3 G reat is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.

L'Éternel est grand et très digne de louange, Et sa grandeur est insondable.

4 O ne generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.

Que chaque génération célèbre tes oeuvres, Et publie tes hauts faits!

5 I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.

Je dirai la splendeur glorieuse de ta majesté; Je chanterai tes merveilles.

6 M en shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness.

On parlera de ta puissance redoutable, Et je raconterai ta grandeur.

7 T hey shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, And shall sing of Your righteousness.

Qu'on proclame le souvenir de ton immense bonté, Et qu'on célèbre ta justice!

8 T he Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.

L'Éternel est miséricordieux et compatissant, Lent à la colère et plein de bonté.

9 T he Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

L'Éternel est bon envers tous, Et ses compassions s'étendent sur toutes ses oeuvres.

10 A ll Your works shall praise You, O Lord, And Your saints shall bless You.

Toutes tes oeuvres te loueront, ô Éternel! Et tes fidèles te béniront.

11 T hey shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of Your power,

Ils diront la gloire de ton règne, Et ils proclameront ta puissance,

12 T o make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.

Pour faire connaître aux fils de l'homme ta puissance Et la splendeur glorieuse de ton règne.

13 Y our kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Ton règne est un règne de tous les siècles, Et ta domination subsiste dans tous les âges.

14 T he Lord upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down.

L'Éternel soutient tous ceux qui tombent, Et il redresse tous ceux qui sont courbés.

15 T he eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season.

Les yeux de tous espèrent en toi, Et tu leur donnes la nourriture en son temps.

16 Y ou open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Tu ouvres ta main, Et tu rassasies à souhait tout ce qui a vie.

17 T he Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works.

L'Éternel est juste dans toutes ses voies, Et miséricordieux dans toutes ses oeuvres.

18 T he Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.

L'Éternel est près de tous ceux qui l'invoquent, De tous ceux qui l'invoquent avec sincérité;

19 H e will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.

Il accomplit les désirs de ceux qui le craignent, Il entend leur cri et il les sauve.

20 T he Lord preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy.

L'Éternel garde tous ceux qui l'aiment, Et il détruit tous les méchants.

21 M y mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, And all flesh shall bless His holy name Forever and ever.

Que ma bouche publie la louange de l'Éternel, Et que toute chair bénisse son saint nom, A toujours et à perpétuité!
