1 O Senhor edificou sua cidade sobre o monte santo;

His foundation is in the holy mountains.

2 e le ama as portas de Sião mais do que qualquer outro lugar de Jacó.

Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion More than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 C oisas gloriosas são ditas de ti, ó cidade de Deus! Pausa

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah

4 “ Entre os que me reconhecem incluirei Raabe e Babilônia, além da Filístia, de Tiro, e também da Etiópia, como se tivessem nascido em Sião.”

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among them that know me: Behold, Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: This one was born there.

5 D e fato, acerca de Sião se dirá: “Todos estes nasceram em Sião, e o próprio Altíssimo a estabelecerá”.

Yea, of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her; And the Most High himself will establish her.

6 O Senhor escreverá no registro dos povos: “Este nasceu ali”. Pausa

Jehovah will count, when he writeth up the peoples, This one was born there. Selah

7 C om danças e cânticos, dirão: “Em Sião estão as nossas origens!”

They that sing as well as they that dance shall say, All my fountains are in thee.
