1 “ Pois o Reino dos céus é como um proprietário que saiu de manhã cedo para contratar trabalhadores para a sua vinha.

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that was a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard.

2 E le combinou pagar-lhes um denário pelo dia e mandou-os para a sua vinha.

And when he had agreed with the laborers for a shilling a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

3 “ Por volta das noves hora da manhã, ele saiu e viu outros que estavam desocupados na praça,

And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing in the marketplace idle;

4 e lhes disse: ‘Vão também trabalhar na vinha, e eu lhes pagarei o que for justo’.

and to them he said, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.

5 E eles foram. “Saindo outra vez, por volta do meio-dia e das três horas da tarde, fez a mesma coisa.

Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.

6 S aindo por volta das cinco horas da tarde, encontrou ainda outros que estavam desocupados e lhes perguntou: ‘Por que vocês estiveram aqui desocupados o dia todo?’

And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing; and he saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

7 ‘ Porque ninguém nos contratou’, responderam eles. “Ele lhes disse: ‘Vão vocês também trabalhar na vinha’.

They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard.

8 “ Ao cair da tarde, o dono da vinha disse a seu administrador: ‘Chame os trabalhadores e pague-lhes o salário, começando com os últimos contratados e terminando nos primeiros’.

And when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the laborers, and pay them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

9 “ Vieram os trabalhadores contratados por volta das cinco horas da tarde, e cada um recebeu um denário.

And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a shilling.

10 Q uando vieram os que tinham sido contratados primeiro, esperavam receber mais. Mas cada um deles também recebeu um denário.

And when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received every man a shilling.

11 Q uando o receberam, começaram a se queixar do proprietário da vinha,

And when they received it, they murmured against the householder,

12 d izendo-lhe: ‘Estes homens contratados por último trabalharam apenas uma hora, e o senhor os igualou a nós, que suportamos o peso do trabalho e o calor do dia’.

saying, These last have spent but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.

13 “ Mas ele respondeu a um deles: ‘Amigo, não estou sendo injusto com você. Você não concordou em trabalhar por um denário?

But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a shilling?

14 R eceba o que é seu e vá. Eu quero dar ao que foi contratado por último o mesmo que lhe dei.

Take up that which is thine, and go thy way; it is my will to give unto this last, even as unto thee.

15 N ão tenho o direito de fazer o que quero com o meu dinheiro? Ou você está com inveja porque sou generoso?’

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? or is thine eye evil, because I am good?

16 “ Assim, os últimos serão primeiros, e os primeiros serão últimos”. Jesus Prediz Novamente sua Morte e Ressurreição

So the last shall be first, and the first last.

17 E nquanto estava subindo para Jerusalém, Jesus chamou em particular os doze discípulos e lhes disse:

And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples apart, and on the way he said unto them,

18 “ Estamos subindo para Jerusalém, e o Filho do homem será entregue aos chefes dos sacerdotes e aos mestres da lei. Eles o condenarão à morte

Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests and scribes; and they shall condemn him to death,

19 e o entregarão aos gentios para que zombem dele, o açoitem e o crucifiquem. No terceiro dia ele ressuscitará!” O Pedido de uma Mãe

and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify: and the third day he shall be raised up.

20 E ntão, aproximou-se de Jesus a mãe dos filhos de Zebedeu com seus filhos e, prostrando-se, fez-lhe um pedido.

Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, worshipping him, and asking a certain thing of him.

21 “ O que você quer?”, perguntou ele. Ela respondeu: “Declara que no teu Reino estes meus dois filhos se assentarão um à tua direita e o outro à tua esquerda”.

And he said unto her, What wouldest thou? She saith unto him, Command that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy kingdom.

22 D isse-lhes Jesus: “Vocês não sabem o que estão pedindo. Podem vocês beber o cálice que eu vou beber?” “Podemos”, responderam eles.

But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able.

23 J esus lhes disse: “Certamente vocês beberão do meu cálice; mas o assentar-se à minha direita ou à minha esquerda não cabe a mim conceder. Esses lugares pertencem àqueles para quem foram preparados por meu Pai”.

He saith unto them, My cup indeed ye shall drink: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give; but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared of my Father.

24 Q uando os outros dez ouviram isso, ficaram indignados com os dois irmãos.

And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation concerning the two brethren.

25 J esus os chamou e disse: “Vocês sabem que os governantes das nações as dominam, e as pessoas importantes exercem poder sobre elas.

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

26 N ão será assim entre vocês. Ao contrário, quem quiser tornar-se importante entre vocês deverá ser servo,

Not so shall it be among you: but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister;

27 e quem quiser ser o primeiro deverá ser escravo;

and whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant:

28 c omo o Filho do homem, que não veio para ser servido, mas para servir e dar a sua vida em resgate por muitos”. Dois Cegos Recuperam a Visão

even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

29 A o saírem de Jericó, uma grande multidão seguiu Jesus.

And as they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

30 D ois cegos estavam sentados à beira do caminho e, quando ouviram falar que Jesus estava passando, puseram-se a gritar: “Senhor, Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de nós!”

And behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thou son of David.

31 A multidão os repreendeu para que ficassem quietos, mas eles gritavam ainda mais: “Senhor, Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de nós!”

And the multitude rebuked them, that they should hold their peace: but they cried out the more, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thou son of David.

32 J esus, parando, chamou-os e perguntou-lhes: “O que vocês querem que eu lhes faça?”

And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I should do unto you?

33 R esponderam eles: “Senhor, queremos que se abram os nossos olhos”.

They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

34 J esus teve compaixão deles e tocou nos olhos deles. Imediatamente eles recuperaram a visão e o seguiram.

And Jesus, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and straightway they received their sight, and followed him.
