1 I l Signore parlò ancora a Mosè, dicendo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

2 « Vedi, io ho chiamato per nome Besaleel, figlio di Uri, figlio di Cur, della tribù di Giuda;

See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,

3 l ’ho riempito dello Spirito di Dio, per dargli sapienza, intelligenza e conoscenza per ogni sorta di lavori,

and have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in every work,

4 p er concepire opere d’arte, per lavorare l’oro, l’argento e il bronzo,

to devise artistic work—to work in gold, and in silver, and in copper,

5 p er incidere pietre da incastonare, per scolpire il legno, per eseguire ogni sorta di lavori.

and in cutting of stones, for setting, and for carving of timber—to work in all manner of work.

6 E d ecco, gli ho dato per aiutante Ooliab, figlio di Aisamac, della tribù di Dan; ho messo sapienza nella mente di tutti gli uomini abili, perché possano fare tutto quello che ti ho ordinato:

And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the heart of every one that is wise-hearted have I given wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee—

7 l a tenda di convegno, l’arca per la testimonianza, il propiziatorio che dovrà esservi sopra, tutti gli arredi della tenda;

the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy-seat that is thereupon, and all the utensils of the tent,

8 l a tavola e i suoi utensili, il candelabro d’oro puro e tutti i suoi utensili, l’altare dell’incenso,

and the table and its utensils, and the pure lamp-stand and all its utensils, and the altar of incense;

9 l ’altare degli olocausti e tutti i suoi utensili, la conca e la sua base,

and the altar of burnt-offering and all its utensils, and the laver and its stand;

10 i paramenti per le cerimonie, i paramenti sacri per il sacerdote Aaronne e i paramenti dei suoi figli per esercitare il sacerdozio,

and the garments of service, both the holy garments of Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to serve as priests;

and the anointing oil, and the incense of fragrant drugs for the sanctuary: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.

12 I l Signore parlò ancora a Mosè e disse:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

13 « Quanto a te, parla ai figli d’Israele e di’ loro: “Badate bene di osservare i miei sabati, perché il sabato è un segno tra me e voi per tutte le vostre generazioni, affinché conosciate che io sono il Signore che vi santifica.

And thou, speak thou unto the children of Israel, saying, Surely my sabbaths shall ye keep; for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that ye may know that it is I, Jehovah, who do hallow you.

14 O sserverete dunque il sabato perché è un giorno santo per voi. Chiunque lo profanerà sarà messo a morte. Chiunque farà in esso qualche lavoro sarà eliminato dal suo popolo.

Keep the sabbath, therefore; for it is holy unto you; every one that profaneth it shall certainly be put to death: yea, whoever doeth work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his peoples.

15 S i lavorerà sei giorni; ma il settimo giorno è un sabato di solenne riposo, sacro al Signore; chiunque farà qualche lavoro nel giorno del sabato dovrà essere messo a morte.

Six days shall work be done; but on the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, holy to Jehovah: whoever doeth work on the sabbath day shall certainly be put to death.

16 I figli d’Israele quindi dovranno osservare il sabato, lo celebreranno di generazione in generazione, come un patto perenne.

And the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations— an everlasting covenant.

17 E sso è un segno perenne tra me e i figli d’Israele; poiché in sei giorni il Signore fece i cieli e la terra, e il settimo giorno cessò di lavorare e si riposò”».

It shall be a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever; for six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

18 Q uando il Signore ebbe finito di parlare con Mosè sul monte Sinai, gli diede le due tavole della testimonianza, tavole di pietra, scritte con il dito di Dio.

And he gave to Moses, when he had ended speaking with him on mount Sinai, the two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
