1 И тъй, като отхвърлите всяка злоба, всяка лукавщина, лицемерие, завист и всяко одумване,

¶ Having therefore left all malice and all guile and hypocrisies and envies and all murmurings,

2 п ожелавайте като новородени младенци чистото духовно мляко, за да пораснете чрез него към спасение,

as newborn babes, desire the rational milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby in health;

3 а ко сте опитали, +че Господ е благ;+

if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is benevolent;

4 П ри Когото идвайки като при жив камък, от човеците отхвърлен, а от Бога избран и скъпоценен,

¶ coming unto whom (is the living Stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious),

5 и вие, като живи камъни се съграждате в духовен дом, за да станете свето свещенство, да принасяте духовни жертви, благоприятни на Бога чрез Исуса Христа.

ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, well pleasing to God by Jesus, the Christ.

6 З ащото е писано в писанието: _

Therefore, also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion the chief corner stone, chosen, precious; and he that believes on him shall not be confounded.

7 З а вас, прочее, които вярвате, Той е скъпоценност, а на тия които не вярват, "Камъкът, който отхвърлиха зидарите, Той стана глава на ъгъла",

Unto you, therefore, who believe he is precious; but unto those who are disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

8 и , "Камъкът, о който да се спъват, и канара, в която да се съблазняват"; защото се спъват о словото и са непокорни, _

and a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, even to those who stumble at the word, not obeying in that for which they were ordained.

9 В ие, обаче, сте избран род, царско свещенство, свят народ, люде, които Бог придоби, за да възвестява превъзходствата на Този, Който ви призова от тъмнината в Своята чудесна светлина.

But ye are the chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, an acquired people, that ye should show forth the virtues of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

10 в ие, които някога си не бяхте народ, а сега сте Божи народ, не бяхте придобили милост, а сега сте придобили.

Ye who in the time past were not a people, but are now the people of God, who in the time past had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

11 В ъзлюбени, умоляваме ви, като пришелци и чужденци на света, да се въздържате от плътски страсти, които воюват против душата;

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from the carnal desires which war against the soul

12 д а живеете благоприлично между езичниците, тъй щото относно това, за което ви одумват като злодейци, да прославят Бога в времето, когато ще ги посети, понеже виждат добрите ви дела.

and have your honest conversation among the Gentiles, so that, in that which they murmur about you as of evildoers, having witnessed your good works, they may glorify God in the day of visitation.

13 П окорявайте се заради Господа на всяка човешка власт, било на царя, като върховен владетел,

¶ Therefore, be subject to every human ordinance that is of the Lord, whether it be to a king or to a superior,

14 б ило на управителите, като пратеници от него, за да наказват злодейците и за похвала на добротворците.

and unto governors as unto those that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those that do well.

15 З ащото това е Божията воля, като правите добро, да затуляте устата на невежите и глупави човеци;

For this is the will of God, that in well doing ye may silence the ignorance of vain men,

16 к ато свободни, обаче, не употребяващи свободата за покривало на злото, но като Божии слуги.

as being free, yet not using your liberty to cover maliciousness, but as slaves of God.

17 П очитайте всички; обичайте братството; от Бога се бойте, царя почитайте.

Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

18 С луги, покорявайте се на господарите си с пълен страх, не само на добрите и кротките, но и на опърничавите;

Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and humane, but also to the unjust.

19 з ащото това е благоугодно, ако някой от съзнанието за Бога претърпява оскърбления, като страда несправедливо.

For this is due to grace, if a man for conscience toward God endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

20 З ащото, каква похвала, ако понасяте търпеливо, когато ви бият за престъпленията ви? Но когато вършите добро и страдате, ако понасяте търпеливо, това е угодно пред Бога.

For what glory is it if, when ye are buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is due to grace from God.

21 З ащото и на това сте призовани; понеже и Христос пострада за вас, и ви остави пример да последвате по Неговите стъпки;

Because for this were ye called: for the Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps

22 К ойто грях не е сторил, нито се е намерила лукавщина в устата Му;

who did no sin neither was guile found in his mouth,

23 К ойто бидейки охулван, хула не отвръщаше; като страдаше, не заплашваше; но предаваше делото Си на Този, Който съди справедливо;

who, when he was cursed, did not return the curse; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judges righteously;

24 К ойто сам понесе в тялото Си нашите грехове на дървото, тъй щото, като сме умрели за греховете, да живеем за правдата; с Чиято рана вие оздравяхте.

he himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose wound ye were healed.

25 З ащото като овца блуждаехте, но сега се върнахте при Пастиря и Епископа на душите ви.

For ye were as sheep that had gone astray, but are now converted unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
