1 R ubén era el primogénito de Israel, pero como profanó el lecho de su padre, sus derechos de primogenitura fueron dados a los hijos de José hijo de Israel, y no fue contado por primogénito.

And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel (for he was the first-born; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

2 E s verdad que Judá llegó a ser más poderoso que sus hermanos, y el príncipe de ellos, pero el derecho de primogenitura fue de José.

For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the prince; but the birthright was Joseph's:)

3 L os hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, fueron: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi.

the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

4 L os descendientes de Joel fueron: Semaías, Gog, Simei,

The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

5 M icaía, Reaía, Baal,

Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

6 B eera, principal de los rubenitas, que fue llevado cautivo por Tiglat-pileser, rey de los asirios.

Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

7 S us hermanos, por sus familias, según el registro de sus genealogías, fueron Jeiel, el primero y Zacarías.

And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

8 B ela hijo de Azaz hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, habitó en Aroer hasta Nebo y Baal-meón.

and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-meon:

9 H abitó también al oriente hasta el borde del desierto que se extiende desde el río Éufrates, porque su ganado se había multiplicado en la tierra de Galaad.

and eastward he dwelt even unto the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

10 E n los días de Saúl hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, los cuales cayeron en sus manos; y ellos habitaron en sus tiendas en toda la región oriental de Galaad. Descendientes de Gad

And in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.

11 L os hijos de Gad habitaron enfrente de ellos en la tierra de Basán hasta Salca.

And the sons of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salecah:

12 J oel fue el principal en Basán; el segundo, Safán, luego Jaanai, después Safat.

Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13 S us hermanos, según las familias de sus padres, fueron Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacán, Zía y Heber; por todos siete.

And their brethren of their fathers' houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.

14 É stos fueron los hijos de Abihail hijo de Huri hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz.

These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

15 T ambién Ahí hijo de Abdiel hijo de Guni, fue principal en la casa de sus padres.

Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers' houses.

16 E llos habitaron en Galaad, en Basán y en sus aldeas, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón, hasta sus confines.

And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as their borders.

17 T odos estos fueron contados por sus generaciones en días de Jotam, rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam, rey de Israel. Historia de las dos tribus y media

All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18 L os hijos de Rubén y de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que llevaban escudo y espada, que manejaban el arco, y diestros en la guerra, eran cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a batalla.

The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were forty and four thousand seven hundred and threescore, that were able to go forth to war.

19 E stos guerrearon contra los agarenos, Jetur, Nafis y Nodab.

And they made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.

20 P ero en medio de la guerra clamaron a Dios y él les ayudó, por cuanto confiaron en él, de tal manera que los agarenos y todos los que con ellos estaban cayeron en sus manos.

And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

21 Y tomaron sus ganados: cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas y dos mil asnos; también cien mil personas.

And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men a hundred thousand.

22 Y cayeron muchos muertos, porque la guerra era de Dios; y habitaron en sus lugares hasta el cautiverio.

For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.

23 L os hijos de la media tribu de Manasés, multiplicados en gran manera, habitaron en la tierra desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón, Senir y el monte Hermón.

And the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir and mount Hermon.

24 É stos fueron los jefes de las casas de sus padres: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Jahdiel, hombres valientes y esforzados, hombres famosos y jefes de las casas de sus padres.

And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

25 P ero se rebelaron contra el Dios de sus padres, y se prostituyeron siguiendo a los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, a los cuales Jehová había quitado de delante de ellos;

And they trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

26 p or lo cual el Dios de Israel excitó el espíritu de Pul, rey de los asirios, y el espíritu de Tiglat-pileser, rey de los asirios, el cual deportó a los rubenitas y gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor, a Hara y al río Gozán, hasta el día de hoy.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
