1 N ow we beseech you, brethren, touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him;

Pero con respecto a la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y a nuestra reunión con El, les rogamos, hermanos,

2 t o the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand;

que no sean sacudidos fácilmente en su modo de pensar, ni se alarmen, ni por espíritu, ni por palabra, ni por carta como si fuera de nosotros, en el sentido de que el día del Señor ha llegado.

3 l et no man beguile you in any wise: for it will not be, except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,

Que nadie los engañe en ninguna manera, porque no vendrá sin que primero venga la apostasía y sea revelado el hombre de pecado, el hijo de perdición.

4 h e that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God.

Este se opone y se exalta sobre todo lo que se llama dios o es objeto de culto, de manera que se sienta en el templo de Dios, presentándose como si fuera Dios.

5 R emember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

¿No se acuerdan de que cuando yo estaba todavía con ustedes les decía esto?

6 A nd now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.

Ustedes saben lo que lo detiene por ahora, para ser revelado a su debido tiempo.

7 F or the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way.

Porque el misterio de la iniquidad (de estar sin ley) ya está en acción, sólo que aquél que por ahora lo detiene, lo hará hasta que él mismo sea quitado de en medio.

8 A nd then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming;

Entonces será revelado ese impío (sin ley), a quien el Señor matará con el espíritu de Su boca, y destruirá con el resplandor (la manifestación) de Su venida.

9 e ven he, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

La venida del impío será conforme a la actividad de Satanás, con todo poder y señales y prodigios mentirosos,

10 a nd with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

y con todo engaño de iniquidad para los que se pierden, porque no recibieron el amor de la verdad para ser salvos.

11 A nd for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie:

Por esto Dios les enviará un poder engañoso, para que crean en la mentira (en lo falso),

12 t hat they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

a fin de que sean juzgados (condenados) todos los que no creyeron en la verdad sino que se complacieron (aprobaron) en la iniquidad. Firmes en la Doctrina

13 B ut we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Pero nosotros siempre tenemos que dar gracias a Dios por ustedes, hermanos amados por el Señor, porque Dios los ha escogido desde el principio para salvación mediante la santificación por el Espíritu y la fe en la verdad.

14 w hereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fue para esto que El los llamó mediante nuestro evangelio, para que alcancen (ganen) la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

15 S o then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours.

Así que, hermanos, estén firmes y conserven (retengan) las doctrinas que les fueron enseñadas, ya de palabra, ya por carta nuestra.

16 N ow our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,

Y que nuestro Señor Jesucristo mismo, y Dios nuestro Padre, que nos amó y nos dio consuelo eterno y buena esperanza por gracia,

17 c omfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

consuele sus corazones y los afirme en toda obra y palabra buena.
