1 « L’eunuco, a cui sono stati infranti o mutilati i genitali, non entrerà nell’assemblea del Signore.

He that is a eunuch, whether he have been crushed or cut, shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

2 I l bastardo non entrerà nell’assemblea del Signore; nessuno dei suoi discendenti, neppure alla decima generazione, entrerà nell’assemblea del Signore.

A bastard shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even his tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

3 L ’Ammonita e il Moabita non entreranno nell’assemblea del Signore; nessuno dei loro discendenti, neppure alla decima generazione, entrerà nell’assemblea del Signore;

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even their tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah for ever;

4 n on vi entreranno mai, perché non vi vennero incontro con il pane e con l’acqua durante il vostro viaggio, quando usciste dall’Egitto, e perché assoldarono a tuo danno Balaam, figlio di Beor, da Petor in Mesopotamia, per maledirti.

because they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor, of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

5 M a il Signore, il tuo Dio, non volle ascoltare Balaam; e il Signore, il tuo Dio, mutò per te la maledizione in benedizione, perché il Signore, il tuo Dio, ti ama.

But Jehovah thy God would not listen to Balaam; and Jehovah thy God turned the curse into blessing unto thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.

6 N on cercherai mai la loro pace né la loro prosperità, finché tu viva.

Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

7 N on detesterai l’Idumeo, poiché egli è tuo fratello; non detesterai l’Egiziano, perché fosti straniero nel suo paese;

Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother. Thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a sojourner in his land.

8 i figli che nasceranno loro potranno, alla terza generazione, entrare nell’assemblea del Signore. Prescrizioni relative all’impurità

Children that are born to them shall come into the congregation of Jehovah in the third generation.

9 « Quando uscirai e ti accamperai contro i tuoi nemici, guàrdati da ogni cosa malvagia.

When thou goest forth into camp against thine enemies, then keep thee from every evil thing.

10 S e c’è qualcuno in mezzo a te che è impuro a causa di un accidente notturno, uscirà dall’accampamento e non vi rientrerà;

If there be with thee a man that is not clean from what hath happened in the night, then shall he go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp;

11 v erso sera si laverà con acqua e dopo il tramonto del sole potrà rientrare nell’accampamento.

and it shall be, towards evening, he shall bathe in water: and at the going down of the sun he may come inside the camp.

12 A vrai pure un luogo fuori dell’accampamento e là fuori andrai per i tuoi bisogni;

Thou shalt have a place also outside the camp, and shalt go forth thither.

13 f ra i tuoi utensili avrai una pala con la quale, quando vorrai andare fuori per i tuoi bisogni, scaverai la terra e coprirai i tuoi escrementi.

And thou shalt have a shovel amongst thy weapons, and it shall be, when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which is come from thee.

14 I nfatti il Signore, il tuo Dio, cammina in mezzo al tuo accampamento per proteggerti e per sconfiggere i tuoi nemici davanti a te; perciò il tuo accampamento dovrà essere santo, affinché egli non veda in mezzo a te nulla d’indecente e non si ritiri da te.

For Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; and thy camp shall be holy, that he see nothing unseemly with thee, and turn away from thee.

15 « Non consegnerai al suo padrone uno schiavo che, dopo averlo lasciato, si sarà rifugiato presso di te.

Thou shalt not hand over to his master a bondman that hath escaped from his master unto thee:

16 R imarrà da te, nel tuo paese, nel luogo che avrà scelto, in quella delle tue città che gli parrà meglio; e non lo molesterai.

he shall dwell with thee, even in thy midst, in the place that he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it seemeth good to him; thou shalt not oppress him.

17 N on vi sarà alcuna prostituta tra le figlie d’Israele, né vi sarà alcun uomo che si prostituisca tra i figli d’Israele.

There shall be no prostitute amongst the daughters of Israel, nor any Sodomite amongst the sons of Israel.

18 N on porterai nella casa del Signore tuo Dio il guadagno di una prostituta né il prezzo di un cane, per sciogliere un qualsiasi voto, poiché sono entrambi abominevoli per il Signore tuo Dio.

Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow; for even both these are an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

19 « Non farai al tuo prossimo prestiti a interesse, né di denaro, né di viveri, né di qualsiasi cosa che si presta a interesse.

Thou shalt take no interest of thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that can be lent upon interest:

20 A llo straniero potrai prestare a interesse, ma non al tuo prossimo, affinché il Signore, il tuo Dio, ti benedica in tutto ciò cui metterai mano nel paese dove stai per entrare per prenderne possesso. I voti

of a foreigner thou mayest take interest, but of thy brother thou shalt not take interest; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the business of thy hand in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

21 « Quando avrai fatto un voto al Signore tuo Dio, non tarderai ad adempierlo poiché il Signore, il tuo Dio, te ne domanderebbe certamente conto e tu saresti colpevole;

When thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not delay to perform it; for Jehovah thy God will certainly require it of thee, and it shall be sin in thee.

22 m a se ti astieni dal fare voti non commetti peccato.

But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

23 M antieni e metti in pratica la parola uscita dalle tue labbra: opera secondo il voto che avrai fatto volontariamente al Signore tuo Dio e che la tua bocca avrà pronunciato.

What is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and do, as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God, the voluntary-offering that thou hast promised with thy mouth.

24 Q uando entrerai nella vigna del tuo prossimo, potrai a tuo piacere mangiare uva a sazietà, ma non ne metterai nel tuo paniere.

When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes thy fill, according to thy desire, but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

25 Q uando entrerai nei campi di grano del tuo prossimo potrai cogliere spighe con la mano; ma non metterai la falce nel grano del tuo prossimo.

When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but thou shalt not wave the sickle against thy neighbour's standing corn.
