1 I f there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

Ако се появи разпра между хора и дойдат пред съда, и съдиите ги съдят, тогава нека оправдаят правия и осъдят виновния.

2 A nd it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.

И ако виновният е заслужил бой, съдията да заповяда да го повалят долу и да бъде наказан с тоягите пред него, с брой, който отговаря на престъплението му.

3 F orty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.

Четиридесет удара може да му ударят, а не повече; да не би, като превишават и му ударят много повече от тези удари, брат ти да бъде унижен пред очите ти.

4 T hou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.

Да не завързваш устата на вола, когато вършее.

5 I f brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.

Ако братя живеят заедно и един от тях умре бездетен, жената на умрелия да не се омъжи вън от семейството му за чужд; братът на мъжа ѝ да влезе при нея и да я вземе за своя жена, и да изпълни към нея длъжността на девер.

6 A nd it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

И първородният, когото тя роди, да носи името на умрелия си брат, за да не се изличи името му от Израел.

7 A nd if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.

Но ако човекът не желае да вземе жената на брат си, тогава жената на брат му да отиде при градските порти пред старейшините и да каже: Деверът ми отказва да възстанови името на брат си в Израел; не иска да изпълни към мене длъжността на девер.

8 T hen the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;

Тогава старейшините на града му да го повикат и да му говорят; и ако той упорства: Не желая да я взема,

9 t hen shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.

тогава жената на брат му да се обърне към него пред старейшините и като събуе обувката от крака му, да плюе на лицето му и да каже: Така ще се прави на човек, който не иска да съзижда дома на брат си.

10 A nd his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.

И той да се нарича в Израел с името Бет-Халуц-Ханнаал.

11 W hen men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:

Ако се сбият двама души и жената на единия се намеси, за да освободи мъжа си от ръката на този, който го бие, и посегне и го хване за срамните му части,

12 t hen thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

тогава да отсечеш ръката ѝ; окото ти да не я пожали!

13 T hou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.

Да нямаш в торбата си различни теглилки, тежки и леки.

14 T hou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.

Да нямаш в къщата си различни ефи, голяма и малка.

15 B ut thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Вярна и права теглилка да имаш; вярна и права ефа да имаш; за да се продължат дните ти на земята, която Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава.

16 F or all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the Lord thy God.

Защото всички, които вършат неправда, са мерзост за Господа, твоя Бог.

17 R emember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;

Помни какво ти направи Амалик по пътя, когато излязохте от Египет,

18 h ow he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.

как той излезе насреща ти по пътя и порази хората ти, останали назад, всички изостанали поради слабост, когато ти беше спрял от умора; а той не се побоя от Бога.

19 T herefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.

Поради това, когато те успокои Господ, твоят Бог от всичките неприятели около тебе в земята, която Господ, твоят Бог, ти дава в наследство за притежание, заличи спомена за Амалик под небето; да не забравиш.
