1 D ios mío, ¡no guardes silencio! Dios mío, ¡no te quedes callado!

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

2 D ate cuenta de que tus enemigos rugen, de que te desafían los que te aborrecen.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

3 C on astucia y en secreto conspiran contra tu pueblo; se han juntado y hacen planes contra tus protegidos.

They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

4 A menazantes dicen: «¡Vamos a destruir a Israel! ¡Borremos de la memoria el nombre de esa nación!»

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

5 C onspiran con un solo propósito: establecen alianzas para luchar en contra tuya

For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

6 l os campamentos edomitas e ismaelitas, y también los moabitas y los agarenos,

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

7 l os de Gebal, los de Amón y de Amalec, los filisteos y los habitantes de Tiro.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

8 T ambién los asirios se les han unido, y brindan su apoyo a los descendientes de Lot.

Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

9 ¡ Haz con ellos lo que hiciste con Madián! ¡Trátalos como a Sísara y Jabín en el arroyo de Cisón!

Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

10 E llos fueron derrotados en Endor, y se convirtieron en estiércol para la tierra.

Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

11 ¡ Trata a sus capitanes y a todos sus príncipes como trataste a Oreb y a Zeeb, a Zebaj y a Salmuná,

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

12 e sos que amenazantes decían: «¡Vamos a adueñarnos de los pastizales de Dios!»

Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

13 D ios mío, ¡envuélvelos en un torbellino! ¡Arrástralos como hojas secas lanzadas al viento!

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

14 ¡ Que ardan como el fuego que consume el monte! ¡Que ardan como las llamas que abrasan el bosque!

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

15 ¡ Persíguelos con tu tempestad! ¡Hazlos temblar de miedo con tu torbellino!

So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

16 ¡ Llénales la cara de vergüenza, para que busquen, Señor, tu nombre!

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O Lord.

17 ¡ Que sean avergonzados y turbados para siempre! ¡Que sean deshonrados, y perezcan!

Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

18 ¡ Que reconozcan que tu nombre es el Señor, y que sólo tú, Altísimo, estás sobre toda la tierra!

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.
