1 П ри това, дигни плач за Израилевите първенци, и речи:

¶ And take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,

2 Щ о беше майка ти? Лъвица. Лежеше между лъвовете, Хранеше лъвчетата си всред млади лъвове.

and thou shalt say, How hast thy mother, the lioness, lain down among the lions? She raised her whelps among the young lions.

3 Т я изхрани едно от лъвчетата си, Което, като стана млад лъв, И се научи да граби лов, ядеше човеци.

And she brought up one of her whelps; it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey and to devour men.

4 И народите чуха за него; Хванат биде в ямата им, И с куки го закараха в Египетската земя.

The Gentiles also heard of him; he was taken in their trap, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.

5 А тя като видя, че надеждата й изчезна и се изгуби, Взе още едно от лъвчетата си Та направи и него млад лъв.

Now when she saw that she had waited a long time and her hope was being lost, then she took another of her whelps and made him a young lion.

6 И като ходеше между лъвовете Стана млад лъв, Който, когато се научи да граби лов, ядеше човеци.

And he went up and down among the lions; he became a young lion and learned to catch the prey and devoured men.

7 Той познаваше палатите им, И запустяваше градовете им; И от гласа на рева му Ужасяваше се земята и това, което я пълнеше.

And he knew their widows, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fullness thereof, by the voice of his roaring.

8 Т огава се опълчиха против него народите от околните области И простряха върху него мрежите си; Той се хвана в ямата им.

Then the Gentiles set against him on every side from the provinces and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.

9 И с куки го туриха в решетка Та го закараха при Вавилонския цар; Туриха го в крепост, За да се не чуе вече гласа му По Израилевите планини.

And they put him in prison in chains and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into fortresses that his voice should no longer be heard upon the mountains of Israel.

10 М айка ти, с жизненост като твоята, Беше като лоза, посадена при вода; Стана плодоносна и клонеста От многото води.

¶ Thy mother was like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters, bearing fruit and spreading forth branches by reason of the many waters.

11 И зраснаха по нея яки жезли За скиптри на владетелите, И ръстът им стигна нависоко всред гъстите клончета, И те се отличаваха с височината си И с многото си отрасли.

And she had strong rods for the sceptres of those that bore rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height and with the multitude of her branches.

12 Н о тя биде изтръгната с ярост, Хвърлена бе на земята, И източен вятър изсуши плода й; Яките й жезли се счупиха и изсъхнаха; Огън ги изяде.

But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit; her branches were broken, and she withered; fire consumed the rod of her strength.

13 А сега тя е посадена в пустиня, В суха и безводна земя.

And now she is planted in the wilderness in a dry and thirsty ground.

14 И огън излезе из един жезъл от клончетата й Та изяде плода й, Тъй щото няма вече в нея жезъл достатъчно як За владетелски скиптър. Това е плач, и ще служи за плач.

And fire is gone out of the rod from her branches, which has devoured her fruit, so that no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule has remained in her. This is a lamentation and shall be for a lamentation.
