1 E n los días de Joacim subió Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y Joacim fue su siervo por tres años; después se levantó y se rebeló contra él.

In his days, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years; then he turned and rebelled against him.

2 Y el Señor envió contra Joacim bandas de caldeos, bandas de arameos, bandas de moabitas y bandas de amonitas. Y las envió contra Judá para destruirla, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado por medio de sus siervos los profetas.

The Lord sent against Jehoiakim bands of Chaldeans, of Syrians, of Moabites, and of Ammonites. And He sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by His servants the prophets.

3 C iertamente por mandato del Señor sucedió esto contra Judá para quitarlos de su presencia, por los pecados de Manasés, por todo lo que había hecho,

Surely this came upon Judah at the command of the Lord, to remove them out of His sight because of the sins of Manasseh according to all he had done,

4 y también por la sangre inocente que derramó, pues llenó a Jerusalén de sangre inocente, y el Señor no quiso perdonar.

And also for the innocent blood that he shed. For he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord would not pardon.

5 L os demás hechos de Joacim y todo lo que hizo ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

The rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of Judah’s Kings?

6 Y durmió Joacim con sus padres; y su hijo Joaquín reinó en su lugar.

So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers. Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

7 Y el rey de Egipto no salió más de su tierra, porque el rey de Babilonia había tomado todo lo que pertenecía al rey de Egipto desde el torrente de Egipto hasta el río Eufrates.

The king of Egypt came no more out of his land, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to Egypt’s king, from the River of Egypt to the river Euphrates.

8 J oaquín tenía dieciocho años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Nehusta, hija de Elnatán, de Jerusalén.

Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began his three-month reign in Jerusalem. His mother was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

9 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, conforme a todo lo que había hecho su padre. Primera deportación

And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, in keeping with all his father had done.

10 E n aquel tiempo los siervos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, subieron a Jerusalén, y la ciudad fue sitiada.

At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

11 N abucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, llegó a la ciudad mientras sus siervos la tenían sitiada.

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it.

12 Y Joaquín, rey de Judá, se rindió al rey de Babilonia, él y su madre, sus capitanes, sus jefes y sus oficiales. El rey de Babilonia lo apresó en el año octavo de su reinado.

Jehoiachin king of Judah surrendered to the king of Babylon, he, his mother, his servants, princes, and palace officials. The king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign.

13 S acó de allí todos los tesoros de la casa del Señor, los tesoros de la casa del rey, y destrozó todos los utensilios de oro que Salomón, rey de Israel, había hecho en el templo del Señor, tal como el Señor había dicho.

He carried off all the treasures of the Lord’s house and the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold in the temple of the Lord, which Solomon king of Israel had made, as the Lord had said.

14 Y se llevó en cautiverio a todo Jerusalén: a todos los capitanes, a todos los hombres valientes, diez mil cautivos, y a todos los artesanos y herreros. Nadie quedó, excepto la gente más pobre del país.

He carried away all Jerusalem, all the princes, all the mighty men of valor, 10, 000 captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest of the land.

15 T ambién se llevó a Joaquín en cautiverio a Babilonia; asimismo a la madre del rey y a las mujeres del rey, a sus oficiales y a los poderosos del país, se los llevó en cautiverio de Jerusalén a Babilonia.

Nebuchadnezzar took captive to Babylon King Jehoiachin; his mother, his wives, his officials, and the chief and mighty men of the land he took from Jerusalem to Babylon into exile.

16 T odos los hombres valientes, siete mil, y los artesanos y herreros, mil, todos fuertes y aptos para la guerra, también a éstos el rey de Babilonia llevó en cautiverio a Babilonia.

And the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon all the men of valor, 7, 000, and craftsmen and smiths, 1, 000, all strong and fit for war.

17 E ntonces el rey de Babilonia puso por rey en lugar de Joaquín, a su tío Matanías y cambió su nombre por el de Sedequías.

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s uncle, king in his stead and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18 S edequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Hamutal, hija de Jeremías, de Libna.

Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began his eleven-year reign in Jerusalem. His mother was Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

19 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, conforme a todo lo que había hecho Joacim.

He did evil in the sight of the Lord, in keeping with all Jehoiakim had done.

20 P or causa de la ira del Señor sucedió esto en Jerusalén y en Judea, hasta que los echó de su presencia. Y Sedequías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia.

For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that He cast them out of His presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
