1 В третата година на персийския цар Кир едно нещо се откри на Даниила,който се нарече Валтасасар; това нещо бе истинно, и означаваше големи бедствия; и той разбра нещото и проумя видението,

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a thing is revealed to Daniel, whose name is called Belteshazzar, and the thing true, and the warfare great: and he hath understood the thing, and hath understanding about the appearance.

2 ( В онова време аз Даниил жалеех цели три седмици;

`In those days, I, Daniel, have been mourning three weeks of days;

3 в кусен хляб не ядях, месо и вино не влизаше в устата ми, и ни веднъж не помазах себе си, додето не се навършиха цели три седмици.)

desirable bread I have not eaten, and flesh and wine hath not come in unto my mouth, and I have not anointed myself at all, till the completion of three weeks of days.

4 И на двадесет и четвъртия ден от първия месец, като бях при брега на голямата река, която е Тигър,

`And in the twenty and fourth day of the first month, I have been by the side of the great river, that Hiddekel:

5 к ато повдигнах очите си видях, и ето един човек облечен в ленени дрехи, чийто кръст бе опасан с чисто уфазско злато.

and I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a certain one clothed in linen, and his loins girt with pure gold of Uphaz,

6 Т ялото му бе като хрисолит, лицето му като изгледа на светкавица, очите му като огнени светила, мишците и нозете му бяха наглед като лъскава мед, и гласът на думите му като глас на много народ.

and his body as a beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet as the aspect of bright brass, and the voice of his words as the voice of a multitude.

7 С амо аз Даниил видях видението; а мъжете, които бяха с мене, не видяха видението; но голям трепет ги нападна, та побягнаха да се скрият.

`And I have seen -- I, Daniel, by myself -- the appearance: and the men who have been with me have not seen the appearance, but a great trembling hath fallen on them, and they flee to be hidden;

8 И тъй, аз останах сам да видя това голямо видение, от което не остана сила в мене, защото енергията ми се обърна в тление, та останах безсилен.

and I have been left by myself, and I see this great appearance, and there hath been no power left in me, and my honour hath been turned in me to corruption, yea, I have not retained power.

9 Ч ух обаче гласа на думите му; и като слушах гласа на думите му аз паднах на лицето си в несвяст, с лицето си към земята.

`And I hear the voice of his words, and when I hear the voice of his words, then I have been in a trance on my face, and my face to the earth;

10 И , ето, ръка се допря до мене, която ме тури разклатен на коленете ми и на дланите на ръцете ми.

and lo, a hand hath come against me, and shaketh me on my knees and the palms of my hands.

11 И рече ми: Данииле, мъжу възлюбени, разбери думите, които ти говоря, и стой прав, защото при тебе съм изпратен сега, и когато ми изговори тая дума аз се изправих разтреперан.

`And he saith unto me: Daniel, man greatly desired, attend to the words that I am speaking unto thee, and stand on thy station, for now I have been sent unto thee. `And when he speaketh with me this word, I have stood trembling.

12 Т огава ми рече: Не бой се, Данииле; защото от първия ден откак ти приклони сърцето си да разбираш, и да смириш себе си пред своя Бог, димите ти се послушаха; и аз дойдох поради думите ти.

And he saith unto me: Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that thou didst give thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words have been heard, and I have come because of thy words.

13 О баче князът на персийското царство ми противостоеше двадесет и един дена; но, ето, Михаил, един от главните князе, дойде да ми помогне; аз прочее останах непотребен вече там при персийските царе,

`And the head of the kingdom of Persia is standing over-against me twenty and one days, and lo, Michael, first of the chief heads, hath come in to help me, and I have remained there near the kings of Persia;

14 и сега дойдох да те направя да разбереш що има да стане с людете ти в послешните дни; защото видението се отнася до далечни дни.

and I have come to cause thee to understand that which doth happen to thy people in the latter end of the days, for yet the vision after days.

15 И като ми говореше тия думи, насочих лицето си към земята и останах ням.

`And when he speaketh with me about these things, I have set my face toward the earth, and have been silent;

16 И , ето, един подобен на човешки син се допря до устните ми. Тогава отворих устата си та говорих, като рекох на оногоз, който стоеше пред мене: Господарю мой, от видението болките ми се върнаха, и не остана сила в мене.

and lo, as the manner of the sons of men, he is striking against my lips, and I open my mouth, and I speak, and say unto him who is standing over-against me: My lord, by the appearance turned have been my pangs against me, and I have retained no power.

17 З ащото как може слугата на тоя мой господар да говори с тоя мой господар? Понеже веднага не остана никаква сила в мене, па и дишане не остана в мене.

And how is the servant of this my lord able to speak with this my lord? as for me, henceforth there remaineth in me no power, yea, breath hath not been left in me.

18 Т огава пак се допря до мене нещо като човешки образ и ме подкрепи.

`And he addeth, and striketh against me, as the appearance of a man, and strengtheneth me,

19 и рече: Не бой се, мъжо възлюбени; мир на тебе! крепи се! да! крепи се! И като ми говореше аз се подкрепих, и рекох: Нека говори господарят ми, защото си ме подкрепил.

and he saith: Do not fear, O man greatly desired, peace to thee, be strong, yea, be strong; and when he speaketh with me, I have strengthened myself, and I say, Let my lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me.

20 Т огава каза: Знаеш ли защо съм дошъл при тебе? А сега ще се върна да воювам против княза на Персия; и когато изляза, ето, князът на Гърция ще дойде.

And he saith, Hast thou known why I have come unto thee? and now I turn back to fight with the head of Persia; yea, I am going forth, and lo, the head of Javan hath come;

21 В се пак, обаче, ще ти известя значението на това, което е написано в едно истинско писание, при все че няма кой да ми помага против тия князе, освен вашия княз Михаил.

but I declare to thee that which is noted down in the Writing of Truth, and there is not one strengthening himself with me, concerning these, except Michael your head.
