1 W hen I would heal Israel, then is the iniquity of Ephraim uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief entereth in, and the troop of robbers ravageth without.

Cuando Yo quería curar a Israel, Se descubrió la iniquidad de Efraín Y las maldades de Samaria, Porque practican el engaño; El ladrón entra, Los bandidos despojan por fuera,

2 A nd they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now have their own doings beset them about; they are before my face.

Y ellos no consideran en su corazón Que Yo recuerdo toda su maldad. Ahora les rodean sus hechos, Ante Mi rostro están.

3 T hey make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

Con su maldad alegran al rey, Y con sus mentiras a los príncipes.

4 T hey are all adulterers; they are as an oven heated by the baker; he ceaseth to stir the fire, from the kneading of the dough, until it be leavened.

Todos ellos son adúlteros; Son como horno encendido por el hornero, Que deja de atizar el fuego Desde que prepara la masa hasta que fermenta.

5 O n the day of our king the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with scoffers.

En la fiesta de nuestro rey, los príncipes se enfermaron por el calor del vino; él extendió la mano a los provocadores,

6 F or they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.

Pues sus corazones son como un horno Mientras se acercan a su emboscada; Toda la noche duerme su ira, Por la mañana arde como llamas de fuego.

7 T hey are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.

Todos ellos están calientes como un horno, Y devoran a sus gobernantes; Todos sus reyes han caído. No hay entre ellos quien Me invoque.

8 E phraim, he mixeth himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

Efraín se mezcla con las naciones; Efraín es como una torta no volteada.

9 S trangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, and he knoweth it not.

Devoran extranjeros su fuerza, Y él no lo sabe; También tiene cabellos canos, Y él no lo sabe.

10 A nd the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: yet they have not returned unto Jehovah their God, nor sought him, for all this.

Testifica contra él el orgullo de Israel, Pero no se han vuelto al Señor su Dios, Ni Lo han buscado a pesar de todo esto.

11 A nd Ephraim is like a silly dove, without understanding: they call unto Egypt, they go to Assyria.

Efraín es como paloma incauta, sin entendimiento; Llaman a Egipto, acuden a Asiria.

12 W hen they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

Cuando vayan, tenderé sobre ellos Mi red, Como aves del cielo los haré caer; Los castigaré conforme a lo anunciado a su congregación.

13 W oe unto them! for they have wandered from me; destruction unto them! for they have trespassed against me: though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

¡Ay de ellos, pues de Mí se han alejado! Sobre ellos vendrá la destrucción, porque contra Mí se han rebelado; Yo los redimiría, pero ellos hablan mentiras contra Mí.

14 A nd they have not cried unto me with their heart, but they howl upon their beds: they assemble themselves for grain and new wine; they rebel against me.

Y no claman a Mí de corazón Cuando gimen en sus lechos; Por el trigo y el vino nuevo se reúnen, Y se alejan de Mí.

15 T hough I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet do they devise mischief against me.

Aunque Yo adiestré y fortalecí sus brazos, Traman el mal contra Mí.

16 T hey return, but not to him that is on high; they are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

Se vuelven, pero no hacia lo alto (el Altísimo), Son como un arco engañoso. Sus príncipes caerán a espada Por la insolencia de sus lenguas. Esto será su escarnio en la tierra de Egipto.
