1 ¶ And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread and wear our own apparel; only let us be called by thy name to take away our reproach.

In quel giorno sette donne afferreranno un uomo e diranno: «Noi mangeremo il nostro pane, ci vestiremo delle nostre vesti; facci solo portare il tuo nome! Togli via da noi il disonore!» Purificazione e gloria d’Israele

2 ¶ In that day the branch of the LORD shall be for beauty and glory and the fruit of the earth for greatness and honour to those that are freed of Israel.

In quel giorno il germoglio del Signore sarà lo splendore e la gloria degli scampati d’Israele, e il frutto della terra sarà il loro vanto e il loro ornamento.

3 A nd it shall come to pass that he that is left in Zion and he that remains in Jerusalem shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem,

Avverrà che i sopravvissuti di Sion e i superstiti di Gerusalemme saranno chiamati santi: chiunque, cioè, in Gerusalemme sarà iscritto tra i vivi,

4 W hen the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning.

una volta che il Signore avrà lavato le brutture delle figlie di Sion, e avrà purificato Gerusalemme dal sangue che vi è stato sparso, con il soffio del giudizio e con il soffio dello sterminio.

5 A nd the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion and upon the places of her assemblies a cloud and darkness by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night because over all glory there shall be a covering.

Il Signore creerà su tutta la distesa del monte Sion e sulle sue assemblee una nuvola di fumo per il giorno e uno splendore di fuoco fiammeggiante per la notte; perché su tutta la gloria vi sarà un padiglione.

6 A nd there shall be a covert for a shadow in the daytime from the heat and for a place of refuge and for a shelter from storm and from rain.

Ci sarà un riparo per fare ombra di giorno e proteggere dal caldo, e per servire di rifugio e di asilo durante la tempesta e la pioggia.
