1 T he king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever he will.

Como canales de agua es el corazón del rey en la mano del Señor; El lo dirige donde le place.

2 E very way of a man is right in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the hearts.

Todo camino del hombre es recto ante sus ojos, Pero el Señor sondea los corazones.

3 T o do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.

El hacer justicia y derecho Es más deseado por el Señor que el sacrificio.

4 A high look, and a proud heart, Even the lamp of the wicked, is sin.

Los ojos altivos y el corazón arrogante, Y la lámpara de los impíos son pecado.

5 T he thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; But every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.

Los proyectos del diligente ciertamente son ventaja, Pero todo el que se apresura, ciertamente llega a la pobreza.

6 T he getting of treasures by a lying tongue Is a vapor driven to and fro by them that seek death.

Conseguir tesoros con lengua mentirosa Es un vapor fugaz, es buscar la muerte.

7 T he violence of the wicked shall sweep them away, Because they refuse to do justice.

La violencia de los impíos los arrastrará, Porque se niegan a obrar con justicia.

8 T he way of him that is laden with guilt is exceeding crooked; But as for the pure, his work is right.

Torcido es el camino del pecador Mas el proceder del limpio es recto.

9 I t is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.

Mejor es vivir en un rincón del terrado Que en una casa con mujer rencillosa.

10 T he soul of the wicked desireth evil: His neighbor findeth no favor in his eyes.

El alma del impío desea el mal; Su prójimo no halla favor a sus ojos.

11 W hen the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; And when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

Cuando el insolente es castigado, el simple se hace sabio; Pero cuando se instruye al sabio, adquiere conocimiento.

12 T he righteous man considereth the house of the wicked, How the wicked are overthrown to their ruin.

El justo observa la casa del impío, Llevando al impío a la ruina.

13 W hoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry, but shall not be heard.

El que cierra su oído al clamor del pobre, También él clamará y no recibirá respuesta.

14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger; And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.

Una dádiva en secreto aplaca la ira, Y el soborno bajo el manto, el furor violento.

15 I t is joy to the righteous to do justice; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

El cumplimiento de la justicia es gozo para el justo, Pero terror para los que obran iniquidad.

16 T he man that wandereth out of the way of understanding Shall rest in the assembly of the dead.

El hombre que se aparta del camino del saber Reposará en la asamblea de los muertos.

17 H e that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

El que ama el placer será pobre; El que ama el vino y los ungüentos no se enriquecerá.

18 T he wicked is a ransom for the righteous; And the treacherous cometh in the stead of the upright.

El impío es rescate para el justo, Y el malvado está en lugar de los rectos.

19 I t is better to dwell in a desert land, Than with a contentious and fretful woman.

Mejor es habitar en tierra desierta Que con mujer rencillosa y molesta.

20 T here is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; But a foolish man swalloweth it up.

Tesoro precioso y aceite hay en la casa del sabio, Pero el necio todo lo disipa.

21 H e that followeth after righteousness and kindness Findeth life, righteousness, and honor.

El que sigue la justicia y la lealtad Halla vida, justicia y honor.

22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, And bringeth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

El sabio escala la ciudad de los poderosos Y derriba la fortaleza en que confiaban.

23 W hoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from troubles.

El que guarda su boca y su lengua, Guarda su alma de angustias.

24 T he proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He worketh in the arrogance of pride.

“Altivo,” “arrogante” y “escarnecedor,” son los nombres Del que obra con orgullo insolente.

25 T he desire of the sluggard killeth him; For his hands refuse to labor.

El deseo del perezoso lo mata, Porque sus manos rehúsan trabajar;

26 T here is that coveteth greedily all the day long; But the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.

Todo el día codicia, Mientras el justo da y nada retiene.

27 T he sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: How much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind!

El sacrificio de los impíos es abominación, Cuánto más trayéndolo con mala intención.

28 A false witness shall perish; But the man that heareth shall speak so as to endure.

El testigo falso perecerá, Pero el hombre que escucha la verdad, hablará siempre.

29 A wicked man hardeneth his face; But as for the upright, he establisheth his ways.

El hombre impío muestra audacia en su rostro, Pero el recto asegura su camino.

30 T here is no wisdom nor understanding Nor counsel against Jehovah.

No vale sabiduría, ni entendimiento, Ni consejo, ante el Señor.

31 T he horse is prepared against the day of battle; But victory is of Jehovah.

Se prepara al caballo para el día de la batalla, Pero la victoria es del Señor.
