estranged (alienated).

5 ¿ Por qué querréis ser castigados aún? ¿Todavía os rebelaréis? Toda cabeza está enferma, y todo corazón doliente.

Why should you be stricken and punished any more ? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint (feeble, sick, and nauseated).

6 D esde la planta del pie hasta la cabeza no hay en él cosa sana, sino herida, hinchazón y podrida llaga; no están curadas, ni vendadas, ni suavizadas con aceite.

From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness or health in —but wounds and bruises and fresh and bleeding stripes; they have not been pressed out and closed up or bound up or softened with oil.

7 V uestra tierra está desolada, vuestras ciudades puestas a fuego, vuestra tierra comida por extranjeros delante de vosotros, y asolada como asolamiento de extraños.

your country lies desolate, your cities are burned with fire; your land—strangers devour it in your very presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by aliens.

8 Y queda la hija de Sión como enramada en viña, y como cabaña en melonar, como ciudad sitiada.

And the Daughter of Zion is left like a booth in a vineyard, like a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, like a besieged city.

9 S i Jehová de los ejércitos no nos hubiese dejado un resto pequeño, habríamos llegado a ser como Sodoma, y semejantes a Gomorra. Contra el formalismo religioso

Except the Lord of hosts had left us a very small remnant, we should have been like Sodom, and we should have been like Gomorrah.

10 G obernantes de Sodoma, oíd la palabra de Jehová; escuchad la instrucción de nuestro Dios, pueblo de Gomorra.

Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers or judges of Sodom! Give ear to the law and the teaching of our God, you people of Gomorrah!

11 ¿ Para qué me sirve, dice Jehová, la multitud de vuestros sacrificios? Hastiado estoy de holocaustos de carneros y de sebo de animales gordos; no quiero sangre de bueyes, ni de ovejas, ni de machos cabríos.

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me ? says the Lord. I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bulls or of lambs or of he-goats.

12 ¿ Quién demanda esto de vuestras manos, cuando venís a presentaros delante de mí para hollar mis atrios?

When you come to appear before Me, who requires of you that your trample My courts?

13 N o me traigáis más vana ofrenda; el incienso me es abominación; novilunios y sábados, el convocar asamblea, no lo puedo sufrir; son iniquidad vuestras fiestas solemnes.

Bring no more offerings of vanity (emptiness, falsity, vainglory, and futility); incense is an abomination to Me; the New Moons and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot endure— iniquity and profanation, even the solemn meeting.

14 V uestras lunas nuevas y vuestras fiestas solemnes las tiene aborrecidas mi alma; me son gravosas; cansado estoy de soportarlas.

Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts My soul hates. They are an oppressive burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them.

15 C uando extendáis vuestras manos, yo esconderé de vosotros mis ojos; asimismo cuando multipliquéis la oración, yo no oiré; llenas están de sangre vuestras manos.

And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood!

16 L avaos, limpiaos; quitad la iniquidad de vuestras obras de delante de mis ojos; dejad de hacer lo malo;

Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes! Cease to do evil,

17 a prended a hacer el bien; buscad la justicia, reprimid al opresor, defended la causa del huérfano, amparad a la viuda.

Learn to do right! Seek justice, relieve the oppressed, and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.

18 V enid luego, dice Jehová, y estemos a cuenta: aunque vuestros pecados sean como la grana, como la nieve serán emblanquecidos; aunque sean rojos como el carmesí, vendrán a ser como blanca lana.

Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.

19 S i queréis y obedecéis, comeréis el bien de la tierra;

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;

20 s i rehusáis y sois rebeldes, seréis consumidos a espada; porque la boca de Jehová lo ha dicho. Lamento sobre Jerusalén

But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.

21 ¡ Cómo se ha convertido en ramera la ciudad fiel! Llena estaba de justicia, en ella habitaba la equidad; pero ahora, los homicidas.

How the faithful city has become an harlot, she who was full of justice! Uprightness and right standing with God lodged in her—but now murderers.

22 T u plata se ha convertido en escorias, tu vino está mezclado con agua.

Your silver has become dross, your wine is mixed with water.

23 T us príncipes, rebeldes y compañeros de ladrones; todos aman el soborno, y van tras las recompensas; no hacen justicia al huérfano, ni llega a ellos la causa de la viuda.

Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves; everyone loves bribes and runs after compensation and rewards. They judge not for the fatherless nor defend them, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.

24 P or tanto, dice el Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos, el Fuerte de Israel: Ea, tomaré satisfacción de mis adversarios, me vengaré de mis enemigos;

Therefore says the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will appease Myself on My adversaries and avenge Myself on My enemies.

25 y volveré mi mano contra ti, y limpiaré hasta lo más puro tus escorias, y quitaré todas tus impurezas.

And I will bring My hand again upon you and thoroughly purge away your dross and take away all your tin or alloy.

26 R estauraré tus jueces como al principio, y tus consejeros como eran antes; entonces te llamarán Ciudad de justicia, Ciudad fiel.

And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning; afterward you shall be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City.

27 S ión será rescatada con justicia, y los convertidos de ella con rectitud.

Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God).

28 P ero los rebeldes y pecadores a una serán quebrantados, y los que dejan a Jehová serán consumidos.

But the crushing and destruction of rebels and sinners shall be together, and they who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

29 P orque se avergonzarán de las encinas que amasteis, y os afrentarán los huertos que escogisteis.

For you will be ashamed of the oak or terebinth trees in which you found pleasure, and you will blush with shame for the gardens which you have chosen.

30 P orque seréis como encina a la que se le cae la hoja, y como huerto al que le faltan las aguas.

For you shall be like an oak or terebinth whose leaf withers, and like a garden that has no water.

31 Y el hombre fuerte será como estopa, y su trabajo, como centella; y ambos serán encendidos juntamente, y no habrá quien apague.

And the strong shall become like tow and become tinder, and his work like a spark, and they shall both burn together, with none to quench them.
