1 F orasmuch then as Christ suffered in the flesh, arm ye yourselves also with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

Por tanto, puesto que Cristo ha padecido en la carne, ármense también ustedes con el mismo propósito, pues quien ha padecido en la carne ha terminado con el pecado,

2 t hat ye no longer should live the rest of your time in flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

para vivir el tiempo que le queda en la carne, ya no para las pasiones humanas, sino para la voluntad de Dios.

3 F or the time past may suffice to have wrought the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries:

Porque el tiempo ya pasado les es suficiente para haber hecho lo que agrada a los Gentiles, habiendo andado en sensualidad, lujurias, borracheras, orgías, embriagueces, y abominables idolatrías.

4 w herein they think strange that ye run not with them into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of of:

Y en todo esto, se sorprenden de que ustedes no corren con ellos en el mismo desenfreno de disolución, y los insultan.

5 w ho shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.

Pero ellos darán cuenta a Aquél que está preparado para juzgar a los vivos y a los muertos.

6 F or unto this end was the gospel preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Porque con este fin fue predicado el evangelio (fueron anunciadas las buenas nuevas) aun a los muertos, para que aunque sean juzgados en la carne como hombres, vivan en el espíritu conforme a la voluntad de Dios. El Fin de Todas las Cosas y la Conducta Cristiana

7 B ut the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:

Pero el fin de todas las cosas se acerca. Sean pues ustedes prudentes y de espíritu sobrio para la oración.

8 a bove all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:

Sobre todo, sean fervientes en su amor los unos por los otros, pues el amor cubre multitud de pecados.

9 u sing hospitality one to another without murmuring:

Sean hospitalarios los unos para con los otros, sin murmuraciones (sin quejas).

10 a ccording as each hath received a gift, ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;

Según cada uno ha recibido un don especial, úselo sirviéndose los unos a los otros como buenos administradores de la multiforme gracia de Dios.

11 i f any man speaketh, speaking as it were oracles of God; is any man ministereth, ministering as of the strength which God supplieth: that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

El que habla, que hable conforme a las palabras de Dios; el que sirve (que ministra), que lo haga por la fortaleza que Dios da, para que en todo Dios sea glorificado mediante Jesucristo, a quien pertenecen la gloria y el dominio por los siglos de los siglos. Amén. Sufriendo como Cristianos

12 B eloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, which cometh upon you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened unto you:

Amados, no se sorprendan del fuego de prueba que en medio de ustedes ha venido para probarlos, como si alguna cosa extraña les estuviera aconteciendo.

13 b ut insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy.

Antes bien, en la medida en que comparten los padecimientos de Cristo, regocíjense, para que también en la revelación de Su gloria se regocijen con gran alegría.

14 I f ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are ye; because the Spirit of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you.

Si ustedes son insultados por el nombre de Cristo, dichosos son, pues el Espíritu de gloria y de Dios reposa sobre ustedes. Ciertamente, por ellos El es blasfemado, pero por ustedes es glorificado.

15 F or let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters:

Que de ninguna manera sufra alguien de ustedes como asesino, o ladrón, o malhechor, o por entrometido.

16 b ut if a man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

Pero si alguien sufre como Cristiano, que no se avergüence, sino que como tal (en ese nombre) glorifique a Dios.

17 F or the time is come for judgment to begin at the house of God: and if it begin first at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Porque es tiempo de que el juicio comience por la casa de Dios. Y si comienza por nosotros primero, ¿cuál será el fin de los que no obedecen al evangelio de Dios ?

18 A nd if the righteous is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear?

Y si el justo con dificultad se salva, ¿que sera del impio y del pecador ?

19 W herefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing unto a faithful Creator.

Así que los que sufren conforme a la voluntad de Dios, encomienden sus almas al fiel Creador, haciendo el bien.
