1 ¶ O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

2 F or the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

Poiché il Signore, l’Altissimo, è tremendo, re supremo su tutta la terra.

3 H e shall guide the peoples under us, and the Gentiles under our feet.

Egli sottomette i popoli a noi e pone le nazioni sotto i nostri piedi.

4 H e shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

Egli ha scelto per noi la nostra eredità, gloria di Giacobbe che egli ama.

5 ¶ God is gone up with a shout of joy, the LORD with the sound of the shofar.

Dio sale tra grida di trionfo, il Signore sale al suono di trombe.

6 S ing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

Cantate a Dio, cantate; cantate al nostro re, cantate!

7 F or God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises with understanding.

Poiché Dio è re di tutta la terra; cantategli un inno solenne.

8 G od reigns over the Gentiles; God sits upon the throne of his holiness.

Dio regna sui popoli; Dio siede sul suo trono santo.

9 T he princes of the peoples have joined the people of the God of Abraham; for the shields of the earth belong unto God; he is greatly exalted.

I capi dei popoli si riuniscono insieme al popolo del Dio di Abraamo; perché a Dio appartengono i potenti della terra; egli è l’Altissimo.
