1 C oloquei toda minha esperança no Senhor; ele se inclinou para mim e ouviu o meu grito de socorro.

I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 E le me tirou de um poço de destruição, de um atoleiro de lama; pôs os meus pés sobre uma rocha e firmou-me num local seguro.

He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

3 P ôs um novo cântico na minha boca, um hino de louvor ao nosso Deus. Muitos verão isso e temerão, e confiarão no Senhor.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in Jehovah.

4 C omo é feliz o homem que põe no Senhor a sua confiança, e não vai atrás dos orgulhosos, dos que se afastam para seguir deuses falsos!

Blessed is the man that maketh Jehovah his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

5 S enhor meu Deus! Quantas maravilhas tens feito! Não se pode relatar os planos que preparaste para nós! Eu queria proclamá-los e anunciá-los, mas são por demais numerosos!

Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which thou hast done, And thy thoughts which are to us-ward; They cannot be set in order unto thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.

6 S acrifício e oferta não pediste, mas abriste os meus ouvidos; holocaustos e ofertas pelo pecado não exigiste.

Sacrifice and offering thou hast no delight in; Mine ears hast thou opened: Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not required.

7 E ntão eu disse: Aqui estou! No livro está escrito a meu respeito.

Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:

8 T enho grande alegria em fazer a tua vontade, ó meu Deus; a tua lei está no fundo do meu coração.

I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.

9 E u proclamo as novas de justiça na grande assembléia; como sabes, Senhor, não fecho os meus lábios.

I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly; Lo, I will not refrain my lips, O Jehovah, thou knowest.

10 N ão oculto no coração a tua justiça; falo da tua fidelidade e da tua salvação. Não escondo da grande assembléia a tua fidelidade e a tua verdade.

I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great assembly.

11 N ão me negues a tua misericórdia, Senhor; que o teu amor e a tua verdade sempre me protejam.

Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Jehovah; Let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 P ois incontáveis problemas me cercam, as minhas culpas me alcançaram e já não consigo ver. Mais numerosos são que os cabelos da minha cabeça, e o meu coração perdeu o ânimo.

For innumerable evils have compassed me about; Mine iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; And my heart hath failed me.

13 A grada-te, Senhor, em libertar-me; apressa-te, Senhor, a ajudar-me.

Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me: Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.

14 S ejam humilhados e frustrados todos os que procuram tirar-me a vida; retrocedam desprezados os que desejam a minha ruína.

Let them be put to shame and confounded together That seek after my soul to destroy it: Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor That delight in my hurt.

15 F iquem chocados com a sua própria desgraça os que zombam de mim.

Let them be desolate by reason of their shame That say unto me, Aha, aha.

16 M as regozijem-se e alegrem-se em ti todos os que te buscam; digam sempre aqueles que amam a tua salvação: “Grande é o Senhor!”

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: Let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified.

17 Q uanto a mim, sou pobre e necessitado, mas o Senhor preocupa-se comigo. Tu és o meu socorro e o meu libertador; meu Deus, não te demores!

But I am poor and needy; Yet the Lord thinketh upon me: Thou art my help and my deliverer; Make no tarrying, O my God.
