1 Т огава Господ отговори на Иова из бурята и каза:

Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,

2 К ой е тогава този, който помрачава <Моя> съвет С неразумни думи?

Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

3 О паши сега кръста си като мъж, И ще те попитам; и ти ми изявявай.

Gird up now your loins like a man, and I will demand of you, and you declare to Me.

4 Г де беше ти, когато основах земята? Извести, ако си разумен:

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Declare to Me, if you have and know understanding.

5 К ой определи мерките й? (ако знаеш) Или кой тегли връв <за мерене> по нея?

Who determined the measures of the earth, if you know? Or who stretched the measuring line upon it?

6 Н а какво се вдълбочиха основите й? Или кой положи краеъгълния й камък,

Upon what were the foundations of it fastened, or who laid its cornerstone,

7 К огато звездите на зората пееха заедно, И всичките Божии синове възклицаваха от радост?

When the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8 И ли <кой> затвори морето с врати, Когато се устреми та излезе из матка,

Or who shut up the sea with doors when it broke forth and issued out of the womb?—

9 К огато го облякох с облак И го пових с мъгла,

When I made the clouds the garment of it, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it,

10 И поставих му граница от Мене, Турих лостове и врати,

And marked for it My appointed boundary and set bars and doors,

11 И рекох: До тук ще дохождаш, но не по-нататък, И тук ще се спират гордите ти вълни?

And said, Thus far shall you come and no farther; and here shall your proud waves be stayed?

12 О ткак <започнаха> дните ти заповядал ли си ти на утрото И показал на зората мястото й,

Have you commanded the morning since your days began and caused the dawn to know its place,

13 З а да обхване краищата на земята, Така щото да се изтърсят от нея злодейците

So that may get hold of the corners of the earth and shake the wickedness out of it?

14 Т а да се преобразува тя, както глина под печат, И <всичко> да изпъква като че ли в облекло,

It is changed like clay into which a seal is pressed; and things stand out like a many-colored garment.

15 А от нечестивите да се отнема виделината им, И издигнатата им мишца да се строши?

From the wicked their light is withheld, and their uplifted arm is broken.

16 П рониквал ли си до изворите на морето? Или ходил ли си да изследваш бездната?

Have you explored the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep?

17 О ткриха ли се на тебе вратите на смъртта? Или видял ли си сенчестите врати на смъртта?

Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the doors of deep darkness?

18 С хванал ли си широчината на земята? Кажи, ако си разбрал всичко това.

Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell Me, if you know it all.

19 Г де е пътят към обиталището на светлината? И на тъмнината где е мястото й,

Where is the way where light dwells? And as for darkness, where is its abode,

20 З а да я заведеш до границата й, И да познаеш пътеките към дома й?

That you may conduct it to its home, and may know the paths to its house?

21 & lt;Без съмнение>, ти знаеш, защото тогаз си се родил, И голямо е числото на твоите дни!

You must know, since you were born then! Or because you are so extremely old!

22 В лизал ли си в съкровищниците за снега, Или виждал ли си съкровищниците за градушката,

Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, or have you seen the treasuries of the hail,

23 К оито пазя за време на скръб, За ден на бой и на война?

Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?

24 Щ о е пътят <за мястото, гдето> се разсява светлината, Или се разпръсва по земята източният вятър?

By what way is the light distributed, or the east wind spread over the earth?

25 К ой е разцепил водопровод за проливните дъждове, Или път за светкавицата на гърма,

Who has prepared a channel for the torrents of rain, or a path for the thunderbolt,

26 З а да се докара дъжд върху ненаселена земя, Върху пустинята, гдето няма човек,

To cause it to rain on the uninhabited land on the desert where no man lives,

27 З а да насити пустата и запустяла <земя. >И да направи нежната трева да изникне?

To satisfy the waste and desolate ground and to cause the tender grass to spring forth?

28 Д ъждът има ли баща? Или кой е родил капките на росата?

Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?

29 О т чия матка излиза ледът? И кой е родил небесната слана? -

Out of whose womb came the ice? And the hoary frost of heaven, who has given it birth?

30 & lt;Когато> водите се втвърдяват като камък, И повърхността на бездната се смръзва.

The waters are congealed like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

31 Т и ли връзваш връзките на Плеадите, Или развързваш въжетата на Ориона?

Can you bind the chains of Pleiades, or loose the cords of Orion?

32 И звеждаш ли Мазарот {Вероятно някое съзвездие или звезда.} на времето му? Или управляваш Мечката с малките й?

Can you lead forth the signs of the zodiac in their season? Or can you guide the Bear with her young?

33 П ознаваш ли законите на небето? Установяваш ли неговото владичество върху земята?

Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule upon the earth?

34 И здигаш ли гласа си до облаците, За да те покрият изобилни води?

Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, so that an abundance of waters may cover you?

35 И зпращаш ли светкавици, та да излизат И да ти казват: Ето ни?

Can you send lightnings, that they may go and say to you, Here we are?

36 К ой е турил мъдрост в облаците? Или кой е дал разум на гъстите облаци?

Who has put wisdom in the inward parts ? Or who has given understanding to the mind ?

37 К ой с мъдрост брои облаците? Или кой излива небесните мехове

Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of the heavens

38 Т а да се сгъстява пръстта в куп, И буците да се слепят?

When the dust to run into a mass and the clods to cleave fast together?

39 У лавят ли лов за лъвицата? Или насищат ли охотата на лъвовите малки,

Can you hunt the prey for the lion? Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions

40 К огато седят в рововете си, <И> остават в скривалищата за да причакват?

When they couch in their dens or lie in wait in their hiding place?

41 К ой приготвя за враната храната й, Когато пилетата й от нямане храна Се скитат и викат към Бога?

Who provides for the raven its prey when its young ones cry to God and wander about for lack of food?
