1 I o guardai, ed ecco, sulla distesa sopra il capo dei cherubini, c’era come una pietra di zaffiro; si vedeva come una specie di trono che stava sopra di loro.

And I looked, and behold, in the expanse that was over the head of the cherubim there appeared above them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

2 I l Signore parlò all’uomo vestito di lino e disse: «Va’ fra le ruote sotto i cherubini, rièmpiti le mani di carboni ardenti, tolti in mezzo ai cherubini, e spargili sulla città». Ed egli vi andò in mia presenza.

And he spoke unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Come in between the wheels, under the cherub, and fill the hollow of thy hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.

3 I cherubini stavano al lato destro della casa, quando l’uomo entrò là; la nuvola riempì il cortile interno.

And the cherubim stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.

4 L a gloria del Signore si alzò sopra i cherubini, muovendosi verso la soglia della casa; la casa fu riempita della nuvola e il cortile fu ricolmo dello splendore della gloria del Signore.

And the glory of Jehovah mounted up from the cherub, over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of Jehovah's glory.

5 I l rumore delle ali dei cherubini si udì fino al cortile esterno, simile alla voce del Dio onnipotente quand’egli parla.

And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.

6 Q uando il Signore ebbe dato all’uomo vestito di lino l’ordine di prendere del fuoco in mezzo alle ruote che sono tra i cherubini, quegli venne a fermarsi presso una delle ruote.

And it came to pass when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubim, then he went in, and stood beside the wheel.

7 U no dei cherubini stese la mano fra gli altri cherubini verso il fuoco che era in mezzo ai cherubini, ne prese e lo mise nelle mani dell’uomo vestito di lino, che lo ricevette e uscì.

And the cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubim unto the fire that was between the cherubim, and took and put it into the hands of him clothed with linen; who took, and went out.

8 V idi che i cherubini avevano una forma di mano d’uomo sotto le ali.

And there appeared in the cherubim the form of a man's hand under their wings.

9 I o guardai, ed ecco quattro ruote presso i cherubini, una ruota presso ogni cherubino; le ruote avevano il bagliore di una pietra di crisolito.

And I looked, and behold, four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub, and another wheel beside another cherub; and the appearance of the wheels was as the look of a chrysolite stone.

10 A vederle, tutte e quattro avevano una medesima forma, come se una ruota fosse in mezzo all’altra.

And as for their appearance, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel were in the midst of a wheel.

11 Q uando si muovevano, si muovevano dai loro quattro lati; muovendosi non si voltavano, ma seguivano la direzione dal luogo verso il quale guardava il capo e, andando, non si voltavano.

When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it: they turned not as they went.

12 T utto il corpo dei cherubini, i loro dorsi, le loro mani, le loro ali, come pure le ruote, le ruote di tutti e quattro, erano pieni d’occhi tutto attorno.

And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels were full of eyes round about, in them four their wheels.

13 U dii che le ruote erano chiamate Turbine.

As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing, Galgal.

14 O gni cherubino aveva quattro facce: la prima faccia era una faccia di cherubino; la seconda faccia, una faccia d’uomo; la terza, una faccia di leone; la quarta, una faccia d’aquila.

And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

15 I cherubini si alzarono. Erano gli stessi esseri viventi che avevo visti presso il fiume Chebar.

And the cherubim mounted up. This was the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.

16 Q uando i cherubini si muovevano, anche le ruote si muovevano accanto a loro; e quando i cherubini spiegavano le ali per alzarsi da terra, anche le ruote non deviavano dal loro lato.

And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.

17 Q uando quelli si fermavano, anche queste si fermavano; quando quelli s’innalzavano, anche queste s’innalzavano con loro, perché lo spirito degli esseri viventi era in esse.

When they stood, these stood; and when they mounted up, these mounted up with them: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.

18 L a gloria del Signore partì dalla soglia della casa e si fermò sui cherubini.

And the glory of Jehovah departed from over the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.

19 I cherubini spiegarono le loro ali e s’innalzarono su dalla terra; io li vidi partire, con le ruote accanto a loro. Si fermarono all’ingresso della porta orientale della casa del Signore, e la gloria del Dio d’Israele stava sopra di loro, su in alto.

And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight, when they went out; and the wheels were beside them; and they stood at the door of the east gate of Jehovah's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

20 E rano gli stessi esseri viventi che avevo visti sotto il Dio d’Israele presso il fiume Chebar; riconobbi che erano cherubini.

This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar; and I knew that they were cherubim.

21 O gnuno di essi aveva quattro facce, ognuno quattro ali; sotto le loro ali appariva la forma di mani d’uomo.

Each one had four faces, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.

22 Q uanto all’aspetto delle loro facce, erano le facce che avevo viste presso il fiume Chebar; erano le stesse sembianze, i medesimi cherubini. Ognuno andava diritto davanti a sé.

And as for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I had seen by the river Chebar—their appearance and themselves: they went every one straight before them.
