1 D avide convocò a Gerusalemme tutti i capi d’Israele, i capi delle tribù, i capi delle divisioni al servizio del re, i capi di migliaia, i capi di centinaia, gli amministratori di tutti i beni e del bestiame appartenente al re e ai suoi figli, insieme con gli ufficiali di corte, con gli uomini prodi e valorosi.

And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the princes of the divisions that ministered to the king, and the captains over thousands, and the captains over hundreds, and the comptrollers of all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the chamberlains, and the mighty men, and all the men of valour, unto Jerusalem.

2 P oi Davide, alzatosi e stando in piedi, disse: «Ascoltatemi, fratelli miei e popolo mio! Io avevo in cuore di costruire un tempio stabile per l’arca del patto del Signore e per lo sgabello dei piedi del nostro Dio, e avevo fatto dei preparativi per la costruzione.

And king David stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren and my people! I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah and for the footstool of our God, and I have prepared to build.

3 M a Dio mi disse: “Tu non costruirai una casa al mio nome, perché sei uomo di guerra e hai sparso sangue”.

But God said to me, Thou shalt not build a house unto my name, for thou art a man of war, and hast shed blood.

4 I l Signore, Dio d’Israele, ha scelto me, in tutta la casa di mio padre, perché io fossi re d’Israele per sempre; poiché egli ha scelto Giuda come principe e, nella casa di Giuda, la casa di mio padre; e tra i figli di mio padre gli è piaciuto di far me re di tutto Israele;

And Jehovah the God of Israel chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever; for he has chosen Judah to be the prince; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;

5 e fra tutti i miei figli, poiché il Signore mi ha dato molti figli, egli ha scelto mio figlio Salomone, perché sieda sul trono del Signore, che regna sopra Israele.

and of all my sons, (for Jehovah has given me many sons,) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel.

6 E gli mi ha detto: “Salomone, tuo figlio, sarà colui che costruirà la mia casa e i miei cortili; poiché io l’ho scelto come figlio, e io gli sarò padre.

And he said to me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

7 S tabilirò saldamente il suo regno per sempre, se egli sarà perseverante nella pratica dei miei comandamenti e dei miei precetti, com’è oggi”.

And I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be firm to do my commandments and mine ordinances, as at this day.

8 O ra, in presenza di tutto Israele, dell’assemblea del Signore, e davanti al nostro Dio che ci ascolta, io vi esorto a osservare e a prendere a cuore tutti i comandamenti del Signore vostro Dio, affinché possiate rimanere in possesso di questo buon paese, e lasciarlo in eredità ai vostri figli, dopo di voi, per sempre.

And now in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of Jehovah, and in the audience of our God,—keep and seek for all the commandments of Jehovah your God; that ye may possess the good land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children after you for ever.

9 E tu, Salomone, figlio mio, riconosci il Dio di tuo padre e servilo con cuore integro e con animo volenteroso; poiché il Signore scruta tutti i cuori e penetra tutti i disegni e tutti i pensieri. Se tu lo cerchi, egli si lascerà trovare da te; ma, se lo abbandoni, egli ti respingerà per sempre.

And thou, Solomon my son, know the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Jehovah searches all hearts, and discerns all the imaginations of the thoughts. If thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cut thee off for ever.

10 C onsidera che ora il Signore ha scelto te per costruire una casa che serva da santuario; sii forte e mettiti all’opera!»

Consider now, that Jehovah has chosen thee to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do.

11 A llora Davide diede a Salomone suo figlio il piano del portico del tempio e degli edifici, delle stanze dei tesori, delle stanze superiori, delle camere interne e del luogo per il propiziatorio.

And David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of its houses, and of its treasuries, and of its upper chambers, and of its inner chambers, and of the house of the mercy-seat;

12 G li diede il piano di tutto quello che aveva in mente relativamente ai cortili della casa del Signore, a tutte le camere all’interno, ai tesori della casa di Dio, ai tesori delle cose consacrate,

and the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, of the courts of the house of Jehovah, and of all the chambers round about, for the treasuries of the house of God, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things;

13 a lle classi dei sacerdoti e dei Leviti, a tutto quello che concerneva il servizio della casa del Signore e a tutti gli utensili che dovevano servire alla casa del Signore.

and for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, and for all the instruments of service in the house of Jehovah:

14 G li diede il modello degli utensili d’oro, con il relativo peso d’oro per tutti gli utensili d’ogni specie di servizi, e il modello di tutti gli utensili d’argento, con il relativo peso d’argento per tutti gli utensili d’ogni specie di servizi.

gold by weight for of gold, for all utensils of each kind of service; for all utensils of silver, by weight, for all utensils of each kind of service;

15 G li diede l’indicazione del peso dei candelabri d’oro e delle loro lampade d’oro, con il peso di ogni candelabro e delle sue lampade, e l’indicazione del peso dei candelabri d’argento, con il peso di ogni candelabro e delle sue lampade, secondo l’uso al quale ogni candelabro era destinato.

and the weight of the golden candlesticks, and of their golden lamps, by weight for every candlestick, and for its lamps; and for the silver candlesticks, by weight, for the candlestick and for its lamps, according to the use of every candlestick;

16 G li diede l’indicazione del peso dell’oro necessario per ognuna delle tavole dei pani della presentazione, e del peso dell’argento per le tavole d’argento;

and gold by weight for the tables of the to be set in rows, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver;

17 g li diede ugualmente l’indicazione del peso dell’oro puro, per i forchettoni, per le bacinelle e per i calici; e l’indicazione del peso dell’oro per ciascuna delle coppe d’oro e del peso dell’argento per ciascuna delle coppe d’argento;

and pure gold for the forks, and the bowls, and the goblets; and for the golden basons by weight for every bason; and for the silver basons by weight for every bason;

18 e l’indicazione del peso necessario d’oro purificato per l’altare dei profumi e il modello del carro, dei cherubini d’oro che stendevano le ali e coprivano l’arca del patto del Signore.

and for the altar of incense, refined gold by weight; and the pattern of the chariot of the cherubim of gold, which spread out and cover the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

19 « Tutto questo», disse Davide, «tutto il piano da eseguire, te lo do per iscritto, perché la mano del Signore, che è stata sopra di me, mi ha dato l’intelligenza necessaria».

All this in writing, by Jehovah's hand upon me, instructing as to all the works of the pattern.

20 D avide disse ancora a suo figlio Salomone: «Sii forte, fatti coraggio, e mettiti all’opera; non temere, non ti sgomentare; perché il Signore, Dio, il mio Dio, sarà con te; egli non ti lascerà e non ti abbandonerà fino a che tutta l’opera per il servizio della casa del Signore sia compiuta.

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and courageous, and do it; fear not nor be dismayed: for Jehovah Elohim, my God, will be with thee; he will not leave thee, neither forsake thee, until all the work for the service of the house of Jehovah is finished.

21 E d ecco le classi dei sacerdoti e dei Leviti per tutto il servizio della casa di Dio. Tu hai presso di te, per ogni lavoro, ogni sorta di uomini di buona volontà e abili in ogni specie di servizio; e i capi e tutto il popolo sono pronti a eseguire tutti i tuoi ordini».

And behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites are for all the service of the house of God; and thou hast with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing man, skilful for every sort of service; and the princes and all the people are wholly at thy commandment.
