1 S almo de David. BENDITO sea Jehová, mi roca, Que enseña mis manos á la batalla, Y mis dedos á la guerra:

Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my keen and firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight—

2 M isericordia mía y mi castillo, Altura mía y mi libertador, Escudo mío, en quien he confiado; El que allana mi pueblo delante de mí.

My Steadfast Love and my Fortress, my High Tower and my Deliverer, my Shield and He in Whom I trust and take refuge, Who subdues my people under me.

3 O h Jehová, ¿qué es el hombre, para que de él conozcas? ¿O el hijo del hombre, para que lo estimes?

Lord, what is man that You take notice of him? Or son of man that You take account of him?

4 E l hombre es semejante á la vanidad: Sus días son como la sombra que pasa.

Man is like vanity and a breath; his days are as a shadow that passes away.

5 O h Jehová, inclina tus cielos y desciende: Toca los montes, y humeen.

Bow Your heavens, O Lord, and come down; touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6 D espide relámpagos, y disípalos, Envía tus saetas, y contúrbalos.

Cast forth lightning and scatter; send out Your arrows and embarrass and frustrate them.

7 E nvía tu mano desde lo alto; Redímeme, y sácame de las muchas aguas, De la mano de los hijos de extraños;

Stretch forth Your hand from above; rescue me and deliver me out of great waters, from the hands of hostile aliens (tribes around us)

8 C uya boca habla vanidad, Y su diestra es diestra de mentira.

Whose mouths speak deceit and whose right hands are right hands fraudulent oaths.

9 O h Dios, á ti cantaré canción nueva: Con salterio, con decacordio cantaré á ti.

I will sing a new song to You, O God; upon a harp, an instrument of ten strings, will I offer praises to You.

10 T ú, el que da salud á los reyes, El que redime á David su siervo de maligna espada.

You are He Who gives salvation to kings, Who rescues David His servant from the hurtful sword.

11 R edímeme, y sálvame de mano de los hijos extraños, Cuya boca habla vanidad, Y su diestra es diestra de mentira.

Rescue me and deliver me out of the power of alien whose mouths speak deceit and whose right hands are right hands fraudulent oaths.

12 Q ue nuestros hijos sean como plantas crecidas en su juventud; Nuestras hijas como las esquinas labradas á manera de las de un palacio;

When our sons shall be as plants grown large in their youth and our daughters as sculptured corner pillars hewn like those of a palace;

13 N uestros graneros llenos, provistos de toda suerte de grano; Nuestros ganados, que paran á millares y diez millares en nuestras plazas:

When our garners are full, affording all manner of store, and our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our pastures;

14 Q ue nuestros bueyes estén fuertes para el trabajo; Que no tengamos asalto, ni que hacer salida, Ni grito de alarma en nuestras plazas.

When our oxen are well loaded; when there is no invasion and no going forth and no outcry in our streets;

15 B ienaventurado el pueblo que tiene esto: Bienaventurado el pueblo cuyo Dios es Jehová.

Happy and blessed are the people who are in such a case; yes, happy (blessed, fortunate, prosperous, to be envied) are the people whose God is the Lord!
