Hallelujah! Praise the name of Jehovah; praise, ye servants of Jehovah,

Ye that stand in the house of Jehovah, in the courts of the house of our God.

3 L odate il Signore, perché il Signore è buono; salmeggiate al suo nome, perché è amabile.

Praise ye Jah; for Jehovah is good: sing psalms unto his name; for it is pleasant.

4 P oiché il Signore ha scelto per sé Giacobbe, e Israele per suo speciale possesso.

For Jah hath chosen Jacob unto himself, Israel for his own possession.

5 S ì, io conosco che il Signore è grande e che il nostro Signore è al di sopra di tutti gli dèi.

For I know that Jehovah is great, and our Lord is above all gods.

6 I l Signore fa tutto ciò che gli piace, in cielo e in terra, nei mari e in tutti gli oceani.

Whatsoever Jehovah pleased, he hath done in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all deeps;

7 E gli fa salire le nuvole dalle estremità della terra, provoca i lampi per la pioggia, sprigiona il vento dai suoi depositi.

Who causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; who maketh lightnings for the rain; who bringeth the wind out of his treasuries:

8 E gli percosse i primogeniti d’Egitto, così degli uomini come degli animali.

Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast;

9 O però segni e prodigi in mezzo a te, o Egitto, sul faraone e su tutti i suoi servi.

Who sent signs and miracles into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants;

10 E gli percosse grandi nazioni e uccise re potenti:

Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings,

11 S icon, re degli Amorei, Og, re di Basan, e tutti i regni di Canaan.

Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;

12 E diede il loro paese in eredità, in eredità a Israele, suo popolo.

And gave their land for an inheritance, an inheritance unto Israel his people.

13 S ignore, il tuo nome dura per sempre; la memoria di te, o Signore, dura per ogni generazione.

Thy name, O Jehovah, is for ever; thy memorial, O Jehovah, from generation to generation.

14 P oiché il Signore farà giustizia al suo popolo e avrà compassione dei suoi servi.

For Jehovah will judge his people, and will repent in favour of his servants.

15 G li idoli delle nazioni sono argento e oro, opera di mano d’uomo.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands:

16 H anno bocca e non parlano; hanno occhi e non vedono;

They have a mouth, and they speak not; eyes have they, and they see not;

17 h anno orecchi e non odono e non hanno respiro alcuno nella loro bocca.

They have ears, and they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouth.

18 S iano simili a loro quelli che li fanno, tutti quelli che in essi confidano.

They that make them are like unto them,—every one that confideth in them.

19 C asa d’Israele, benedite il Signore! Casa di Aaronne, benedite il Signore!

House of Israel, bless ye Jehovah; house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah;

20 C asa di Levi, benedite il Signore! Voi che temete il Signore, benedite il Signore!

House of Levi, bless ye Jehovah; ye that fear Jehovah, bless Jehovah.

21 S ia benedetto da Sion il Signore, che abita in Gerusalemme! Alleluia.

Blessed be Jehovah out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem! Hallelujah!
