1 L ivra-me dos meus inimigos, ó Deus; põe-me fora do alcance dos meus agressores.

Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: Set me on high from them that rise up against me.

2 L ivra-me dos que praticam o mal e salva-me dos assassinos.

Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from the bloodthirsty men.

3 V ê como ficam à minha espreita! Homens cruéis conspiram contra mim, sem que eu tenha cometido qualquer delito ou pecado, ó Senhor.

For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; The mighty gather themselves together against me: Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.

4 M esmo eu não tendo culpa de nada, eles se preparam às pressas para atacar-me. Levanta-te para ajudar-me; olha para a situação em que me encontro!

They run and prepare themselves without my fault: Awake thou to help me, and behold.

5 Ó Senhor, Deus dos Exércitos, ó Deus de Israel! Desperta para castigar todas as nações; não tenhas misericórdia dos traidores perversos. Pausa

Even thou, O Jehovah God of hosts, the God of Israel, Arise to visit all the nations: Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah

6 E les voltam ao cair da tarde, rosnando como cães e rondando a cidade.

They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go round about the city.

7 V ê que ameaças saem de suas bocas; seus lábios são como espadas, e dizem: “Quem nos ouvirá?”

Behold, they belch out with their mouth; Swords are in their lips: For who, say they, doth hear?

8 M as tu, Senhor, vais rir deles; caçoarás de todas aquelas nações.

But thou, O Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt have all the nations in derision.

9 Ó tu, minha força, por ti vou aguardar; tu, ó Deus, és o meu alto refúgio.

Because of his strength I will give heed unto thee; For God is my high tower.

10 O meu Deus fiel virá ao meu encontro e permitirá que eu triunfe sobre os meus inimigos.

My God with his lovingkindness will meet me: God will let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

11 M as não os mates, ó Senhor, nosso escudo, se não, o meu povo o esquecerá. Em teu poder faze-os vaguearem, e abate-os.

Slay them not, lest my people forget: Scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

12 P elos pecados de suas bocas, pelas palavras de seus lábios, sejam apanhados em seu orgulho. Pelas maldições e mentiras que pronunciam,

For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, Let them even be taken in their pride, And for cursing and lying which they speak.

13 c onsome-os em tua ira, consome-os até que não mais existam. Então se saberá até os confins da terra que Deus governa Jacó. Pausa

Consume them in wrath, consume them, so that they shall be no more: And let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, Unto the ends of the earth. Selah

14 E les voltam ao cair da tarde, rosnando como cães, e rondando a cidade.

And at evening let them return, let them howl like a dog, And go round about the city.

15 À procura de comida perambulam e, se não ficam satisfeitos, uivam.

They shall wander up and down for food, And tarry all night if they be not satisfied.

16 M as eu cantarei louvores à tua força; de manhã louvarei a tua fidelidade, pois tu és o meu alto refúgio, abrigo seguro nos tempos difíceis.

But I will sing of thy strength; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy lovingkindness in the morning: For thou hast been my high tower, And a refuge in the day of my distress.

17 Ó minha força, canto louvores a ti; tu és, ó Deus, o meu alto refúgio, o Deus que me ama.

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing praises: For God is my high tower, the God of my mercy.
