1 E very wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

2 H e that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

Който ходи в правотата си, се бои от Господа; а опакият в пътищата си Го презира.

3 I n the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

В устата на безумния има пръчка за гордостта му, а устните на мъдрите ще ги пазят.

4 W here no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

Където няма волове, яслите са чисти, но в силата на воловете е голямото изобилие.

5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

Верният свидетел няма да лъже, а лъжливият свидетел диша лъжи.

6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

Присмивателят търси мъдрост и не я намира, а за разумния учението е лесно.

7 G o from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

Отмини безумния човек, щом си узнал, че той няма разумни устни.

8 T he wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Мъдростта на благоразумния е да обмисля пътя си, а глупостта на безумните е да заблуждават.

9 F ools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

У глупците живее вина, а между праведните има Божие благоволение.

10 T he heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

Сърцето познава своята си горест и чужд не участва в неговата радост.

11 T he house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

Къщата на нечестивите ще бъде съборена, а шатърът на праведните ще благоденства.

12 T here is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Има път, който се вижда прав на човека, но краят му е пътища към смърт.

13 E ven in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

Даже и сред смеха сърцето си има болката и краят на веселието е тегота.

14 T he backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Развратният по сърце ще се насити от своите пътища, а добрият човек ще се насити от себе си.

15 T he simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Простият вярва на всяка дума, а благоразумният внимава добре в стъпките си.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Мъдрият се бои и се отклонява от злото, а безумният самонадеяно се хвърля напред.

17 H e that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

Избухливият човек постъпва несмислено и зломислещият е мразен.

18 T he simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

Безумните наследяват глупост, а благоразумните се увенчават със знание.

19 T he evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

Злите се кланят пред добрите и нечестивите - при портите на праведния.

20 T he poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

Сиромахът е мразен даже от ближния си, а на богатия приятелите са много.

21 H e that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

Който презира ближния си, съгрешава, а който показва милост към сиромасите, е блажен.

22 D o they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

Не се ли заблуждават онези, които измислят зло? А милост и вярност ще се показват към тези, които измислят добро.

23 I n all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

От всеки труд има полза, а от бъбренето с устните - само оскъдност.

24 T he crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

Богатството на мъдрите е венец за тях, а глупостта на безумните е винаги глупост.

25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

Верният свидетел избавя души, а който издиша лъжи, е цяла измама.

26 I n the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

В страха от Господа има силна увереност и Неговите деца ще имат прибежище.

27 T he fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Страхът от Господа е извор на живот, за да се отдалечава човек от примките на смъртта.

28 I n the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

Когато народът е многоброен, слава е за царя, а когато народът е малоброен, съсипване е за княза.

29 H e that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Който не се гневи бързо, показва голямо благоразумие, а който лесно се гневи, проявява безумие.

30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Тихо сърце е живот на тялото, а разяреността е гнилост на костите.

31 H e that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

Който угнетява бедния, нанася укор на Създателя, а който е милостив към бедните, показва почит към Него.

32 T he wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

Нечестивият е смазан във време на бедствието си, а праведният и в смъртта си има упование.

33 W isdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

В сърцето на разумния мъдростта почива, а между безумните тя се явява.

34 R ighteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Правдата възвисява народ, а грехът е позор за племената.

35 T he king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

Благоволението на царя е към разумния слуга, а яростта му - против онзи, който докарва срам.
