1 С лушайте сега що казва Господ. Стани, <ми казва Той>, съди се пред планините, И нека чуят хълмите гласа ти, <като им кажеш>:

Hear now what the Lord says: Arise, contend and plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.

2 П ланини, и вие, твърди основи на земята, Слушайте спора Господен; Защото Господ има спор с людете си, И ще се съди с Израиля.

Hear, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and you strong and enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has a controversy (a pleading contention) with His people, and He will contend with Israel.

3 Л юде Мои, що ви сторих? И с какво ви досадих? Заявявайте против Мене.

O My people, what have I done to you? And in what have I wearied you? Testify against Me!

4 З ащото Аз ви възведох из Египетската земя, Избавих ви от дома на робството, И пратих пред вас Моисея, Аарона, и Мариам.

For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house where you were bond servants, and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

5 Л юде мои, спомнете си сега какво намеряваше моавският цар Валак, И какво му отговори Валаам Веоровият син; <Спомнете си всичко станало> между Ситим и Галгал, За да познаете справедливите дела Господни.

O My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous and saving acts of the Lord.

6 С какво да дойда пред Господа, И се поклоня пред Всевишния Бог? Да дойда ли пред Него с всеизгаряния, С едногодишни телци?

With what shall I come before the Lord and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

7 Щ е благоволи ли Господ в хиляди овни, <Или> в десетки хиляди реки от масло? Да дам ли първородния си за престъплението си, Плода на утробата си за греха на душата си?

Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 Т ой ти е показал, човече, що е доброто; И какво иска Господ от тебе Освен да вършиш праведното, да обичаш милост, И да ходиш смирено със своя Бог?

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?

9 Г ласът Господен вика към града, И мъдрият <човек> ще се бои от името Ти; Слушайте тоягата и Онзи, Който я е определил.

The voice of the Lord calls to the city —and it is sound wisdom to hear and fear Your name—Hear (heed) the rod and Him Who has appointed it.

10 Н амират ли се още съкровищата <спечелени> с нечестие В дома на нечестивия, И омразната недостатъчна мярка?

Are there not still treasures gained by wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable and accursed?

11 Д а оправдая ли <града> гдето има неверни везни И мешец с измамливи грамове?

Can I be pure with wicked scales and with a bag of deceitful weights?

12 З ащото богаташите му са пълни с насилие, Жителите му лъжат, И езикът им в устата им е измамлив.

For rich men are full of violence; her inhabitants have spoken lies and their tongues are deceitful in their mouths.

13 З атова и Аз като те поразих с люта рана, Ще те запустя поради греховете ти.

Therefore I have also smitten you with a deadly wound and made you sick, laying you desolate, waste, and deserted because of your sins.

14 Щ е ядеш, но няма да се насищаш, И гладуването ти <ще остане> във вътрешностите ти; Ще прибереш <стоките си>, но няма да <ги> отнесеш, И каквото отнесеш ще го предам на меч.

You shall eat but not be satisfied, and your emptiness and hunger shall remain in you; you shall carry away but fail to save them, and those you do deliver I will give to the sword.

15 Т и ще сееш, но няма да жънеш, Ще изстискаш маслини, Но няма да се мажеш с масло, <Ще изстискаш> <и> гроздовата беритба, Но няма да пиеш вино.

You shall sow but not reap; you shall tread olives but not anoint yourselves with oil, and the grapes but not drink the wine.

16 З ащото се опазват повеленията на Амрия, И всичките дела на Ахаавовия дом, И ходите по техните мъдрувания; Затова ще те предам на погибел, И жителите ти на подсвиркване; И вие ще носите укора <произнесен> против людете Ми.

For the statutes of Omri you have kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and you walk in their counsels. Therefore I will make you a desolation and an astonishment and your inhabitants a hissing, and you shall bear the reproach and scorn of My people.
