1 A fter these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.

Après cela, le Seigneur désigna encore soixante-dix autres disciples, et il les envoya deux à deux devant lui dans toutes les villes et dans tous les lieux où lui-même devait aller.

2 T hen He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Il leur dit: La moisson est grande, mais il y a peu d'ouvriers. Priez donc le maître de la moisson d'envoyer des ouvriers dans sa moisson.

3 G o your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

Partez; voici, je vous envoie comme des agneaux au milieu des loups.

4 C arry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.

Ne portez ni bourse, ni sac, ni souliers, et ne saluez personne en chemin.

5 B ut whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’

Dans quelque maison que vous entriez, dites d'abord: Que la paix soit sur cette maison!

6 A nd if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.

Et s'il se trouve là un enfant de paix, votre paix reposera sur lui; sinon, elle reviendra à vous.

7 A nd remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.

Demeurez dans cette maison-là, mangeant et buvant ce qu'on vous donnera; car l'ouvrier mérite son salaire. N'allez pas de maison en maison.

8 W hatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.

Dans quelque ville que vous entriez, et où l'on vous recevra, mangez ce qui vous sera présenté,

9 A nd heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

guérissez les malades qui s'y trouveront, et dites-leur: Le royaume de Dieu s'est approché de vous.

10 B ut whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say,

Mais dans quelque ville que vous entriez, et où l'on ne vous recevra pas, allez dans ses rues, et dites:

11 ‘ The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’

Nous secouons contre vous la poussière même de votre ville qui s'est attachée à nos pieds; sachez cependant que le royaume de Dieu s'est approché.

12 B ut I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city. Woe to the Impenitent Cities

Je vous dis qu'en ce jour Sodome sera traitée moins rigoureusement que cette ville-là.

13 “ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

Malheur à toi, Chorazin! malheur à toi, Bethsaïda! car, si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous avaient été faits dans Tyr et dans Sidon, il y a longtemps qu'elles se seraient repenties, en prenant le sac et la cendre.

14 B ut it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.

C'est pourquoi, au jour du jugement, Tyr et Sidon seront traitées moins rigoureusement que vous.

15 A nd you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.

Et toi, Capernaüm, qui as été élevée jusqu'au ciel, tu seras abaissée jusqu'au séjour des morts.

16 H e who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” The Seventy Return with Joy

Celui qui vous écoute m'écoute, et celui qui vous rejette me rejette; et celui qui me rejette rejette celui qui m'a envoyé.

17 T hen the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

Les soixante-dix revinrent avec joie, disant: Seigneur, les démons mêmes nous sont soumis en ton nom.

18 A nd He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Jésus leur dit: Je voyais Satan tomber du ciel comme un éclair.

19 B ehold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Voici, je vous ai donné le pouvoir de marcher sur les serpents et les scorpions, et sur toute la puissance de l'ennemi; et rien ne pourra vous nuire.

20 N evertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Jesus Rejoices in the Spirit

Cependant, ne vous réjouissez pas de ce que les esprits vous sont soumis; mais réjouissez-vous de ce que vos noms sont écrits dans les cieux.

21 I n that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

En ce moment même, Jésus tressaillit de joie par le Saint Esprit, et il dit: Je te loue, Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, de ce que tu as caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et de ce que tu les as révélées aux enfants. Oui, Père, je te loue de ce que tu l'as voulu ainsi.

22 A ll things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. ”

Toutes choses m'ont été données par mon Père, et personne ne connaît qui est le Fils, si ce n'est le Père, ni qui est le Père, si ce n'est le Fils et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler.

23 T hen He turned to His disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see;

Et, se tournant vers les disciples, il leur dit en particulier: Heureux les yeux qui voient ce que vous voyez!

24 f or I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it. ” The Parable of the Good Samaritan

Car je vous dis que beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont désiré voir ce que vous voyez, et ne l'ont pas vu, entendre ce que vous entendez, et ne l'ont pas entendu.

25 A nd behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

Un docteur de la loi se leva, et dit à Jésus, pour l'éprouver: Maître, que dois-je faire pour hériter la vie éternelle?

26 H e said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it? ”

Jésus lui dit: Qu'est-il écrit dans la loi? Qu'y lis-tu?

27 S o he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the L ord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

Il répondit: Tu aimeras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force, et de toute ta pensée; et ton prochain comme toi-même.

28 A nd He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

Tu as bien répondu, lui dit Jésus; fais cela, et tu vivras.

29 B ut he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

Mais lui, voulant se justifier, dit à Jésus: Et qui est mon prochain?

30 T hen Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Jésus reprit la parole, et dit: Un homme descendait de Jérusalem à Jéricho. Il tomba au milieu des brigands, qui le dépouillèrent, le chargèrent de coups, et s'en allèrent, le laissant à demi mort.

31 N ow by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

Un sacrificateur, qui par hasard descendait par le même chemin, ayant vu cet homme, passa outre.

32 L ikewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.

Un Lévite, qui arriva aussi dans ce lieu, l'ayant vu, passa outre.

33 B ut a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

Mais un Samaritain, qui voyageait, étant venu là, fut ému de compassion lorsqu'il le vit.

34 S o he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Il s'approcha, et banda ses plaies, en y versant de l'huile et du vin; puis il le mit sur sa propre monture, le conduisit à une hôtellerie, et prit soin de lui.

35 O n the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’

Le lendemain, il tira deux deniers, les donna à l'hôte, et dit: Aie soin de lui, et ce que tu dépenseras de plus, je te le rendrai à mon retour.

36 S o which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”

Lequel de ces trois te semble avoir été le prochain de celui qui était tombé au milieu des brigands?

37 A nd he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” Mary and Martha Worship and Serve

C'est celui qui a exercé la miséricorde envers lui, répondit le docteur de la loi. Et Jésus lui dit: Va, et toi, fais de même.

38 N ow it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.

Comme Jésus était en chemin avec ses disciples, il entra dans un village, et une femme, nommée Marthe, le reçut dans sa maison.

39 A nd she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.

Elle avait une soeur, nommée Marie, qui, s'étant assise aux pieds du Seigneur, écoutait sa parole.

40 B ut Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

Marthe, occupée à divers soins domestiques, survint et dit: Seigneur, cela ne te fait-il rien que ma soeur me laisse seule pour servir? Dis-lui donc de m'aider.

41 A nd Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.

Le Seigneur lui répondit: Marthe, Marthe, tu t'inquiètes et tu t'agites pour beaucoup de choses.

42 B ut one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Une seule chose est nécessaire. Marie a choisi la bonne part, qui ne lui sera point ôtée.
