1 T hou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely bring them again unto thy brother.

“No verás extraviado el buey de tu hermano, o su oveja, sin que te ocupes de ellos; sin falta los llevarás a tu hermano.

2 A nd if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it home to thy house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him.

Y si tu hermano no vive cerca de ti, o si no lo conoces, entonces lo traerás a tu casa, y estará contigo hasta que tu hermano lo busque; entonces se lo devolverás.

3 A nd so shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his garment; and so shalt thou do with every lost thing of thy brother's, which he hath lost, and thou hast found: thou mayest not hide thyself.

Así harás con su asno, y lo mismo harás con su vestido; así harás igualmente con cualquier cosa que tu hermano haya perdido y que tú halles. No te es permitido ignorarlos.

4 T hou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.

No verás el asno de tu hermano, o su buey, caído en el camino sin ocuparte de ellos; sin falta lo ayudarás a levantar los.

5 A woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment; for whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah thy God.

“La mujer no vestirá ropa de hombre, ni el hombre se pondrá ropa de mujer; porque cualquiera que hace esto es abominación al Señor tu Dios.

6 I f a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:

Si encuentras un nido de pájaros por el camino, en un árbol o en la tierra, con polluelos o con huevos, y la madre echada sobre los polluelos o sobre los huevos, no tomarás la madre con los hijos;

7 t hou shalt surely let the dam go, but the young thou mayest take unto thyself; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.

sin falta dejarás ir a la madre, aunque a los hijos los puedes tomar para ti, para que te vaya bien y prolongues tus días.

8 W hen thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thy house, if any man fall from thence.

Cuando edifiques casa nueva, le harás un muro a tu azotea, para que no traigas culpa de sangre sobre tu casa si alguien se cayera de ella.

9 T hou shalt not sow thy vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit be forfeited, the seed which thou hast sown, and the increase of the vineyard.

No sembrarás tu viña con dos clases de semilla, no sea que todo el fruto de la semilla que hayas sembrado y el producto de la viña queden inservibles.

10 T hou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.

No ararás con buey y asno juntos.

11 T hou shalt not wear a mingled stuff, wool and linen together.

No vestirás ropa de material mezclado de lana y lino.

12 T hou shalt make thee fringes upon the four borders of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.

Te harás borlas en las cuatro puntas del manto con que te cubras. Leyes sobre la Moralidad

13 I f any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,

Si un hombre toma a una mujer y se llega a ella, y después la aborrece,

14 a nd lay shameful things to her charge, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came nigh to her, I found not in her the tokens of virginity;

y la acusa de actos vergonzosos y la denuncia públicamente y dice: ‘Tomé a esta mujer, pero al llegarme a ella no la encontré virgen,’

15 t hen shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate;

entonces el padre y la madre de la joven tomarán las pruebas de la virginidad de la joven y las llevarán a los ancianos de la ciudad, a la puerta.

16 a nd the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;

Y el padre de la joven dirá a los ancianos: ‘Yo di mi hija por mujer a este hombre, pero él la aborreció;

17 a nd, lo, he hath laid shameful things to her charge, saying, I found not in thy daughter the tokens of virginity; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the garment before the elders of the city.

ahora él le atribuye actos vergonzosos, diciendo: “No encontré virgen a tu hija.” Pero ésta es la prueba de la virginidad de mi hija.’ Y extenderán la ropa delante de los ancianos de la ciudad.

18 A nd the elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him;

Entonces los ancianos de la ciudad tomarán al hombre y lo castigarán;

19 a nd they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

le pondrán una multa de 100 siclos (1. 14 kilos) de plata, que darán al padre de la joven, porque denunció públicamente a una virgen de Israel. Y ella seguirá siendo su mujer; no podrá despedirla en todos sus días.

20 B ut if this thing be true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the damsel;

Pero si el asunto es verdad, que la joven no fue hallada virgen,

21 t hen they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the harlot in her father's house: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.

entonces llevarán a la joven a la puerta de la casa de su padre, y los hombres de su ciudad la apedrearán hasta que muera, porque ella ha cometido una terrible ofensa (infamia) en Israel prostituyéndose en la casa de su padre. Así quitarás el mal de en medio de ti.

22 I f a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away the evil from Israel.

Si se encuentra a un hombre acostado con una mujer casada, los dos morirán, el hombre que se acostó con la mujer, y la mujer. Así quitarás el mal de Israel.

23 I f there be a damsel that is a virgin betrothed unto a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

Si hay una joven virgen que está comprometida a un hombre, y otro hombre la encuentra en la ciudad y se acuesta con ella,

24 t hen ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them to death with stones; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbor's wife: so thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.

entonces ustedes llevarán a los dos a la puerta de esa ciudad y los apedrearán hasta que mueran; la joven, porque no dio voces en la ciudad, y el hombre, porque ha violado a la mujer de su prójimo; así quitarás el mal de en medio de ti.

25 B ut if the man find the damsel that is betrothed in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her; then the man only that lay with her shall die:

Pero si el hombre encuentra en el campo a la joven que está comprometida, y el hombre la fuerza y se acuesta con ella; entonces morirá sólo el que se acuesta con ella.

26 b ut unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbor, and slayeth him, even so is this matter;

No harás nada a la joven; no hay en la joven pecado digno de muerte, porque como cuando un hombre se levanta contra su vecino y lo mata, así es este caso.

27 f or he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

Cuando él la encontró en el campo, la joven comprometida dio voces, pero no había nadie que la salvara.

28 I f a man find a damsel that is a virgin, that is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

Si un hombre encuentra a una joven virgen que no está comprometida, y se apodera de ella y se acuesta con ella, y son descubiertos,

29 t hen the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he hath humbled her; he may not put her away all his days.

entonces el hombre que se acostó con ella dará cincuenta siclos de plata al padre de la joven, y ella será su mujer porque la ha violado. No podrá despedirla en todos sus días.

30 A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's skirt.

Ninguno tomará a la mujer de su padre para que no descubra lo que es de su padre.”
