1 И сега, ето заповедта, която се дава на вас, свещеници.

And now, O you priests, this commandment is for you.

2 А ко не послушате, и ако не вземете присърце Да отдадете слава на името Ми, Казва Господ на Силите, Тогава ще пратя върху вас проклетията, И ще прокълна благословията ви; Дори ги проклех вече, Понеже не вземате <това> присърце.

If you will not hear and if you will not lay it to heart to give glory to My name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yes, I have already turned them to curses because you do not lay it to heart.

3 Е то, Аз ще разваля семето ви, И ще намажа лицата ви с нечистотии, Нечистотиите от жертвите ви; И ще бъдете отнесени заедно с тях,

Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and I will spread the dung from the festival offerings upon your faces, and you shall be taken away with it.

4 И ще познаете, Че Аз ви пратих тая заповед, За да бъде <потвърден> заветът ми с Левия, Казва Господ на Силите.

And you shall know, recognize, and understand that I have sent this decree to you priests, to be My covenant with Levi, says the Lord of hosts.

5 З аветът Ми беше с него за живот и за мир, Които и му дадох заради страха, С който Ми се боеше и се страхуваше от името Ми.

My covenant was to give him life and peace, because of the fear with which would revere Me and stand in awe of My name.

6 З аконът на истината беше в устата му, И неправда не се намери в устните му; Ходеше с Мене в мир и правота, И отвърна мнозина от беззаконие.

The law of truth was in mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness and turned many away from iniquity.

7 П онеже устните на свещеника трябва да пазят знание, И от неговите уста трябва <людете> да искат закона. Защото той е посланик на Господа на Силите.

For the priest’s lips should guard and keep pure the knowledge, and the people should seek (inquire for and require) instruction at his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.

8 Н о вие се отклонихте от пътя, Направихте мнозина да се спъват в закона, Извратихте завета <направен> с Левия, Казва Господ на Силите.

But you have turned aside out of the way; you have caused many to stumble by your instruction; you have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts.

9 З атова и Аз ви направих презряни И унижени пред всичките люде, Защото не сте опазили пътищата Ми, Но сте били лицеприятни относно закона.

Therefore have I also made you despised and abased before all the people, inasmuch as you have not kept My ways but have shown favoritism to persons in your administration of the law.

10 Н ямаме ли ние всички един Отец? Не един ли Бог ни е създал? Тогава защо се обхождаме коварно всеки против брата си Та оскверняваме завета <направен> с бащите ни?

Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why then do we deal faithlessly and treacherously each against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?

11 Ю да постъпи коварно, И гнусота се извърши в Израил и в Ерусалим; Защото Юда оскверни светилището на Господа, което Той люби, И се ожени за дъщеря на чужд бог.

Judah has been faithless and dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holy sanctuary of the Lord which He loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

12 Г оспод ще изтреби от Якововите шатри Човека, който прави това, Както оня, който поучава <това>, така и оня, който го {Еврейски: Както оня, който буди, така и оня, който отговаря.} слуша, И оня, който донася принос Господу на Силите.

The Lord will cast out of the tents of Jacob to the last man those who do this, the master and the servant alike, even him who brings an offering to the Lord of hosts.

13 П равите още и това: Покривате олтара на Господа със сълзи С плач и с въздишки, Поради което Той не поглежда вече приноса, Нито го приема с благоволение от ръката ви.

And this you do with double guilt; you cover the altar of the Lord with tears, and with weeping and crying out because the Lord does not regard your offering any more or accept it with favor at your hand.

14 И пак казвате: Защо? Защото Господ стана свидетел Между тебе и жената на младостта ти Към която си постъпил невярно, При все че ти е съпруга и заветната жена,

Yet you ask, Why does He reject it? Because the Lord was witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously and to whom you were faithless. Yet she is your companion and the wife of your covenant.

15 З ащото не направи ли Той <двамата> един <човек>, Ако и да имаше още от духа< на живота? >И защо един? За да очаква набожно потомство. Затова внимавайте в похотите си, И никой да не постъпва невярно към жената на младостта си.

And did not God make one ? Did not One make you and preserve your spirit alive? And why one? Because He sought a godly offspring. Therefore take heed to yourselves, and let no one deal treacherously and be faithless to the wife of his youth.

16 З ащото, казва Господ, Израилевия Бог: Аз мразя напускане, - И онзи, който покрива дрехите си с насилие, Казва Господ на Силите. Затова внимавайте в похотите си, Да не би да постъпвате невярно.

For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit, that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly.

17 Д отегнахте Господу с думите си; Но пак казвате: С какво Му дотегнахме? С това, дето думате: Всеки, който върши зло, Добър е пред Господа, и Той благоволява в тях; Иначе, къде е Бог на правосъдието?

You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say, In what way have we wearied Him? you say, Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord and He delights in them. Or, Where is the God of justice?
