1 » Acontecerá que si oyes atentamente la voz de Jehová, tu Dios, para guardar y poner por obra todos sus mandamientos que yo te prescribo hoy, también Jehová, tu Dios, te exaltará sobre todas las naciones de la tierra.

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth:

2 Y vendrán sobre ti y te alcanzarán todas estas bendiciones, si escuchas la voz de Jehová, tu Dios.

and all these blessings shall come upon thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God.

3 » Bendito serás tú en la ciudad y bendito en el campo.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

4 » Bendito el fruto de tu vientre, el fruto de tu tierra, el fruto de tus bestias, la cría de tus vacas y los rebaños de tus ovejas.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy beasts, the increase of thy cattle, and the young of thy flock.

5 » Benditas serán tu canasta y tu artesa de amasar.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough.

6 » Bendito serás en tu entrar y bendito en tu salir.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

7 » Jehová derrotará a los enemigos que se levanten contra ti; por un camino saldrán contra ti y por siete caminos huirán de ti.

Jehovah will cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thee: they shall come out against thee one way, and shall flee before thee seven ways.

8 » Jehová enviará su bendición sobre tus graneros y sobre todo aquello en que pongas tu mano, y te bendecirá en la tierra que Jehová, tu Dios, te da.

Jehovah will command the blessing upon thee in thy barns, and in all that thou puttest thy hand unto; and he will bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.

9 » Te confirmará Jehová como su pueblo santo, como te lo ha jurado, si guardas los mandamientos de Jehová, tu Dios, y sigues sus caminos.

Jehovah will establish thee for a holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee; if thou shalt keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, and walk in his ways.

10 E ntonces verán todos los pueblos de la tierra que el nombre de Jehová es invocado sobre ti, y te temerán.

And all the peoples of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of Jehovah; and they shall be afraid of thee.

11 J ehová te hará sobreabundar en bienes, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tu bestia y en el fruto de tu tierra, en el país que Jehová juró a tus padres que te había de dar.

And Jehovah will make thee plenteous for good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 T e abrirá Jehová su buen tesoro, el cielo, para enviar la lluvia a tu tierra en su tiempo y para bendecir toda la obra de tus manos. Prestarás a muchas naciones, y tú no pedirás prestado.

Jehovah will open unto thee his good treasure the heavens, to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

13 T e pondrá Jehová por cabeza y no por cola; estarás encima solamente, nunca debajo, si obedeces los mandamientos de Jehová, tu Dios, que yo te ordeno hoy; si los guardas y cumples,

And Jehovah will make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou shalt hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them,

14 y no te apartas de todas las palabras que yo te mando hoy, ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda, para ir tras dioses ajenos y servirlos. Consecuencias de la desobediencia

and shalt not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

15 » Pero acontecerá, si no oyes la voz de Jehová, tu Dios, y no procuras cumplir todos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos que yo te ordeno hoy, vendrán sobre ti y te alcanzarán todas estas maldiciones.

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day, that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

16 » Maldito serás tú en la ciudad y maldito en el campo.

Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

17 » Maldita serán tu canasta y tu artesa de amasar.

Cursed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough.

18 » Maldito el fruto de tu vientre, el fruto de tu tierra, la cría de tus vacas y los rebaños de tus ovejas.

Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, the increase of thy cattle, and the young of thy flock.

19 » Maldito serás en tu entrar y maldito en tu salir.

Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

20 » Jehová enviará contra ti la maldición, el quebranto y el asombro en todo cuanto pongas tu mano y hagas, hasta que seas destruido y perezcas muy pronto a causa de la maldad de las obras por las cuales me habrás dejado.

Jehovah will send upon thee cursing, discomfiture, and rebuke, in all that thou puttest thy hand unto to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the evil of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

21 J ehová traerá sobre ti mortandad, hasta que te haga desaparecer de la tierra a la cual vas a entrar para tomarla en posesión.

Jehovah will make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest in to possess it.

22 J ehová te herirá de tisis, de fiebre, de inflamación y de ardor, con sequía, con calamidad repentina y con añublo, que te perseguirán hasta que perezcas.

Jehovah will smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with fiery heat, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

23 » Los cielos que están sobre tu cabeza serán de bronce, y de hierro la tierra que está debajo de ti.

And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

24 D ará Jehová como lluvia a tu tierra polvo y ceniza; de los cielos descenderán sobre ti hasta que perezcas.

Jehovah will make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

25 J ehová te entregará derrotado delante de tus enemigos; por un camino saldrás contra ellos y por siete caminos huirás de ellos. Serás el espanto de todos los reinos de la tierra.

Jehovah will cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies; thou shalt go out one way against them, and shalt flee seven ways before them: and thou shalt be tossed to and from among all the kingdoms of the earth.

26 T us cadáveres servirán de comida a todas las aves del cielo y a las fieras de la tierra, y no habrá quien las espante.

And thy dead body shall be food unto all birds of the heavens, and unto the beasts of the earth; and there shall be none to frighten them away.

27 » Jehová te herirá con la úlcera de Egipto, con tumores, con sarna y con comezón de que no puedas ser curado.

Jehovah will smite thee with the boil of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scurvy, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

28 J ehová te herirá con locura, ceguera y turbación de espíritu,

Jehovah will smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart;

29 y palparás al mediodía como palpa el ciego en la oscuridad. No serás prosperado en tus caminos; no serás sino oprimido y robado todos los días, y no habrá quien te salve.

and thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and robbed alway, and there shall be none to save thee.

30 » Te desposarás con una mujer y otro hombre dormirá con ella; edificarás una casa y no habitarás en ella; plantarás una viña y no la disfrutarás.

Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not use the fruit thereof.

31 T u buey será matado ante tus propios ojos, y no comerás de él; tu asno será arrebatado en tu presencia, y no te será devuelto; tus ovejas serán entregadas a tus enemigos, y no tendrás quien te las rescate.

Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to save thee.

32 T us hijos y tus hijas serán entregados a otro pueblo; tus ojos lo verán, y desfallecerán tras ellos todo el día, pero nada podrás hacer.

Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people; and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day: and there shall be nought in the power of thy hand.

33 E l fruto de tu tierra y de todo tu trabajo lo comerá un pueblo que no conociste, y no serás sino oprimido y quebrantado todos los días.

The fruit of thy ground, and all thy labors, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway;

34 Y enloquecerás a causa de lo que verás con tus ojos.

so that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

35 T e herirá Jehová con maligna pústula en las rodillas y en las piernas, desde la planta de tu pie hasta tu coronilla, sin que puedas ser curado.

Jehovah will smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore boil, whereof thou canst not be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the crown of thy head.

36 » Jehová os llevará, a ti y al rey que hayas puesto sobre ti, a una nación que ni tú ni tus padres conocíais, y allá servirás a dioses ajenos, al palo y a la piedra.

Jehovah will bring thee, and thy king whom thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation that thou hast not known, thou nor thy fathers; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

37 S erás motivo de horror, y servirás de refrán y de burla en todos los pueblos a los cuales te llevará Jehová.

And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all the peoples whither Jehovah shall lead thee away.

38 S acarás mucha semilla al campo y recogerás poco, porque la langosta lo consumirá.

Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather little in; for the locust shall consume it.

39 P lantarás viñas y labrarás, pero no beberás vino ni recogerás uvas, porque el gusano se las comerá.

Thou shalt plant vineyards and dress them, but thou shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worm shall eat them.

40 T endrás olivos en todo tu territorio, pero no te ungirás con el aceite, porque tu aceituna se caerá.

Thou shalt have olive-trees throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast its fruit.

41 H ijos e hijas engendrarás, y no serán para ti, porque irán en cautiverio.

Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be thine; for they shall go into captivity.

42 T oda tu arboleda y el fruto de tu tierra serán consumidos por la langosta.

All thy trees and the fruit of thy ground shall the locust possess.

43 E l extranjero que estará en medio de ti se elevará sobre ti muy alto, y tú descenderás muy abajo.

The sojourner that is in the midst of thee shall mount up above thee higher and higher; and thou shalt come down lower and lower.

44 É l te prestará a ti y tú no le prestarás a él; él estará a la cabeza y tú a la zaga.

He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

45 » Vendrán sobre ti todas estas maldiciones, te perseguirán y te alcanzarán hasta que perezcas; por cuanto no habrás atendido a la voz de Jehová, tu Dios, para guardar los mandamientos y los estatutos que él te mandó.

And all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

46 Y serán sobre ti y tu descendencia como una señal y un prodigio para siempre.

and they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

47 » Por cuanto no serviste a Jehová, tu Dios, con alegría y con gozo de corazón, cuando tenías abundancia de todas las cosas,

Because thou servedst not Jehovah thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, by reason of the abundance of all things;

48 s ervirás, por tanto, a tus enemigos que enviará Jehová contra ti, con hambre, con sed y con desnudez, y con falta de todas las cosas. Él pondrá un yugo de hierro sobre tu cuello, hasta destruirte.

therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies that Jehovah shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

49 J ehová traerá contra ti una nación venida de lejos, de los confines de la tierra, que volará como águila, una nación cuya lengua no entiendas;

Jehovah will bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

50 g ente fiera de rostro, que no tendrá respeto del anciano ni perdonará al niño.

a nation of fierce countenance, that shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young,

51 E lla se comerá el fruto de tu bestia y el fruto de tu tierra, hasta que perezcas; no te dejará grano, ni mosto, ni aceite, ni la cría de tus vacas, ni los rebaños de tus ovejas, hasta destruirte.

and shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, until thou be destroyed; that also shall not leave thee grain, new wine, or oil, the increase of thy cattle, or the young of thy flock, until they have caused thee to perish.

52 » Pondrá sitio a todas tus ciudades, hasta que caigan en toda tu tierra los muros altos y fortificados en que tú confías. Sitiará, pues, todas tus ciudades y toda la tierra que Jehová, tu Dios, te haya dado.

And they shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fortified walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land; and they shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee.

53 C omerás el fruto de tu vientre, la carne de tus hijos y de tus hijas que Jehová, tu Dios, te dio, en medio del sitio y el apuro con que te angustiará tu enemigo.

And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, whom Jehovah thy God hath given thee, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee.

54 E l hombre más amable y delicado entre los tuyos mirará con malos ojos a su hermano, a la mujer de su corazón y al resto de los hijos que le queden,

The man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children whom he hath remaining;

55 p ara no compartir con ellos la carne de sus hijos, que él se comerá, por no haberle quedado nada en medio del asedio y la angustia a que te reducirá tu enemigo en todas tus ciudades.

so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat, because he hath nothing left him, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in all thy gates.

56 L a más amable y delicada entre vosotros, de tan pura delicadeza y ternura que nunca intentaría sentar sobre la tierra la planta de su pie, mirará con malos ojos al marido de su corazón, a su hijo, a su hija,

The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

57 y por carecer de todo, se ocultará para comer la placenta que sale de entre sus pies y a los hijos que dé a luz, en medio del asedio y la angustia a que te reducirá tu enemigo en tus ciudades.

and toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children whom she shall bear; for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

58 » Si no cuidas de poner por obra todas las palabras de esta Ley que están escritas en este libro, temiendo a ese nombre glorioso y temible de Jehová, tu Dios,

If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, JEHOVAH THY GOD;

59 e ntonces Jehová aumentará terriblemente tus plagas y las plagas de tu descendencia, plagas grandes y permanentes, enfermedades malignas y duraderas,

then Jehovah will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

60 y traerá sobre ti todos los males de Egipto, delante de los cuales temiste, y no te dejarán.

And he will bring upon thee again all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

61 A simismo toda enfermedad y toda plaga que no está escrita en el libro de esta Ley, Jehová la enviará sobre ti, hasta que seas destruido.

Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will Jehovah bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

62 Y quedaréis sólo unos pocos, en lugar de haber sido tan numerosos como las estrellas del cielo, por cuanto no obedecisteis a la voz de Jehová, tu Dios.

And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou didst not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God.

63 A sí como Jehová se gozaba en haceros bien y en multiplicaros, así se gozará Jehová en arruinaros y en destruiros. Seréis arrancados de sobre la tierra a la que vais a entrar para tomarla en posesión.

And it shall come to pass, that, as Jehovah rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so Jehovah will rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

64 J ehová te esparcirá por todos los pueblos, desde un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro extremo, y allí servirás a dioses ajenos que no conociste tú ni tus padres, al leño y a la piedra.

And Jehovah will scatter thee among all peoples, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou nor thy fathers, even wood and stone.

65 Y ni aun entre estas naciones descansarás, ni la planta de tu pie tendrá reposo, pues allí te dará Jehová un corazón temeroso, languidez de ojos y tristeza de alma.

And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, and there shall be no rest for the sole of thy foot: but Jehovah will give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and pining of soul;

66 T endrás la vida como algo que pende delante de ti, estarás temeroso de noche y de día y no tendrás seguridad de tu vida.

and thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear night and day, and shalt have no assurance of thy life.

67 P or la mañana dirás: “¡Quién diera que fuera la tarde!”, y a la tarde dirás: “¡Quién diera que fuera la mañana!”, por el miedo que amedrentará tu corazón y por lo que verán tus ojos.

In the morning thou shalt say, Would it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would it were morning! for the fear of thy heart which thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

68 Y Jehová te hará volver a Egipto en naves, por el camino del cual te ha dicho: “Nunca más volverás”, y allí seréis vendidos a vuestros enemigos como esclavos y esclavas, y no habrá quien os compre.»

And Jehovah will bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I said unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall sell yourselves unto your enemies for bondmen and for bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
