1 N o juzguéis para que no seáis juzgados.

Do not judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves.

2 P orque con el juicio con que juzguéis, seréis juzgados; y con la medida con que midáis, se os medirá.

For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you.

3 ¿ Y por qué miras la mota que está en el ojo de tu hermano, y no te das cuenta de la viga que está en tu propio ojo ?

Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother’s eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye?

4 ¿ O cómo puedes decir a tu hermano: “Déjame sacarte la mota del ojo”, cuando la viga está en tu ojo ?

Or how can you say to your brother, Let me get the tiny particle out of your eye, when there is the beam of timber in your own eye?

5 ¡ Hipócrita! Saca primero la viga de tu ojo, y entonces verás con claridad para sacar la mota del ojo de tu hermano.

You hypocrite, first get the beam of timber out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the tiny particle out of your brother’s eye.

6 N o deis lo santo a los perros, ni echéis vuestras perlas delante de los cerdos, no sea que las huellen con sus patas, y volviéndose os despedacen. La oración recibirá respuesta

Do not give that which is holy (the sacred thing) to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before hogs, lest they trample upon them with their feet and turn and tear you in pieces.

7 P edid, y se os dará; buscad, y hallaréis; llamad, y se os abrirá.

Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and will be opened to you.

8 P orque todo el que pide, recibe; y el que busca, halla; y al que llama, se le abrirá.

For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, will be opened.

9 ¿ O qué hombre hay entre vosotros que si su hijo le pide pan, le dará una piedra,

Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone?

10 o si le pide un pescado, le dará una serpiente?

Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent?

11 P ues si vosotros, siendo malos, sabéis dar buenas dádivas a vuestros hijos, ¿cuánto más vuestro Padre que está en los cielos dará cosas buenas a los que le piden ?

If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!

12 P or eso, todo cuanto queráis que os hagan los hombres, así también haced vosotros con ellos, porque esta es la ley y los profetas. Dos puertas y dos sendas

So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets.

13 E ntrad por la puerta estrecha, porque ancha es la puerta y amplia es la senda que lleva a la perdición, y muchos son los que entran por ella.

Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it.

14 P orque estrecha es la puerta y angosta la senda que lleva a la vida, y pocos son los que la hallan. Cómo conocer a los falsos profetas

But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it.

15 C uidaos de los falsos profetas, que vienen a vosotros con vestidos de ovejas, pero por dentro son lobos rapaces.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves.

16 P or sus frutos los conoceréis. ¿Acaso se recogen uvas de los espinos o higos de los abrojos?

You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

17 A sí, todo árbol bueno da frutos buenos; pero el árbol malo da frutos malos.

Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit '> worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad (worthless) fruit.

18 U n árbol bueno no puede producir frutos malos, ni un árbol malo producir frutos buenos.

A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear excellent fruit.

19 T odo árbol que no da buen fruto, es cortado y echado al fuego.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

20 A sí que, por sus frutos los conoceréis.

Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.

21 N o todo el que me dice: “Señor, Señor ”, entrará en el reino de los cielos, sino el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.

22 M uchos me dirán en aquel día: “Señor, Señor, ¿no profetizamos en tu nombre, y en tu nombre echamos fuera demonios, y en tu nombre hicimos muchos milagros ?”

Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?

23 Y entonces les declararé: “Jamás os conocí; apartaos de mi, los que practicais la iniquidad.” Los dos cimientos

And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly.

24 P or tanto, cualquiera que oye estas palabras mías y las pone en práctica, será semejante a un hombre sabio que edificó su casa sobre la roca;

So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.

25 y cayó la lluvia, vinieron los torrentes, soplaron los vientos y azotaron aquella casa; pero no se cayó, porque había sido fundada sobre la roca.

And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

26 Y todo el que oye estas palabras mías y no las pone en práctica, será semejante a un hombre insensato que edificó su casa sobre la arena;

And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand.

27 y cayó la lluvia, vinieron los torrentes, soplaron los vientos y azotaron aquella casa; y cayó, y grande fue su destrucción.

And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great and complete was the fall of it.

28 C uando Jesús terminó estas palabras, las multitudes se admiraban de su enseñanza;

When Jesus had finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished and overwhelmed with bewildered wonder at His teaching,

29 p orque les enseñaba como uno que tiene autoridad, y no como sus escribas.

For He was teaching as One Who had authority, and not as the scribes.
