1 ¶ O come, let us bring joy unto the LORD; let us sing with joy unto the rock of our saving health.

Venite, cantiamo con gioia al Signore, acclamiamo alla Rocca della nostra salvezza!

2 L et us come before his presence with thanksgiving and sing unto him with joy.

Presentiamoci a lui con lodi, celebriamolo con salmi!

3 F or the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods.

Poiché il Signore è un Dio grande, un gran Re sopra tutti gli dèi.

4 I n his hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.

Nelle sue mani sono le profondità della terra e le altezze dei monti sono sue.

5 T he sea is his, and he made it; and his hands formed the dry land.

Suo è il mare, perché egli l’ha fatto e le sue mani hanno plasmato la terra asciutta.

6 O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Venite, adoriamo e inchiniamoci, inginocchiamoci davanti al Signore che ci ha fatti.

7 ¶ For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice,

Poiché egli è il nostro Dio, e noi siamo il popolo di cui ha cura e il gregge che la sua mano conduce.

8 h arden not your heart, as in the provocation and as in the day of trials in the wilderness

Oggi, se udite la sua voce, non indurite il vostro cuore come a Meriba, come nel giorno di Massa nel deserto,

9 W hen your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

quando i vostri padri mi tentarono, mi misero alla prova sebbene avessero visto le mie opere.

10 F orty years long I was grieved with this generation and said, It is a people that err from the heart, who have not known my ways;

Quarant’anni ebbi in disgusto quella generazione e dissi: «È un popolo dal cuore traviato; essi non conoscono le mie vie ».

11 u nto whom I swore in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Perciò giurai nella mia ira: «Non entreranno nel mio riposo!»
