1 Т огава шуахецът Валдад в отговор каза:

¶ Then Bildad, the Shuhite, answered and said,

2 Д о кога ще говориш така, И думите на устата ти ще бъдат като силен вятър?

How long wilt thou speak such things and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

3 Б ог променя ли съда? Или Всемогъщият променя правдата?

Shall God pervert that which is right or shall the Almighty pervert justice?

4 А ко Му са съгрешили чадата ти, И Той ги е предал на последствията от беззаконието им;

Because thy sons sinned against him, he cast them away in the place of their rebellion;

5 А ко би ти прилежно потърсил Бога, Ако би се помолил на Всемогъщия,

if thou would seek God early and make thy supplication to the Almighty,

6 Т огава, ако беше ти чист и праведен, Непременно сега Той би се събудил да работи за тебе, И би направил да благоденствува праведното ти жилище;

if thou wert pure and upright, surely now he would awake upon thee and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

7 И при все да е било малко началото ти, Пак сетнините ти биха се уголемили много.

In such a way that thy beginning would have been small, in comparison to the great increase of thy latter.

8 П онеже, попитай, моля, предишните родове, И внимавай на изпитаното от бащите им;

¶ Ask, I pray thee, of the former age, and be willing to enquire of thy fathers regarding them;

9 ( Защото ние сме вчерашни и не знаем нищо, Тъй като дните на земята са сянката);

for we are but of yesterday and know nothing because our days upon earth are as a shadow.

10 Н е щат ли те да те научат и да ти явят, И да произнесат думи от сърцата си?

Shall they not teach thee and tell thee and utter these words out of their heart?

11 Н икне ли рогоза без тиня? Расте ли тръстиката без вода?

Can the rush grow up without mire? Can the meadow grow without water?

12 Д огде е зелена и неокосена Изсъхва преди всяка друга трева.

Whilst it is yet in its greenness and not cut down, it withers before any other herb.

13 Т ака са пътищата на всички, които забравят Бога; И надеждата на нечестивия ще загине.

So are the paths of all that forget God, and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish.

14 Н адеждата му ще се пресече; Упованието му е паяжина.

For his hope shall be cut off, and his trust is a spider’s web.

15 Т ой ще се опре на къщата си, но тя не ще устои; Ще се хване за нея, но не ще утрае.

He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

16 Т ой зеленее пред слънцето, И клончетата му се простират в градината му;

Like a tree, he is green before the sun, and his branches go forth over his garden;

17 К орените му се сплитат в грамадата камъни; Той гледа на камъните като дом;

his roots weave themselves around a spring and secure themselves even in a stony place.

18 Н о пак, ако го изтръгне някой от мястото му, Тогава мястото ще се отрече от него, казвайки: Не съм те видял.

If he is uprooted from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

19 Е то, това е радостта на пътя му! И от пръстта други ще поникнат.

Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth from where he was transplanted, others shall grow.

20 Е то, Бог няма да отхвърли непорочния, Нито ще подири ръката на злотворците.

¶ Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man; neither will he help the evil doers.

21 В се пак ще напълни устата ти със смях И устните ти с възклицание.

He will yet fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouts of joy.

22 О ния, които те мразят, ще се облекат със срам; И шатърът на нечестивите няма вече да съществува.

Those that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
