1 ¿ Se atreve alguno de vosotros, cuando tiene algo contra otro, llevar el asunto ante los injustos y no delante de los santos?

Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

2 ¿ No sabéis que los santos han de juzgar al mundo? Y si el mundo ha de ser juzgado por vosotros, ¿sois indignos de juzgar asuntos tan pequeños?

Or know ye not that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world is judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 ¿ No sabéis que hemos de juzgar a los ángeles? ¿Cuánto más las cosas de esta vida?

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more, things that pertain to this life?

4 S i, pues, tenéis pleitos sobre asuntos de esta vida, ¿por qué ponéis, para juzgar, a los que son de menor estima en la iglesia?

If then ye have to judge things pertaining to this life, do ye set them to judge who are of no account in the church?

5 P ara avergonzaros lo digo. Pues qué, ¿no hay entre vosotros ni uno solo que sea sabio para poder juzgar entre sus hermanos?

I say this to move you to shame. What, cannot there be found among you one wise man who shall be able to decide between his brethren,

6 U n hermano pleitea contra otro hermano, ¡y lo hace ante los incrédulos!

but brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?

7 C iertamente, ya es una falta en vosotros que tengáis pleitos entre vosotros mismos. ¿Por qué no sufrís más bien el agravio? ¿Por qué no sufrís más bien el ser defraudados?

Nay, already it is altogether a defect in you, that ye have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather take wrong? why not rather be defrauded?

8 P ero vosotros cometéis el agravio y defraudáis, ¡y esto a los hermanos!

Nay, but ye yourselves do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

9 ¿ No sabéis que los injustos no heredarán el reino de Dios? No os engañéis: ni los fornicarios, ni los idólatras, ni los adúlteros, ni los afeminados, ni los homosexuales,

Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men,

10 n i los ladrones, ni los avaros, ni los borrachos, ni los maldicientes, ni los estafadores, heredarán el reino de Dios.

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

11 Y esto erais algunos de vosotros, pero ya habéis sido lavados, ya habéis sido santificados, ya habéis sido justificados en el nombre del Señor Jesús y por el Espíritu de nuestro Dios. Glorificad a Dios en vuestro cuerpo

And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.

12 T odas las cosas me son lícitas, pero no todas convienen; todas las cosas me son lícitas, pero yo no me dejaré dominar por ninguna.

All things are lawful for me; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any.

13 L os alimentos son para el vientre, y el vientre para los alimentos; pero tanto al uno como a los otros destruirá Dios. Pero el cuerpo no es para la fornicación, sino para el Señor y el Señor para el cuerpo.

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:

14 Y Dios, que levantó al Señor, también a nosotros nos levantará con su poder.

and God both raised the Lord, and will raise up as through his power.

15 ¿ No sabéis que vuestros cuerpos son miembros de Cristo? ¿Quitaré, pues, los miembros de Cristo y los haré miembros de una ramera? ¡De ninguna manera!

Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ? shall I then take away the members of Christ, and make them members of a harlot? God forbid.

16 ¿ O no sabéis que el que se une con una ramera, es un cuerpo con ella?, porque ¿no dice la Escritura: «Los dos serán una sola carne»?

Or know ye not that he that is joined to a harlot is one body? for, The twain, saith he, shall become one flesh.

17 P ero el que se une al Señor, un espíritu es con él.

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 H uid de la fornicación. Cualquier otro pecado que el hombre cometa, está fuera del cuerpo; pero el que fornica, contra su propio cuerpo peca.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 ¿ O ignoráis que vuestro cuerpo es templo del Espíritu Santo, el cual está en vosotros, el cual habéis recibido de Dios, y que no sois vuestros?,

Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;

20 p ues habéis sido comprados por precio; glorificad, pues, a Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.

for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.
