1 M anassés tinha doze anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou cinqüenta e cinco anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Hefzibá.

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned five and fifty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hephzibah.

2 E le fez o que o Senhor reprova, imitando as práticas detestáveis das nações que o Senhor havia expulsado de diante dos israelitas.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, after the abominations of the nations whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel.

3 R econstruiu os altares idólatras que seu pai Ezequias havia demolido e também ergueu altares para Baal e fez um poste sagrado para Aserá, como fizera Acabe, rei de Israel. Inclinou-se diante de todos os exércitos celestes e lhes prestou culto.

For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

4 C onstruiu altares no templo do Senhor, do qual este havia dito: “Em Jerusalém porei o meu nome”.

And he built altars in the house of Jehovah, whereof Jehovah said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.

5 N os dois pátios do templo do Senhor ele construiu altares para todos os exércitos celestes.

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

6 C hegou a queimar o próprio filho em sacrifício, praticou feitiçaria e adivinhação e recorreu a médiuns e a quem consultava os espíritos. Fez o que o Senhor reprova, provocando-o à ira.

And he made his son to pass through the fire, and practised augury, and used enchantments, and dealt with them that had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

7 E le tomou o poste sagrado que havia feito e o pôs no templo, do qual o Senhor tinha dito a Davi e a seu filho Salomão: “Neste templo e em Jerusalém, que escolhi dentre todas as tribos de Israel, porei o meu nome para sempre.

And he set the graven image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which Jehovah said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever;

8 N ão farei os pés dos israelitas andarem errantes novamente, longe da terra que dei aos seus antepassados, se tão-somente tiverem o cuidado de fazer tudo o que lhes ordenei e de obedecer a toda a Lei que meu servo Moisés lhes deu”.

neither will I cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.

9 M as o povo não quis ouvir. Manassés os desviou, ao ponto de fazerem pior do que as nações que o Senhor havia destruído diante dos israelitas.

But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than did the nations whom Jehovah destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 E o Senhor disse por meio dos seus servos, os profetas:

And Jehovah spake by his servants the prophets, saying,

11 “ Manassés, rei de Judá, cometeu esses atos repugnantes. Agiu pior do que os amorreus que o antecederam e também levou Judá a pecar com os ídolos que fizera.

Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, that were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols;

12 P ortanto, assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: Causarei uma tal desgraça em Jerusalém e em Judá que os ouvidos de quem ouvir a respeito ficarão zumbindo.

therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Behold, I bring such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.

13 E stenderei sobre Jerusalém o fio de medir utilizado contra Samaria e o fio de prumo usado contra a família de Acabe. Limparei Jerusalém como se limpa um prato, lavando-o e virando-o de cabeça para baixo.

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

14 A bandonarei o remanescente da minha herança e o entregarei nas mãos de seus inimigos. Serão despojados e saqueados por todos os seus adversários,

And I will cast off the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

15 p ois fizeram o que eu reprovo e me provocaram à ira, desde o dia em que os seus antepassados saíram do Egito até hoje”.

because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.

16 M anassés também derramou tanto sangue inocente que encheu Jerusalém de um extremo ao outro; além disso levou Judá a cometer pecado e fazer o que o Senhor reprova.

Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.

17 O s demais acontecimentos do reinado de Manassés e todas as suas realizações, inclusive o pecado que cometeu, estão escritos no livro dos registros históricos dos reis de Judá.

Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

18 M anassés descansou com os seus antepassados e foi sepultado no jardim do seu palácio, o jardim de Uzá. E seu filho Amom foi o seu sucessor. O Reinado de Amom, Rei de Judá

And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

19 A mom tinha vinte e dois anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou dois anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Mesulemete, filha de Haruz; ela era de Jotbá.

Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

20 E le fez o que o Senhor reprova, como fizera Manassés, seu pai.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father.

21 I mitou o seu pai em tudo; prestou culto aos ídolos aos quais seu pai havia cultuado e inclinou-se diante deles.

And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:

22 A bandonou o Senhor, o Deus dos seus antepassados, e não andou no caminho do Senhor.

and he forsook Jehovah, the God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of Jehovah.

23 O s oficiais de Amom conspiraram contra ele e o assassinaram em seu palácio.

And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.

24 M as o povo matou todos os que haviam conspirado contra o rei Amom, e a seu filho Josias proclamou rei em seu lugar.

But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

25 O s demais acontecimentos do reinado de Amom e as suas realizações estão escritos no livro dos registros históricos dos reis de Judá.

Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

26 E le foi sepultado em seu túmulo no jardim de Uzá. Seu filho Josias foi o seu sucessor.

And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.
