1 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

И Господ говорѝ на Моисей:

2 S end thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.

Изпратѝ мъже, за да съгледат Ханаанската земя, която Аз давам на израелтяните; да изпратите по един мъж от всяко племе на бащите им и всички да са от първенците между тях.

3 A nd Moses by the commandment of the Lord sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

И така, според Божието повеление Моисей ги изпрати от Фаранската пустиня; всичките мъже бяха главни между израелтяните.

4 A nd these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.

Ето имената им: от Рувимовото племе - Самуй, Закхуровият син;

5 O f the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.

от Симеоновото племе - Сафат, Хориевият син;

6 O f the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

от Юдовото племе - Халев, Ефониевият син;

7 O f the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.

от Исахаровото племе - Игал, Йосифовият син;

8 O f the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun.

от Ефремовото племе - Осия, Навиновият син;

9 O f the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.

от Вениаминовото племе - Фалтий, Рефуевият син;

10 O f the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.

от Завулоновото племе - Гадиил, Содиевият син;

11 O f the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.

от Йосифовото племе, от Манасиевото племе - Гадий, Сусиевият син;

12 O f the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.

от Дановото племе - Амиил, Гамалиевият син;

13 O f the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.

от Асировото племе - Сетур, Михаиловият син;

14 O f the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.

от Нефталимовото племе - Наавий, Вопсиевият син;

15 O f the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.

от Гадовото племе - Геуил, Махиевият син;

16 T hese are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.

Тези са имената на мъжете, които Моисей изпрати, за да съгледат земята; и Моисей наименува Осия, Навиновия син, Исус.

17 A nd Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:

Като ги изпрати да съгледат Ханаанската земя, Моисей им каза: Качете се по южната страна и се изкачете на хълмовете,

18 a nd see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;

и вижте каква е земята, и народът, който живее в нея, силен ли е или слаб, малко ли е или много;

19 a nd what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;

и каква е земята, на която той живее, добра ли е или лоша; и какви са градовете, в които той живее, от шатри ли са или са укрепени;

20 a nd what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

и каква е земята, плодовита ли е или постна, има ли по нея дървета или не. Бъдете смели и донесете от плодовете на земята. А тогава беше времето на първозрялото грозде.

21 S o they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.

И така, те се качиха и съгледаха земята от Цинската пустиня до Роов при прохода на Емат.

22 A nd they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

После се изкачиха по южната страна и дойдоха до Хеврон, където живееха Енаковите синове Ахиман, Сесай и Талмай. (А Хеврон беше построен седем години преди Египетския Зоан.)

23 A nd they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

И като дойдоха до долината Есхол, оттам отрязаха една лозова пръчка с един грозд, който двама носеха на върлина; взеха и нарове, и смокини.

24 T he place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.

Онова място бе наречено долина Есхол по причина на грозда, който израелтяните отрязаха оттам.

25 A nd they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

А на края на четиридесетте дни те се върнаха от съгледването на земята.

26 A nd they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

Дойдоха при Моисей, при Аарон и при цялото общество израелтяни във Фаранската пустиня, в Кадис, и дадоха отчет на тях и на цялото общество, и им показаха плода на земята.

27 A nd they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

И му разказаха: Ходихме в земята, в която ни изпрати; и наистина там текат мляко и мед; ето и плода ѝ.

28 N evertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

Народът обаче, който живее в земята, е силен и градовете са укрепени и много големи; там видяхме още и Енаковите синове.

29 T he Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

Амаличаните живеят в земята към юг; хетите, йевусейците и аморейците живеят по планините; а ханаанците живеят при морето и край бреговете на Йордан.

30 A nd Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

Но Халев успокояваше народа пред Моисей, като казваше: Да вървим напред незабавно и да я завладеем, защото можем да я превземем.

31 B ut the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

А мъжете, които бяха отишли заедно с него, казаха: Не можем да излезем против онзи народ, защото е по-силен от нас.

32 A nd they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

И представяха зле пред израелтяните земята, която бяха съгледали, като казваха: Земята, която обходихме, за да я съгледаме, е земя, която поглъща своите жители; и целият народ, който видяхме в нея, са много високи мъже.

33 A nd there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Там видяхме исполините, Енаковите синове, от исполинския род; и пред тях на нас ни се виждаше, че сме като скакалци; такива се виждахме и на тях.
