1 А вместо Аса се възцари син му Иосафат, който се засили против Израиля;

And Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead, and he strengtheneth himself against Israel,

2 з ащото тури военни сили във всичките укрепени градове на Юда, и постави гарнизони в Юдовата земя и в Ефремовите градове, които баща му Аса бе превзел.

and putteth a force in all the fenced cities of Judah, and putteth garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that Asa his father had captured.

3 И Господ бе с Иосафата, понеже той ходи в първите пътища на баща си Давида и не потърси ваалимите,

And Jehovah is with Jehoshaphat, for he hath walked in the first ways of David his father, and hath not sought to Baalim,

4 н о потърси Бога на бащите си, и в Неговите заповеди ходи, а не по делата на Израиля.

for to the God of his father he hath sought, and in His commands he hath walked, and not according to the work of Israel.

5 З атова Господ, утвърди царството в ръката му; и целият Юда даде подаръци на Иосафата; и той придоби богатство и голяма слава.

And Jehovah doth establish the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah give a present to Jehoshaphat, and he hath riches and honour in abundance,

6 П ри това, като се поощри сърцето му в Господните пътища, той отмахна от Юда високите места и ашерите.

and his heart is high in the ways of Jehovah, and again he hath turned aside the high places and the shrines out of Judah.

7 Т оже в третата година от царуването си прати първенците си Венхаила, Авдия, Захария, Натанаила и Михаия да поучават в Юдовите градове,

And in the third year of his reign he hath sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah,

8 и с тях левитите Семаия, Натания, Зевадия, Асаила, Семирамота, Ионатана, Адония, Товия и Товадония, левитите, и заедно с тях свещениците Елисама и Иорама.

and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

9 И те поучаваха в Юда, като имаха със себе си книгата на Господния закон; и обхождаха всичките Юдови градове та поучаваха людете.

And they teach in Judah, and with them the Book of the Law of Jehovah, and they go round about into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.

10 И страх от Господа обзе всичките царства в земите, които бяха около Юда, та не воюваха против Иосафата.

And here is a fear of Jehovah on all kingdoms of the lands that round about Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;

11 Н якои и от филистимците донесоха подаръци на Иосафата, и сребро като данък; арабите още му докараха стада: седем хиляди и седемстотин овена, и седем хиляди и седемстотин козли.

and of the Philistines they are bringing in to Jehoshaphat a present, and tribute silver; also, the Arabians are bringing to him a flock, rams seven thousand an seven hundred, and he-goats seven thousand and seven hundred.

12 И Иосафат продължаваше да се възвеличава твърде много; и съгради в Юда крепости и житници-градове.

And Jehoshaphat is going on and becoming very great, and he buildeth in Judah palaces and cities of store,

13 И имаше много работи в Юдовите градове, и военни мъже, силни и храбри, в Ерусалим.

and he hath much work in cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty of valour, in Jerusalem.

14 А ето броят им, според бащините им домове: от Юда хилядници: Адна, началникът, и с него триста хиляди души силни и храбри;

And these their numbers, for the house of their fathers: Of Judah, heads of thousands, Adnah the head, and with him mighty ones of valour, three hundred chiefs.

15 с лед него, Иоанан, началникът, и с него двеста и осемдесет хиляди души;

And at his hand Jehohanan the head, and with him two hundred and eighty chiefs.

16 с лед него, Амасия Захриевият син, който драговолно принесе себе си Господу, и с него двеста хиляди силни и храбри мъже;

And at his hand Amasiah son of Zichri, who is willingly offering himself to Jehovah, and with him two hundred chiefs, mighty of valour.

17 а от Вениамина: Елиада, силен и храбър, и с него двеста хиляди души въоръжени с лъкове и щитчета;

And of Benjamin: mighty of valour, Eliada, and with him, armed with bow and shield, two hundred chiefs.

18 а след него, Иозавад, и с него сто и осемдесет хиляди души въоръжени за война.

And at his hand Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and eighty chiefs, armed ones of the host.

19 Т ия бяха мъжете, които слугуваха на царя, освен ония, които царят постави в укрепените градове в целия Юда.

These those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the cities of fortress, in all Judah.
