1 A sí dice el Señor: El cielo es mi trono y la tierra el estrado de mis pies. ¿Dónde, pues, está la casa que podríais edificarme? ¿Dónde está el lugar de mi reposo ?

Thus says the Lord: Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house would you build for Me? And what kind can be My resting-place?

2 T odo esto lo hizo mi mano, y así todas estas cosas llegaron a ser —declara el Señor. Pero a éste miraré: al que es humilde y contrito de espíritu, y que tiembla ante mi palabra.

For all these things My hand has made, and so all these things have come into being, says the Lord. But this is the man to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble and of a broken or wounded spirit, and who trembles at My word and reveres My commands.

3 E l que mata un buey es como el que mata a un hombre, el que sacrifica un cordero como el que desnuca un perro, el que presenta ofrenda de cereal como el que ofrece sangre de cerdo, el que quema incienso como el que bendice a un ídolo. Como ellos han escogido sus propios caminos, y su alma se deleita en sus abominaciones,

He who kills an ox will be as guilty as if he slew and sacrificed a man; he who sacrifices a lamb or a kid, as if he broke a dog’s neck and sacrificed him; he who offers a cereal offering, as if he offered swine’s blood; he who burns incense, as if he blessed an idol. have chosen their own ways, and they delight in their abominations;

4 t ambién yo escogeré sus castigos, y traeré sobre ellos lo que temen. Porque llamé, mas nadie respondió, hablé, mas no escucharon; sino que hicieron lo malo ante mis ojos, y escogieron aquello que no me complacía.

So I also will choose their delusions and mockings, their calamities and afflictions, and I will bring their fears upon them—because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they did not listen or obey. But they did what was evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.

5 O íd la palabra del Señor, vosotros que tembláis ante su palabra: Vuestros hermanos que os aborrecen, que os excluyen por causa de mi nombre, han dicho: “Sea el Señor glorificado, para que veamos vuestra alegría.” Pero ellos serán avergonzados.

Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: Your brethren who hate you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, have said, Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy! But it is they who shall be put to shame.

6 V oz de estruendo viene de la ciudad, una voz sale del templo: la voz del Señor que da el pago a sus enemigos.

An uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord, rendering recompense to His enemies!

7 A ntes que estuviera de parto, ella dio a luz; antes que le vinieran los dolores, dio a luz un niño.

Before travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she was delivered of a male child.

8 ¿ Quién ha oído cosa semejante? ¿Quién ha visto tales cosas ? ¿Es dado a luz un país en un solo día? ¿Nace una nación toda de una vez? Pues Sion apenas estuvo de parto, dio a luz a sus hijos.

Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children.

9 Y o que hago que se abra la matriz, ¿no haré nacer ? —dice el Señor. Yo que hago nacer, ¿cerraré la matriz ? —dice tu Dios.

Shall I bring to the birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.

10 A legraos con Jerusalén y regocijaos por ella, todos los que la amáis; rebosad de júbilo con ella, todos los que por ella hacéis duelo,

Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her,

11 p ara que maméis y os saciéis del pecho de sus consolaciones, para que chupéis y os deleitéis de su seno abundante.

That you may nurse and be satisfied from her consoling breasts, that you may drink deeply and be delighted with the abundance and brightness of her glory.

12 P orque así dice el Señor: He aquí, yo extiendo hacia ella paz como un río, y la gloria de las naciones como torrente desbordado; y mamaréis, seréis llevados sobre la cadera y acariciados sobre las rodillas.

For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; then you will be nursed, you will be carried on her hip and trotted on her knees.

13 C omo uno a quien consuela su madre, así os consolaré yo; en Jerusalén seréis consolados.

As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

14 C uando lo veáis, se llenará de gozo vuestro corazón, y vuestros huesos florecerán como hierba tierna; la mano del Señor se dará a conocer a sus siervos, y su indignación a sus enemigos.

When you see this, your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like green and tender grass. And the hand of the Lord shall be revealed and known to be with His servants, but His indignation to be against His enemies.

15 P orque he aquí, el Señor vendrá en fuego y sus carros como torbellino, para descargar con furor su ira y su reprensión con llamas de fuego.

For behold, the Lord will come in fire, and His chariots will be like the stormy wind, to render His anger with fierceness, and His rebuke with flames of fire.

16 P orque el Señor juzgará con fuego y con su espada a toda carne, y serán muchos los muertos del Señor.

For by fire and by His sword will the Lord execute judgment upon all flesh, and the slain of the Lord will be many.

17 L os que se santifican y se purifican para ir a los huertos, tras uno que está en el centro, que comen carne de cerdo, cosas detestables y ratones, a una perecerán —declara el Señor.

Those who sanctify themselves and cleanse themselves to enter in the gardens, following after one in the midst, eating hog’s flesh and the abomination and the shall come to an end together, says the Lord.

18 M as yo conozco sus obras y sus pensamientos. Llegará el tiempo de juntar a todas las naciones y lenguas, y vendrán y verán mi gloria.

For I know their works and their thoughts. And the time is coming when I will gather all nations and tongues, and they will come and see My glory.

19 Y pondré señal entre ellos y enviaré a sus sobrevivientes a las naciones: a Tarsis, a Fut, a Lud, a Mesec, a Ros, a Tubal y a Javán, a las costas remotas que no han oído de mi fama ni han visto mi gloria. Y ellos anunciarán mi gloria entre las naciones.

And I will set up a sign among them, and from them I will send survivors to the nations—to Tarshish, Pul (Put), and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles and coastlands afar off that have not heard of My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare and proclaim My glory among the nations.

20 E ntonces traerán a todos vuestros hermanos de todas las naciones como ofrenda al Señor, en caballos, en carros, en literas, en mulos y en camellos, a mi santo monte, Jerusalén —dice el Señor — tal como los hijos de Israel traen su ofrenda de grano en vasijas limpias a la casa del Señor.

And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the Lord—upon horses and in chariots and in litters and upon mules and upon camels—to My holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the children of Israel bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.

21 Y también tomaré algunos de ellos para sacerdotes y para levitas —dice el Señor.

And I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites, says the Lord.

22 P orque como los cielos nuevos y la tierra nueva que yo hago permanecerán delante de mí —declara el Señor —, así permanecerá vuestra descendencia y vuestro nombre.

For as the new heavens and the new earth which I make shall remain before Me, says the Lord, so shall your offspring and your name remain.

23 Y sucederá que de luna nueva en luna nueva y de día de reposo en día de reposo, todo mortal vendrá a postrarse delante de mí —dice el Señor.

And it shall be that from one New Moon to another New Moon and from one Sabbath to another Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, says the Lord.

24 Y cuando salgan, verán los cadáveres de los hombres que se rebelaron contra mí; porque su gusano no morirá, ni su fuego se apagará, y serán el horror de toda la humanidad.

And they shall go forth and gaze upon the dead bodies of the men who have stepped over against Me; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all mankind.
